  • HP Mini: Change BIOS password

I bought a laptop second hand from someone who had bought initially in Australia.  She told me there was a password on what I assume is the Bios password.  If the computer is completely discharged, it promts a password. The screen is black and the text "enter the current password" appears. When this password is entered, the normal opening procedure starts and the normal password is requested.

I had a problem with the screen because there was a loose wire. I put it in a computer in Thailand store. When they fixed, the second password screen appeared. So far so good. When I got home, the password of the BIOS has been requested.  I walked in that I've used for the past 2 years. However, the password did not work.

Is there a default password for this? I saw the messages that say the password can be reset, but I'm only redirected to the page that requires the entry of the password.

After three incorrect attempts, the display shows

    Password check fail

    Fatal error... System stopped

    Help, please!

    Hello

Enter: e9lovq7544 (to be noted that in both cases, the 3rd character is a lowercase L)

    or

    e9lovq754r

  • Portege M400 - BIOS password of change within the OS without knowing password?

    Hi all

I hope I can get help / advice from someone with more experience with the M400 if possible?

I reinstalled the operating system and the configuration of the biometric security for me, which worked perfectly! However foolishly I also configure startup security (password of BIOS). So when the Tablet is on I can scan my finger and participate without any problem, but now I want to disable the start security. So I booted into the operating system and went to turn it off... but it asks for my password... I forgot that I was a typical end user and have only used my bloody finger!

Anyone know if I can disable BIOS security while in the operating system using security biomentric rather than enter a password? I tried simply by changing the password of admin in the victory of the BONES, but it does not... any ideas?

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    See you soon

You intervene on password of BIOS that you set in the BIOS?
AFAIK you cannot remove the BIOS password if you know n t the old BIOS password.
In this case that only the Toshiba ASP could help you just the ASP from Toshiba technician could remove unknown BIOS password

  • Satellite 1000-S158 changed the BIOS password on an empty

I changed the BIOS password on an empty (blank). I can't access the BIOS. Pressing on enter: it shows the error isn't the right password.
    How can I fix?

Hmm. sounds you did something wrong maybe you misspelled or set a different password?

Anyway, the point is that you are not able to bypass the BIOS password screen and in this case you will be unable to start Notepad.

The problem is that you cannot remove the BIOS password, this can be done by a technician of ASP.

In my opinion only technician in ASP can help you.

  • The Bios password has changed on my Satellite A100-797?

An hour ago my bios on my satellite A100-797 does not accept my password more, so I can't start my laptop more.
Is started the laptop views both today, and suddenly my password doesn't work anymore.

-Im am 100% sure I type the password.
-Never change the password always used this password on this laptop, for the time of year I have now.
-I'm the only person who has never known the password.
    -No recent bios update

It should not be possible that changed the password.
Is it possible the mapping of the keys or something like that has changed?

I recommend you contact the ASP in your country too.
It turns out that only the ASP can remove the BIOS password.

Maybe they could update the BIOS to make sure that this is not a BIOS problem.

    Good luck

  • Try to set / change the password BIOS admin via the script WMI on ThinkStation D20

    Hello Lenovo Community!

Start using the WMI Lenovo_SetBiosSetting class on a D20 system.

If I understand the documentation that there is a limitation on the BIOS password in the past, but I updated to the latest BIOS Rev who support States was added for this feature.

I use a script that changes the supervisor on computers password successfully thinkpad, but when even to run the script from command line on the D20 system it returns "SUCCESS" however to change the password did not effect!

I'm using the right parameters are the standard of lenovo

' pap, oldpass newpass, ascii, we.

I thought maybe "pap" is not the correct setting for password Admin on the D20, however the WMI available, posted 2010 guide, does not show otherwise.

Someone at - it an example script that they can display successfully change the password on a D20 system?

    Please and thx!

Did you run the SaveSetting script after changing the password?

You can get the SaveSetting script from the sample scripts D20 located at the following link:

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?docid=UM002033

You can use the script SetAdminPassword from the library of scripts of series E, then a follow-up that with something like what follows before restarting:

    "cscript SaveSetting.vbs" originalpwd, ascii, we.

Replace 'originalpwd' with all what your existing password was at the time wherever you booted the system.

  • Portege Z830 - Bios password change/remove

When I started my new Portege Z830, it gave me the opportunity during the entire upward, to put a bios password.

I did, but I am now regret, as I have to present two passwords, bios and windows, can start to do something. As I need the BIOS one, how in the system to edit or delete, now that I don't have access to all of the screens?

    Thank you

You can delete it in the BIOS options directly or using Toshiba tool in Windows supervisor password utility.

I recommend to proceed to a complete stop and restart after laptop enter the BIOS settings and delete here.

  • How can I change/remove password BIOS on Satellite A300?

I have a satellite A300-1BZ running Windows vista Home premium. For some reason, there intermittentlystarted requesting a password of BIOS or boot when I turn on. I have never put this password myself and have no idea how or where to look to remove it.

I can turn on if I remove the battery without asking for the password, but if I shut off and turn on again, then it asks again. Advice apprecieated.

    Thank you.
    Chris

The history is somewhat strange. Cannot set password BIOS only.
Is anyone else using your laptop?

    > I can light up if I remove the battery without asking for the password, but if I shut off and turn on again, then it asks again.
To be honest I don t understand this. If you just understand that you can use your laptop and bypass the BIOS password if you turn the notebook on power only, right?
But with the battery inside it start and ask BIOS password?

  • Default BIOS password

    Hello everyone,

I had real trouble moving my Touchsmart 600 - 1030fr to Windows 8. Due to incompatibility of graphics driver, I see nothing on my computer after the startup screen (the one with the blue window).

I discovered that a change in the BIOS can solve this problem, but my BIOS asks me a password. I tried to reset this password in removal and replacement of the battery from the motherboard. Although he told me that the BIOS has been reversed to the factory settings, the password is always there.

Is anyone of you know what is the password to the factory settings?

Also, I read on the forum but

    • The password 12345 found heredoes not work

"NOTE: If a new non - HP BIOS is installed, and turn on a password is used, and you don't remember the password to start the computer, see the support document of specification motherboard for your computer model to find the password reset instructions to clear BIOS passwords."

The BIOS password is used to protect the settings of the BIOS against unwanted changes. If you have forgotten your password, you can use this jumper to reset password settings.

To clear the password BIOS follow these steps:

1 turn off the POWER the computer and unplug the power cord.

    2. Locate the jumper marked CLEARLY P.W.

    3. move the jumper on the PSWD jumper on pins 3-1.

4 wait about 10 seconds, and then return the jumper to pins 5-3.

    5. connect the power cord and turn on the computer.

6 hold down the F10 key during the boot process to enter the BIOS setup. You will not be asked a password.
