Change of date of BONE affecting Oracle instance? I stop the instance?

Hi all

I'm having a moment principal here. The SA is trying to change the OS date/time...how will this affect the instances of Oracle running on the box. ? Should I bring the bodies down, allows him to change the date (order date, I guess, this is a box of HR)... and then put it to the top...
Or, I have to take it down at all... just give way and let the date command?

TIA,

Kelly

Change of date of OS will change the SYSDATE on the database. If you have something that depends on SYSDATE, which could cause problems (i.e. If there is a process that inserts records using SYSDATE and the other orders of the date, you could get things out of order so time goes backwards). If you need to recover to a point in time during the window, you may need to recover a SNA instead of a timestamp. Other than that, it should be pretty safe.

  • Installer/Packager of Oracle instance

Hello! I need to create an installer that would create an Oracle instance on the Oracle of the client server. For SQL Server I can use SQL package manager (http://www.red-gate.com/products/sql-development/sql-packager/)

who can create an executable that I can integrate a .msi file.

Is there something available for Oracle?

As background, several times a year the company that I work for CD ships with the latest data. Db schemas change frequently, so we rather not run sql dba cause data population scripts cannot run properly. They tend to perform the data script change scripts before schema. My company gave up after spending more than $50 K on the creation of some of the best material I've seen. Instead, we will create an installer that would take the name of zone Oracle and execute commands of Oracle restore to restore an entire database from a dump.

The packer of Red Gate SQL product works rather well for SQL Server.

What are my options for Oracle?

    Many thanks in advance,

  • Minimum requirements to an oracle instance

    Hello

I have an image of Oracle 9i with RedHat EL 4. Oracle has been installed but not yet configured. It's done there is not all about SID, Tns, defined Lisners. Just for start-up and test instance, I created a SID called "PROD" and Setup other settings in the file tnsnames and lisnters in some cases.

But when I try to start the instance by the "dbstart" command, I was getting some init file not found message.

It seems to start an instance, there should be a created init file. How can do us it manually?

and could you please tell me, what are basic/minimum prerequisites to get an instance in oracle 9i?

    Thank you very much
    Luke

    You must
    a. to create other databases (the one where you want to import to)
    b. PreCreat all Tablespces databases (Tablespace names must be the same as in the source database but the Tablespace storage parameters and data file sizes may be different - of course, the names of database files, must be different if this database is to run on the same server)

    Optional
    a. first create users with the same roles and privileges granted such system in the source system
    b. manually synchronize SEQUENCE values by a FALL and CREATE the new database after import (this is where they got incremented in the source since the export database)

    very possibly
    a. preCreate the table and indexes - this is where you want to pre-allocate extents to tables or were created in different areas of storage fom that they exist in the source database

When you do a FULL export and import, it copies the
Instructions CREATE USER - we can
Statements of CREATE TABLESPACE - you want to avoid. However, if you do not create before them, Oracle will attempt to recreate it with the data files in the same place as in the source database - which will fail. (A caveate: If you run the import with the DESTROY option, import into the new database without pre-creation of tablespaces can cause Oracle to overwrite and corrupt your data source as it attempt to create data files!)
CREATE TABLE instructions - which migh you run before changing storage / tablespaces

  • Test the Oracle Instance on the smaller box (RAM problems)

I got the task of taking an existing database of production and creation of a database of test on a much smaller box. The production box has 48 GB of RAM and eight CPUS (Itanium running HP - UX 11.23). The test box has four gigabytes of RAM and a processor. We had a process in place in the past to do this for Oracle 9i. All the data files, redo logs and Oracle 10g binaries are hosted on an HP EVA SAN, so we use snapshot or mirror of the cloning technology during the production on the test server instance.

On Oracle 9i, we used to copy the data, delete the control files, then run a script to create new files of control for the test instance. I don't know if the old 9i writing work and have not yet tested this part. Mainly because I have problems to get the test instance to start reliably in the first place. When I copied all the data on, I changed the tnsnames.ora to reflect the host name of the new machine. I made a few adjustments in the file init.ora for production DB as well. At the beginning, I was able to start the database and everything seemed fine. But when I tried to stop him, he gave me the following error message:

    [07:32] [oracle@OracleC:~]$sqlplus "/ as sysdba"]

This error is broad enough that I am certain that what he means is a bad server configuration of database for me probably a problem in the init.ora or SPFILE with a parameter that is calibrated for 48 GB box, not the box of 4 GB.

Then I run "ipcrm". But if I run "swapinfo", it always indicates that most of the system's RAM is eaten up:

I can't to free up RAM (which is usually about 20% used) after the start of Oracle attempt. The kernel parameters are defined for Oracle9i recommendations, so that they should not be too far from what is recommended for Oracle 10 g.

I worked on it for about two or three weeks and I am almost of ideas. So any suggestions are welcome.

