CD drive does not write CD
Help me please! My Player CD does not write CD, but it can always clean CD - RW. What should I do?
Hi Jess
You should try to use different media spaces (various manufacturers). If the situation is the same, it might also lead to malfunction.
Which laptop model you have?

Im having a problem with my dvd. I tried to burn my movies, music and my files on a dvdr or cdr, I tried DVD - RW and CD - RW but I do it every time gives error "d:\ is not accessible incorrect function". but when I try to watch a dvd movie or use my music cd, it does not work. He reads. Does this mean that my dvd drive cannot be read and not write?

Hello
Satellite M40X sounds new enough to have CDs of feature writing. Seems to me a HW question but you can try:
1 - Clean the blank CD with a cloth dry
2 - blow to the goal and do not forget that there is no dust
3. you can uninstall the driver from
-> Panel-> system-> hardware-> Device Manager-> DVD - RAM-> (right click) properties--> driver uninstall-> restarting your laptop. If they do not contribute, you can contact a Toshiba authorized Service partner. You can find the one nearest to http://217.45.123.236/toshiba/resellerselector.nsf/WebServiceProv?OpenForm

The DVD player may require cleaning with a cheap kit that you can buy at any place that sells computers. I had good experience with my readers DVD LG, not to mention my LG TV that I love. One thing you can do when you are trying to burn DVDs would be to reduce the burn speed. I usually use the software Roxio or Nero to burn DVDs - they have always worked well for me.
Relative to the backup, use one of these big drives for backup and you get a good 3rd party backup program like the free Easeus todo backup free of charge that you can download from
http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm . Better yet, you get an external hard drive. You can buy these days 1.5 to ones for about $90.
Good luck.

CD/DVD-RW Drive does not write on Satellite Pro M75
Hello
Im having problems burning CD and DVD on the drive. I have some media in itunes (which i baught! also I have made a backup of the original!) and I want to put on a disc, so I make a new playlist as usual, then I put the disc in and then click on "Burn to CD" so I do... it burns a song, but she then said that there is an error. Also when I try to burn a video I have made through DIVx and happens to 1% and an error occurs. screwing of the disks.
Also when I try and format the DVD - RW with Sonic DLA thing - it gets to 5% and then it says: 'cannot continue because of the General faliour' which is also very annoying also.
What should I do? What is the hardware or software.
Thank you
Joly
Hello
is this error happening since you have this computer or from a specific point. Would be interesting when the problem started, maybe some software is defective drive and causes this error you have.
Please give some detailed comments and describe what you were doing in recent times with the machine and the fact that you have installed a software or something else.
Would appreciate some comments.
Welcome them

Of Satellite A100 CD/DVD drive does not write CD
My A100 running Vista cannot burn CD whatever CD I insert for registration, do not see it A100. DVD burning is OK. Weird and irritating. Can anyone help?
SHello
Don t use Roxio program to burn the CD.
Use Nero! It of much better! I also use it and I m very happy.I noticed that Roxio modifies the registry key, and so sometimes the CD/DVD drive cannot read or burn some mediums.
Delete the Upperfilter and UpperFilter in this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
and restart the laptopGreetings

CD/DVD drive reads but does not write.
I run XP multimedia.
When the optical drive no longer works, I ran malware controls, then Mats_Run.dvd.exe.
"I had to choose and choose fix' reading discs ' which it did.
"" Write function did not work so I ran /Mats_Run.dvd.exe again with the ' writing difficulty ' option.
Still, it reads but does not write.
I installed an external burner and repeated the above; same result.
When I boot with Vista, the two burners work perfectly.

Satellite A40: Drive does not read CD but DVD
I have a SatA40 (now almost 3 years ago) and cd/dvd unit does not work well, the cd cannot read or write, but the dvd reads all my DVDs.
Does anyone have an idea why we don't have, and the other does not? (Everyone I mention that he thinks it's strange - thought if does not work the other shouldn't be.)
Hello
You sounds of description as the lens of the drive cannot calibrate in the right position.
Usually before the player will read or write the middle of what the lens must be calibrated.
In you case the lens can not calibrate and that's why the drive does not recognize the CD.Usually in this case, the drive must be replaced.
But maybe you are a lucky man. Try to clean the lens gently. But be careful -
CD/DVD drive does not read discs on Equium A100
My cd/dvd drive does not read any discs be it, white, written or commercially written. It opens and closes and is light to show that he is working on. Device Manager indicates that the device is functioning properly.
Tried the update of drivers, no update available. Tried restoring the system back 1 day and 1 week and 1 month, then and still the problem cannot be corrected. When I put a cd/dvd in the drive and try to access it, it says: D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error.
Can someone help me I tried everything my friends and I can think, or is it better to send just to toshiba warranty.
If the solution proposed by James will not help, you should try to remove the drive to CD/DVD in Device Manager.
After phone restart the operating system will recognize and initialize the disk again.
After this review of the procedure if you can read, write the middle. -
