Portege Z830 - Bios password change/remove

When I started my new Portege Z830, it gave me the opportunity during the entire upward, to put a bios password.

I did, but I am now regret, as I have to present two passwords, bios and windows, can start to do something. As I need the BIOS one, how in the system to edit or delete, now that I don't have access to all of the screens?

Thank you

You can delete it in the BIOS options directly or using Toshiba tool in Windows supervisor password utility.

I recommend to proceed to a complete stop and restart after laptop enter the BIOS settings and delete here.

  • Portege M400 - BIOS password of change within the OS without knowing password?

    Hi all

I hope I can get help / advice from someone with more experience with the M400 if possible?

I reinstalled the operating system and the configuration of the biometric security for me, which worked perfectly! However foolishly I also configure startup security (password of BIOS). So when the Tablet is on I can scan my finger and participate without any problem, but now I want to disable the start security. So I booted into the operating system and went to turn it off... but it asks for my password... I forgot that I was a typical end user and have only used my bloody finger!

Anyone know if I can disable BIOS security while in the operating system using security biomentric rather than enter a password? I tried simply by changing the password of admin in the victory of the BONES, but it does not... any ideas?

    Any help greatly appreciated!

  • Portege M400 - BIOS password boot activated by accident!

I just installed Windows 7 in my Portege M400-104.

It worked perfectly, but in the last restart, after installing all the drivers and software, and the configuration of my fingerprints, all of a sudden the computer request a password to start! I never entered any BIOS password or I run the help password utility.

I never used these passwords so I guess it's some defect, one who was accidentally activated by one of the tools I have configured (perhaps?), but I don't know what it is!

Can someone tell me what default password is possible or how to remove it? (without sending the phone to a service tech).

    Thank you

  • Where to insert the BIOS on Portege Z830 supervisor password?

    + Number description: +.
I can access BIOS through F2 on my Z830.
The installation of the system is listed, but cannot be changed.
The BIOS supervisor password is set, and I know.
There is no prompt like ' insert password: "."
    * Please help me find the way how to insert it.*

(I can also run the system configuration utility.

There is a prompt "Insert password."
    * If I insert my password it works.*
But in the utility are some parameters (for example Intel Rapid Start) is missing.)

    Hello

The password of the BIOS and the supervisor password can be removed in the area of security of BIOS.

Please also check this Toshiba document.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB0B032D0000R01.htm

In some cases, you need to press the "INS" in Toshiba logo appears.
Then appears a prompt for the password for the supervisor and if the password is certified then the BIOS could be entered by pressing the "F2" key

Short answer: no, there are no tools tending to alter the BIOS.
The developers of Toshiba are abele to change and modify the BIOS but these tools are not available for download.

    Hello everyone.

I have a big problem with my netbook
A few days ago I was a little drunk and I made a password
During start-up of the netbook, but now I forgot the password.

I wish just that someone will help me how to remove the password.

    Please, I beg you.

Not lucky random guy, BIOS password can be removed only by authorized persons (Toshiba service engineer).
This password is a kind of protection against theft and the anti-theft system and cannot be eliminated by any person.

Then contact partner in your country to remove.

  • How can I change/remove password BIOS on Satellite A300?

I have a satellite A300-1BZ running Windows vista Home premium. For some reason, there intermittentlystarted requesting a password of BIOS or boot when I turn on. I have never put this password myself and have no idea how or where to look to remove it.

I can turn on if I remove the battery without asking for the password, but if I shut off and turn on again, then it asks again. Advice apprecieated.

    Thank you.
    Chris

The history is somewhat strange. Cannot set password BIOS only.
Is anyone else using your laptop?

    > I can light up if I remove the battery without asking for the password, but if I shut off and turn on again, then it asks again.
To be honest I don t understand this. If you just understand that you can use your laptop and bypass the BIOS password if you turn the notebook on power only, right?
But with the battery inside it start and ask BIOS password?

  • Satellite U305-S2808: how to remove BIOS password

OK, I went to best buy for a simple upgrade and the completely * ed my laptop.
When I approached them about this they said that it was normal procedure.
    They have everything reset.

So I called Toshiba asking how to reset the Bios password and they said I had to go back to bestbuy and they could help me.
So now I am back to bestbuy and explained in the simple upgrade they reset all my passwords and the scanner ingure won t read my finger to leave me in the stinking Windows and my password Bios changed also.

They told me that I would have to pay to get this fix because I opted out of it the first time. chosen?
My passwords should not have been affected.

So now they want a 125 smackers to reset or turn it off.
So I request someone knows in a way that they would reset it?
They said they could do it, while I waited and got the school Tuesday morning.
So I need to know how to bypass or reset it as soon as possible.

Please any help would be appreciated!

the model is - Toshiba Satellite U305-S2808

    Hello

Your story is a bit confusing.

    But let's talk about facts;
Firstly if you have set the BIOS password, you should be able to remove it in the BIOS if the BIOS password is known to you.

If the BIOS password is not known to you, you will not be able to withdraw without further support from the authorized Toshiba maintainer. The BIOS password must be removed using a special procedure and tools and it can be done ONLY by an ASP.
I think it should be clear now.

So if you want to remove the BIOS password, and the password is not known to you, you need the ASP and you will be charged for this.

Unfortunately, you will need the help of ASP.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite 1000-S158 changed the BIOS password on an empty

I changed the BIOS password on an empty (blank). I can't access the BIOS. Pressing on enter: it shows the error isn't the right password.
    How can I fix?

Hmm. sounds you did something wrong maybe you misspelled or set a different password?

Anyway, the point is that you are not able to bypass the BIOS password screen and in this case you will be unable to start Notepad.

The problem is that you cannot remove the BIOS password, this can be done by a technician of ASP.

In my opinion only technician in ASP can help you.

  • Equium A100-338 - how to remove BIOS password?

Insalled Ubuntu 9.10 on the laptop when it was released last month after I had used it fine until last week when suddenly in asked me the password of the bios at startup. I can't start, load into the bios or where I start since the change.

I never set a password on my bios or had any reason to go in there and have never had this problem with Ubuntu Linux on any device in the past. The internet has not helped either, nor has the user guide that tells me to go to the chapters that do not exist and the website holder that has dead and then links says me to go to curries, as I bought it from there.

I'm covered by technical support curries until next year, but they insist that I should pay for the solution, insinuating that it's my fault.

Any information would be massively appreciated. :)

    Hey Buddy,

If the BIOS requires a password and you don t you will need to contact an authorized service provider. The fact is that only a laptop computer technician can remove the password and if you need professional help. Here, you can search the nearest SPAS:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > find an authorized service provider

I put also t know how it happened that a BIOS password is now defined but only ASP can remove it

  • The Bios password has changed on my Satellite A100-797?

An hour ago my bios on my satellite A100-797 does not accept my password more, so I can't start my laptop more.
Is started the laptop views both today, and suddenly my password doesn't work anymore.

-Im am 100% sure I type the password.
-Never change the password always used this password on this laptop, for the time of year I have now.
-I'm the only person who has never known the password.
    -No recent bios update

It should not be possible that changed the password.
Is it possible the mapping of the keys or something like that has changed?

I recommend you contact the ASP in your country too.
It turns out that only the ASP can remove the BIOS password.

Maybe they could update the BIOS to make sure that this is not a BIOS problem.

    Good luck
