Change essbase agentport

Hi all

I installed integrated with OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0 essbase and I'm trying to port change essbase and agentport range in the essbase.cfg file, but after restarting it, does it still have the previous ports. I restarted all my services, but nothing happened.

I use the essbase.cfg file located in ORACLE_INSTANCE/Essbase/essbaseserver1/bin /.

I found in Oracle doucumentation this is the configuration file, but after this, I'm not sure.

All the information would be appreciated.

Best regards

You need to update the OPMN.xml file with the new ports

If you are not sure then have a read of the doc following support - "Information about Port numbers" used in OBIEE 11 g Installation and Configuration (Doc ID 1619572.1)

So, I think to start the Configurator on the new server to connect the essbase to the new instance. However, what about the existing configuration? I have to cancel the configuration it? Is there a procedure that I could follow?

I hope that I was clear... Thank you in advance for each considerations that you might have about my problem.

I know Essbase, but am new to planning.

Whatever it is will break if I rearrange the dims in a database of planning Essbase?

    THX, JM

It will follow the same rules as essbase, so reording in planning will then push changes essbase.
So no, it won't break but do not forget the rules of essbase and you should be fine.

  • Could not view the logs in the Console of the AAS - AAS crashes

    Hello experts,

In the case of ASA, we click with the right button on an application and then click on view - journal. We run display log and aas crashes. This happens every time. Any help is appreciated more.

    Kind regards
    Sonu

How big are the files of newspapers you? If you look at the server under Hyperion\analyticserver\app\yourapplicaton you can find the journal. If you are on a version pre-operating system analyticserver change Essbase with Essbase 9.
If they are old, they will take a while to load. Then you might get a message on the screen by truncating.
I recommend that you keep the papers to a reasonable size by making a copy of them and then delete.

  • Change the Port Essbase 1423

Hello everyone. I have a situation where our technology group is a query on port 1423 system. When this happens, it causes the Essbase (9.3.1 on Windows 32-bit) service to close. To prevent this, I need to get the port number, changed through the configuration again and by assigning a different port for EAS (running on a machine separate Linux) and Essbase.

Are there other changes that I needed to do to any client connections? Doug Ware, I saw mentioned in another thread that the add-in Essbase Excel uses the same port. I should tell my users to use the "Server port:' if it is assigned to a different number of 1423?

    Thank you
    Robert

You can use an Essbase.cfg file on the client to assign a different port using the AGENTPORT command, or as you said, use the : entry in the connection dialog box. There are probably other ways to do it as well.

Edit: I can't go into too much detail here, but the 'other means' implies usually configure the routers so that the access of a particular router would get remapped port 1423 at your port of destination automatically, so all traffic from this source would be re-routed. I am tempted to ask if your COMPUTER people might use to use a different port to monitor this server, because it is likely that the source of this computer could be isolated - this would require that they remap the listener on your server.

Long story short, that the it Department must be flexible in this story, to change production to allow a process of support remains constant is low ackwards.

  • What type of Essbase restructuring occurs if change the position of sparse dimension in outline

The wording of the Essbase Administrator's guide is curious me...

We have a 11.1.2.2 application Planning/Essbase and I want to use the Performance parameters in the planning to go down a dimension of the sparse outline more order.

Essbase (contour change Quick Reference) Administrator's guide tells me two possible outcomes, but it's not clear to me which apply in my case.

The first case: ("change the order of the two-dimensional sparse") said Essbase restructures the index.

The second case: ("change the order of dimensions') said Essbase restructures them data and index

Hoping that the forum can help me decide which one of them is true - thank you.

I never noticed the ambiguity of leaflets before, but if you just change the order of the sparse dimensions, it should be the first (an index restructure).

  • Essbase have the ability to automatically forcing a user to change their password after a 90 days

Essbase have the ability to automatically forcing a user to change their password after a 90 days
. 11.1.2 we have that, but coming to 11.1.2.3.500. I can't change this property under Essbase server. Shared with native directory services.

    any work around that?

The workaround is to use an external directory as MSAD where password options are controlled at that level, recommend Oracle uses external directories for users on the native of directories.

"EPM system supports native users, but I can use them in my deployment to production? Recommend the Oracle?

Native directory allows you to create native development and test users; However, Oracle recommends strongly that you use users of the directory company in production deployments. This is because password policies are not supported for native users. In addition, after you use the native users for the development or test, Oracle recommends that you disable or remove them andalways use users in the corporate directory. »

  • NOMCLUSTER Essbase 11.1.2.2 change after deployment

    Hello

We have configured Essbase 11.1.2.2 with NOMCLUSTER evil. Is it possible to change the NOMCLUSTER for this instance? Kindly advice.

    Thank you

    Andy

    Hello

No, it is not possible to rename cluster or Essbase instance names after the initial Setup. If you must change the instance names and cluster, create the cluster and the new instance. Applications for the export of the old cluster and import them into the new cluster.