How to change titles & dates of lots of pictures (like in iPhoto?) With the help of Mac 'Pages' on, 2008 aluminium MacBook running OSX El Capitan 10.11.4

With the help of Mac 'Pages '.

    A typing mistake?

If it is and you mean Photos Date of Mac are modified by selecting the photos using the Image menu == > adjust the time and date of order and changes made to the metadata such as keywords, location, etc. are made by selecting the photos and find the info and registering metadata in the Info window

These are detailed in the help topics of pictures - a good place to look for help on the Photos

View and add information about the photos

You can view and add information about your photos. For example, you can see the date and time a photo was taken, the information about the camera that took the photo and badges that indicate the status of the photo. You can assign titles and captions to photos, add or change the location of the photos and change the date and time for them information. You can select multiple photos in an instant and add or change information about them all at once.

    Open pictures for me

View and add information about the photos

To view or change information for the photos, you select one or more photos, and then open the information window.

    • Open the Info window: Double-click a photo to view it, and then click the Info button in the toolbar or press on command I.
    • Add or change information: Change the following.
      • Title: Enter a name in the title field.
      • Description: In the Description field, type a caption.
      • Favorite: Click the Favorites button to mark the photo as a favorite. Click the button again to deselect.
      • Keywords: Enter the keywords in the keywords field. When you type, Photos suggest keywords that you have used before. Press enter when you have finished a keyword. To remove a keyword, select it and press DELETE.
      • Faces: Click on and type a name to identify a face. Click on several times, and then drag the identifier of the face different faces to identify many faces in a photo.
      • Location: Enter a location in the location field. When you type, Photos suggest places you can choose. To change a location, you can search a different location or change the location by dragging a PIN on the map. To remove location information, delete it or choose Image > location, then choose Remove location or back to the original location. You cannot assign a location if your computer is not connected to the Internet.

Show titles, other metadata and badges

Change the date and time of photo

You can change the date and time associated with a picture. You can do this if you are traveling to a location in another time zone, and your camera affect your dates photos and periods that are correct for your House, but not the place you visited.

    1. Select the photos you want to edit.
    2. Choose Image > adjust Date and time.
    3. Enter the date and time you want in the modified field.
    4. Click a time zone on the map, if necessary.

  • . EML files saved from Outlook Express in XP Mode change their date later in Windows 7

I use Outlook Express in XP Mode on Windows 7. Sometimes I "save under" taken from emails Outlook Express Inbox in my data drive D:\, which is accessible from the two XP-Mode (such as % ComputerName % D) and Windows 7 (such as D:\).
    I saved an email as messages in "D % computername%:\folder", say, July 9, 2014.
Then, 3 weeks later, I browse the D:\folder even under Windows 7 with Windows Explorer in Details view, and to my surprise, the update of this post changed July 29, 2014 at the precise moment that I'm over the file. The Date of creation remains as it was - 9 July 2014.
Surprises I encounter almost every day, both at home and at work, where I also use Outlook Express to receive emails in XP mode on Windows 7. Simply by looking at a folder that contains recently saved .eml, change files automatically their update at the present moment in time, without even opening an any of them.

This strange behavior is unique to .eml files. It does not affect any other type of file that I save in XP mode to be seen later in Windows 7.

Surprises I encounter almost every day... Simply by looking at a folder that contains recently saved .eml, Exchange files automatically their update at the present moment in time

When you head into a file in the Explorer, Windows will search to see if there is a manager of property for the type of file involved, and if there is, show a ToolTip which gives some of these properties. For an .eml file, it would be ofthe subject , DateReceived.

These data are extracted the message headers and written to an alternative stream (ADS) in the file Explorer can find them and post them. This would normally happen as soon as the file is written to disk if the location it is written in is indexed, then perhaps the folder that you saved it is not indexed.

Writing to the ADS is a change in the file, if its DateModified is updated accordingly. The file important dates are not affected - DateSent, DateReceived, DateCreated. Is this a problem?

This strange behavior is unique to .eml files.

I don't know if it's true. . EML files are plaintext files, so there is no provision for special properties in the file itself, because it is for, say, .doc or .jpg files. The NTFS file system is a file to has many flows of data, and this is where this type of metadata can be stored. If you want to keep your inviolate .eml files, save them to a FAT drive.

From database Oracle 12 c Release 1 (12.1), the executeBatch method has been improved so that it returns an array of int size which is the same as the number of records in the batch and each element of the returned array is the number of rows in the database affected by the corresponding batch record. For example, if the batch size is 5, then the executeBatch method returns an array of size 5. Error between the execution of the batch, the executeBatch method cannot return a value, instead, it throws a BatchUpdateException . In this case, the exception itself has a table size int n its form, where n is the number of successful Records executions. For example, if the batch is size 5 and the error occurs at the 4th record, then the BatchUpdateException has an array of size 3 (3 disks properly executed) and each element of represents it table how many rows were affected by each of them.

