    Hello

    Update the database from 9i to 11g would take less time as Oracle E-Business Suite 11i to R12 upgrade.

    Again, it is a question of material resources and specifications.

  • How to remove future changes in the person of Info via API

    Hello

    We use the EBS 11i. I want to know if there are any API call that can remove specific date changes in the information of the person for any worker.

    for example record created on January 1, 2012

    change person made November 1, 2013 through API information

    now a few reasons we want to remove these changes we did November 1, 2013.

    Kind regards

    Ali

    Hi Ali,

    You can use the same API, say HR_PERSON_API. update_person and pass date_track as UPDATE_OVERRIDE mode

    Update and correct the Information Datetracked (Oracle HRMS help)

    In your case, you can change the date as the start_date the first record and use UPDATE_OVERRIDE.

    See you soon,.

  • Cloning by rman on a different server with the directory structure different and different DBNAME in EBS 11i using quick Clone

    Hello

    We want only DB (not apps) cloning through PROD rman, step TEST EBS 11i using quick Clone without taking downtime of PROD (i.e. No. BKP COLD).

    Source and target are on different servers, different file structure and the different database name.

    Kindly let me know the detailed procedure?

    Kind regards

    RR

    You can use this simple method that I am.

    Take backup of production with rman:

    {

    overlap archivelog all;

    backup format compressed backupset database tag PROD_FULLBKP ' / u10/PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125/PROD_DB_set%s_piece%p_%T_%U' filesperset 15;

    SQL 'alter database backup controlfile to trace. "

    SQL 'alter system switch logfile;

    SQL 'alter system switch logfile;

    SQL 'alter system switch logfile;

    overlap archivelog all;

    backup as compressed backupset archivelog all delete input PROD_ARCHBKP format tag ' / u10//PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125/ARCH_PROD_set%s_piece%p_%T_%U' filesperset 20;

    backup format ' / u10/PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125/PROD_ctl_%T_%U' current controlfile;

    }

    Move the backup on the test server:

    SCP /ftp

    Modify the pfile to the test server:

    Parameters such as:

    db_name

    control_files

    modify the pfile to match the location of the test server

    Add this parameter

    db_file_name_convert = ' / PROD_datafile_location/datafile ', ' / test_datafile_location / data ', ' / PROD_datafile_location/tempfile ', ' / test_datafile_location / data.

    log_file_name_convert = ' / PROD_redofile_location/ONLINELOG ', ' / test_redofile_location / data ".

    Start the DB:

    Start the db in nomount:

    startup nomount.

    Connecting to rman and start to restore:

    Auxiliary RMAN.

    RMAN > run

    {

    allocate auxiliary channel a1 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channels a2 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channel a3 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channel a4 device type disk;

    data duplicated in the PREPRODUCTION backup location ' / u10/PREPRODUCTION/oraR12/clone_backup/PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125 ";

    }

    OR

    If you specify time/perform a recovery of time based, like below:

    RMAN > run

    {

    allocate auxiliary channel a1 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channels a2 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channel a3 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channel a4 device type disk;

    data duplicated in PREPRODUCTION backup location 'LOCATION_OF_BACKUP', until ' TO_DATE (7 July 2012 09:45 ',' DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI:SS') ";

    }

    Should I ignore the warning and proceed to install.

    If this isn't the case, then how to fix this error.

    Good answer.

    Thank you.

    I installed libraries for VC ++ 2010 distributable for ebs on Windows Server 2003.

    For 11i, you must install Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 or Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.

    Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Visual C++ 2008 Express for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i on Windows [1095124.1 ID]
    Requirement of Visual C++ for Windows [201392.1 ID] 11i version

    Which is the default installation of VC Directory ++?

    You can install it in any directory - just be careful NOT to use names of directories with spaces (for example, program files).

    Can someone give me a working link to follow EBS R11i on Windows 2003 Server installation step?

  • Change password DMSYS in EBS 11i

    I can run just change dmsys user identified by xxxx, or should I change the FNDCPASS utility?

    Password for DMSYS scheme can be changed using the ALTER USER command. FNDCPASS cannot be used to change the password for this scheme, because it isn't a schema of the EBS.

    Hi hussein.

    RHEL 4
    EBS 11i

    I'm upgrading of Database 9i (9.2.0.6) 9.2.0.8.
    I read the note:
    Oracle9i Patch Set Notes - version 2 (9.2.0.8) Patch Set 7 for Linux x 86
    I just don't understand the following:
    5.4.2 Recommended hangcheck-timer Configuration Defaults
    The following are the recommended default configuration settings for the hangcheck-timer module. These are in addition to the recommendations for parameters in the Oracle RAC documentation.
    I do hang check timer?

    I do hang check timer?

    It is a RAC instance? If this isn't the case, skip this step.

  • The Report Builder for Windows and Linux - EBS 11i

  • EBS 11i RMAN backup

    Hi all

    EBS 11i

    OEL 5

    I have rman backup of our database of EBS.

    I also have a single backup at oracle.

    Assuming that no patches have been applied, is the one-time backup of oracle home + backup rman, good enough to restore the database to a server disaster recovery?

    Can I still place adpreclone every day, for the rman backup to synchronize?

    Adpreclone is used to capture changes to the patches applied, or adding database files? or both?

    Please throw lights...

    Thank you very much

    JC

    It is not possible to have several databases with the ORACLE_SID even on the same host.

    The solution is that you have to put on separate hosts.

  • EBS 11i supported OS

    Hi all

    EBS 11i (11.5.10.2)

    9i dB (9.2.0.6)

    RHEL 5.5

    We have the performance issue on our 9i database. He can't change his memory for more than 2 GB because of its limitation of 32-bit.

    In the first place, I do not understand why Oracle has brought together this 32bits 9i DB when they know that EBS is memory intensive software?

    You have an idea why he brought together this small memory 32-bit Database 9i?

    Can I migrate this 9i 32-bit to 64-bit 9i?

    Thank you very much.

    JC

    Hello

    The application tier is supported by Linux 32-bit 3, 4 and 5 only.

    The 9iR2 database is certified on 64-bit Linux 3 and 4.

    The best thing to do is to create a virtual Linux 4 machine and move the top database.

    You can also migrate and upgrade the database to 10g or 11g.

    Kind regards

    Bashar

  • Role of PLSQL developer in the process of upgrading the EBS?

    Hello

    One client is currently in the process of upgrading of the EBS from V11 to V12. They are looking for a PL/SQL Developer, migrate their paintings of previous version again. What would be the role of a pl/sql developer in such situation? I want to ask that position and looking for documents related to the post but could not find one. If there is someone who had experience with this migration scenario please help me.

    Thanks again,

    Users are complaining that applications oracle is suspended although few users use only as 4 users, and sometimes even no one is using it... so weird. Can it
    be caused by simultaneous on-demand batch running background?

    It is possible, and it depends on what simultaneous programs are underway.

    How can I enumerate all running simultaneous tasks?

    Query FND_CONCURRENT_REQUESTS - http://etrm.oracle.com/pls/trm11510/etrm_pnav.show_object?c_name=FND_CONCURRENT_REQUESTS&c_owner=APPLSYS&c_type=TABLE

    Simultaneous treatment - what are the meanings of the Codes in the STATUS_CODE and the PHASE_CODE FND_CONCURRENT_REQUESTS Table columns? [152209.1 ID]

    Thank you
