  You can remove your usb flash drive write protection using the method below:
  a. open the start menu, in the search bar type regedit, and then press ENTER. This wil open the registry editor.
  b. navigate to the following location:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
  Note:
  If StorageDevicePolicies registry key does not exist, you must create it manually.
  c. highlight StorageDevicePolicies, and then create a new DWORD called WriteProtect (32-bit).
  d. double-click the registration key in the right window, and then set it to a value of 0 in the value data box
  e. press OK

  BitLocker is the Windows utility for free one that really mean, and it does EXACTLY what it says on the box, BUT if the disk on which it is enabled has a problem for SOME reason, the results are catastrophic.

  You can try and remove the disc, remove the write protection (by reversing a tab on the disk), and then try again.

  If you do not have the valve on the USB, try the following steps to resolve the problem:

  1. Click Start , type regedit.exe and press ENTER.

  2. navigate to the following location:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrrentControlSet\Control

   

  3. control with the right mouse button and select new and key.

  4. call it as StorageDevicePolicies.

  5. click on StorageDevicePolicies and on the right pan right click and select new > DWORD and name it as WriteProtect.

  6 double-click it and set its value to 0.

  This will disable the write protection on USB/flash drives.

  Restart your computer and check to see if that fixes the problem.

  You may not have the correct permissions or own the medium on which you try to perform the backup.  Here are some instructions on how to give you the right permissions and Take Ownership (if necessary).

  To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder/drive, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.   I guess you put the micro card in full-size SD card reader? Look on the side of the SD card. There is a small switch that is write protected. Put it to the other position.

  1. click on Start, typeregedit in the Start search box and press ENTER.

  My Satellite U300-14 b (VIsta 32 bit Home Premium, 2 GB) has a 'Mobile GM945 Express Chipset Intel'. Download from Toshiba site, says I've got the latest driver, namely 7.14.10.1263 dated 04/25/07.

  The Intel site lists their latest driver such as in date 7.14.10.1364 dated 11/12/07.

  I want to try the latest version of the driver to help solve a problem of occasional crash / restart when Vista wakes from sleep. I am told that the graphics drivers are often to blame and should therefore be updated.

  Can I safely updated with version 11/12/07, or I risk of problems? Not sure if Toshiba are just slow to release the updated driver, or if there is a better reason that they did not?

  Well, usually you can use the graphic driver directly from Intel page but I found several threads here in the forum that said that the chart non-Toshiba drivers can be installed and used only at your own risk

  Hmm perhaps this problem could be related to the graphics driver, but I recommend you to update to Vista and install all THE patches for Vista.

  AFAIK Tecra A4 has 2.5 inch HDD inside. But the HARD drive has another connector HARD drive that you can remove. The HARD drive is placed in the HARD drive chassis and fixed with four screws. Remove the screw and the connector. Be very carefully and take it easy.

  After that you can use in other laptops.

  On an iMac with Lion 10.7.3, I try to get an Epson ReadyPrint T20 - TM to use the Epson driver when it is connected to our server Windows 2008 R2 with DRC 2.1.1 but it keeps using a HP Color Laser Jet 2800 Series PS we have not the HP printer and I need some features in the Epson driver.