Oracle MERGE statement allows you to "upserts". You will need to check with Spring or Hibernate to see if they support this statement.

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/statements_9016.htm

Use of the MERGE statement to select rows in one or more sources for the update or insertion into a table or view. You can specify conditions to determine whether to update or insert into the target table or view.

This statement is a convenient way to combine several operations. It allows you to avoid the multiple INSERT , UPDATE , and DELETE the DML statements.

  • All files generated by a coil in sqlplus receive ownership of oracle: dba instead of the user of the BONE started sqlplus and run the script. There's a file with users owners of BONES of the coil.

All files generated by a coil in sqlplus receive ownership of oracle: dba instead of the user of the BONE started sqlplus and run the script. There's a file with users owners of BONES of the coil.

Script launched in until OS user 'A' on the 'A' server which launches sqlplus, then connects to a remote database through a service of tnsnames.ora as another user of the database and the results of this script are spoulées on the server "A".

The file queued on the old server is written with rw-rw-r: read write user, group read the writing, reading and possession header that is the user of the OS. The file queued on the new server is written to rw-r-r user: reading writing, reading group, public reading and ownership oracle: dba.

"" The user then has no privileges to modify the file and continue the process of transmitting the file, editing and deleting the file for the next set of commands. This allows us to keep the possibility to migrate to the new server we are unable to process orders.

    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/sqlplus - s user/password@prd1 @./script/CustomScript/R12_OM_UFPC-oracle.sql

Background: old server running 4.8, Oracle 10.2.0.4 OEL

New server running OEL 6.5, Oracle 11.2.0.4

    Tested so far:

File and update umask to 0002 instead of 0022 is now generated as rw-r-r. However, the property is still oracle: dba.

Update of ownershipt of $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle.exe of oracle: oracle (edi added the user to the oracle group) and chmod 6751 oracle.exe. This created several problems where crucial scripts, that is to say of sqlplus failed to run.

Added! chmod 755 output.file.name - OS user 'A' is not allowed to change to mod.

Added! command cp MV output file and that generated the file as a user of the operating system: oracle. It is a potential work around in case of emergency, but the developer would have to rewrite the countless scripts.

    Any ideas?

I have reproduced the behavior of the old server and am able to spool a file via sqlplus under OS user. No changes have been made on the remote database server. All the changes have been on the new server hosting a small 11.2.0.4 database on a server running OEL 6.5 32 - bit OS.

    (1) removed the sticky bit $ORACLE_HOME/bin/sqlplus using chmod u-s, g-s, o - s suggestion of Billy ~ Verreynne

    (2) modified the main group for the 'oracle' user match the user operating system applications, while maintaining membership in the groups 'oracle' and 'dba '.

-We are dealing with here EDI processes, so the Group was called edi.

    (3) modified property of the files tnsnames.ora and listener.ora for oracle: edi

    (4) restart the receiver

    (5) disconnect / reconnect

Script runs as expected, the output file contains the correct ownership and permissions.

Thank you all for taking a look and offering options.

    -Josh

  • Is there any task under the WSF to extract data from configuration of an instance as working Structures?

    Hello

Is there any task in the Installation Manager to extract data from configuration of an instance as working Structures, research etc.

I'm looking for the same kind that I could move all these configurations of one example to the other.

    Thank you

    Maury

The name of the task is to manage Configuration packages in the installation and maintenance program. You can see this document http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E48434_01/fusionapps.1118/e49542/F1166430AN11D30.htm

    HI Experts

I'm trying to convert the window (oracle 10g) to using linux (oracle 10g) in the light of the tutorial link. My database is in archivelog mode

  • How to restart the customer Oracle oracle instance

I have a server Oracle 10 g with DEVEL instance on AIX machine. I have an Oracle Client on the Windows machine as well. I want to stop and start the instance of my client DEV using .bat file. Is this possible? Does anyone know how to do it?

    KP >

Well, right now the correct question should be: how to start the database.
I am able to connect as sysdba DEVEL on AIX (as from Windows clients) and stop it but when I try to start it returns this message:

ORA-12505: TNS:listener is not currently of SID given in connect descriptor

but I'm still able to tnsping my client DEVEL...

Display the status of the listener, its content and the tnsnames.ora file entry. Here is how I got connected stopped and started. The process that I follow:
    (1) entry Made in listener.ora file as I said earlier, restarted the listener
    (2) Made in the tnsnames.ora file change
    (3) Connect since the closing of the client and started.

  • Basic question on the client connection to the Fund with several oracle instance

    Oracle 11:

I have just a basic question about how doing listener/customer determine how oracle instance to connect to:

1 tnsnames.ora and listener defines the configuration of the host and the port is that how he comes to know? I'm just trying to understand if the request comes to the listener how listener knows what Oracle instance to route traffic to?

    2. when I do sqlplus / as sysdba how knows what Oracle instance to connect to?

    Look at the differences