  • Hyperion Planning / essbase change codes member = lost data?

    Hello

I was talking with a coleague and I mentioned that when I change the codes in Hyperion Planning, codes are modified in Essbase and data are not lost. She mentioned that she did not know essbase couldn't recognize that code and data would be lost.

Is it controlled on the side of planning, searching for existing id and change only the code of Member in essbase and works well thanks to the planning of the interface, so that if you change it directly on the essbase outline, data will be lost?

    Thanl you

If you rename a member in the planning and then run an update, the Member must be renamed to Essbase, so the data are kept, try and see.

You should never be rename planning members directly against Essbase outline, how it should work plans > essbase not the other way around.

  • What happens in steady when I change a dense dimension in Essbase?

    Hi all

When I add/change/remove any member of Dimension Dense, what are the files that would be get restructured.

I know they are otl files, pag and ind but don't know how/why file ind gets restructured.

(Index files contains the only address to the actual data blocks which are formed by unique combinations of sparse dimension, but when we make changes to Dense dimension why file ind gets restructured).

    Thank you

    Amith

Amith, the index contains pointers existing blocks - it literally tells Essbase where in the .pag files to find a particular block.  If the blocks change size / move (because they will be in a dense restructuring implied), the updated index.

Take Sample.Basic for example.  If the block for "NYC"->"100-10" exists from the 1000th byte of ess00001.pag, the index entry for "New York"-> "100-10" will take account of this.  Then, we perform an implicit restructuring by removing a few dense members.  The block for "New York"-> "" 100-10 will always exist, but it might be present in the file from the 500th byte.  The entry of index for "New York" file-> "" 100-10 must be updated.

See optimizing database restructuring in the database administrator's Guide (Sreekumar post above is actually taken from this section).

  • When you perform queries Smart View Ad hoc, changing the selection of the Alias in the Essbase himself Ribbon

    Hyperion Planning

    GPE, Fusion edition, 11.1.2.2

    Smart View 11.1.2.2

When running Smart View Ad-hoc queries, selection of the Alias in the Essbase Ribbon does not.

When I start a new query, the Alias in the Ribbon of Smart View is always set to None; but often, not always, the selection will change itself no default - usually after I refreshred/zoom a few times.  He starts a time past, I change the selection of the Alias in the Ribbon in none, but it changes just itself by default again.

The option to display the name of the Member is defined on behalf of members only.  (This is the default setting for this option and I usually begin with all the options, by default).

This problem started after that we went to 11.1.2.2.

If neither know why the Alias / None change automatically in the Essbase Ribbon?

    Thank you

    Veronica

There is a way that you can set for your connection

When you use shared connections to connect to your application, you do a right click and say "Add to private connections". Once you have added to your private connection, right click and click 'Set Alias Table'. You can do this on a connection that you have added to private connections

  • RDBMS for Hyperion Essbase server change

    Hi all

We installed and configured 11.1.2.2.100(Essbase, EIS, Studio, Services partagés) on Windows 2008 32-bit server successfully.

Everything went well and all the products work.

Now, we have changed the RDBMS for Hyperion Essbase server and ran the configuration once more with the new RDBMS server with option "reuse existing tables.

    H1

    | First current

    DB1 -> DB2

Therefore, we are unable to access the essbase server.

We have seen users of Shared Services. All users are able to connect to Shared Services, EAS but problem with Essbase.

In the table of HSS_Component is the old name of the server in two places, we have updated the old name of DB server on behalf of current server DB.

When we try to access essbase we get the below error (tried with the host name, ip address, EssbaseCluster1 as the Essbase server)

Error network [10061]: unable to connect to [Server Name: 1423]

Error: 103: unexpected error Essbase 1030818

Error: 1042006: error network [10061]: unable to connect to [[servername]: 1423]

Error: 1030818: failed to connect. Please check if the server and port are correct. If you have received failure timeout or handshake.

Please check if you tried to connect to a secure Word keyless secure port or disable port with the secure key word.

Please help me solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Alain

It is extremely important that you know what you are doing before you touch the registry of shared services and the correct way is to not update the tables, is to use the epmsys_registry utility.

To be honest you can have messed up the registry and it is something I will not get involved in, try to talk with Oracle, what you just did.

If it is only the name of the RDBMS server change (not the essbase server) then you must follow the instructions in the documentation - change shared Services and connection of database registry and the password information

  • How can I change the connection to the NETWORK of a new Essbase cube?

I developed a report EN by configuring Essbase 'A CUBE'

Now, my client is that decommissioning, and they built a new Essbase "CUBE B"

So, how can I change the connection to the NETWORK and assign a new cube?

I guess that you have space to work.

    Within the workspace.

    1. go into tools-> change of database connections.
    2. Select the file that you want to change the source.
    3. click on OK
    4. change the Source with "replace with:" drop-down list, click OK.
