Change of name for the system folder

I want to change the name of the folder owners precedent (in Documents and Settings), 'Bill', 'Sarah' (this computer was given to my daughter).  I get a message, "Bill is a Windows system folder...". It cannot be moved or renamed. ' Really?  Is it not there not simply changed the name of this folder?

Instead of changing the name of the file:

  1. Create a new user account named "Sarah".
  2. Copy (s) desired documents, photos, music and other files from the account of the Bill of Sarah.
  3. Remove the account from the Bill.

  • How to change group policy for the system restore will create restore point

I recently installed an SSD with windows 7, it's the default OS and hard drive on a system dual boot. I also have my old HHD with windows vista home premium. I had problems using the restore of the system with the SSD drive and read on a forum that the restoration of the system causes problems when it is used on an SSD. I have disable restoring the system to the SSD, but still he had checked to allow restoration on the vista disk and a 500 GB drive, I have use for storage.

I managed to create a restore point when you are using windows 7 OS, but when I used my vista drive, and wanted to create additional restore points for two HHD disks, it does not allow the creation of restore points by group policy settings. I regularly create restore for the SSD disk and have created one for the HHD Vista since the system restore does not create additional restore points now.

How can I change my group policy settings to enable restore points to create the disk under Vista. I don't remember changing anything that might have caused it, is there a chance that a horse of Trojan or virus caused this? I have Webroot antivirus and currently aired Kaspersky Anti-virus on Vista drive. I also ran the Microsoft safety scanner in safe mode and normal startup mode, none of the virus scanners have found problems, so I'm pretty sure I don't have a Trojan or a virus.

To the point, how to make appropriate changes to allow the restoration of the system to work for my two HHD disks.  Better yet is there a way to restore completely all original windows default system settings without having to do a clean reinstall.

You can provide any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hello

You receive an error message when creating a new system for Windows vista restore point?

    Using the Group Policy Editor

If your edition of Windows Vista includes the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) snap-in,

    Follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type gpedit.msc and press ENTER
    2. go to the following branch: Computer Configuration | Administrative templates | System | System restore
    3. double click on disable the Configuration and set it to not configured.
Note: If the above setting is already set to not configured, set it to "Enabled" and click on apply. Return back the setting to not configured, then click on apply, OK.
    4. exit the Group Policy Editor.

If using the Group Policy Editor do not fix the problem, try the registry fix from the following.

Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  • 3524 office: Change name for the scans

Somewhere in the past I changed name genric for scans of scan000X to a name, I prefer not to use it anymore. But I probably did before moving to Windows 10, because I knew where he change in Windows 7 (and earlier versions). How can I change the generic name for the (still) scans in Windows 10?

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP forum.

    1. Firstly, you must ensure that you have your software FULL of features installed.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-DeskJet-3520-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5162504/model/5241256#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930O2

    2. open the HP printer Assistant

    3. go to scan a Document

    4. go into 'advanced settings '.

    6. go to 'File' (or Destination)

There should be an option to change the generic name.

    Hope that helps!

  • Error message: "the file names would be too long for the destination folder.

I move the files from internal hard drive to external hard drive using cut and paste.  I get a message "the file name would be too long for the destination folder.  You can shorten the file name and try again, or try a location with a shorter path. "I then gives me choices to skip or cancel.  What happens to files that are ignored?  Are they deleted?  I don't want to lose all the data, but there are more 2 000 files with this problem, so passing by and rename each one really isn't a viable solution.  I don't really understand how the file names were originally created/saved about a problem that is only now that I want to move them.  The disc source and destination are NTFS.  Is there a solution for this?  It is imperative that no data is lost.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

N ° to check that what I say is correct, create a new folder
for the purposes of the trial and to make a copy of some files. To ensure that
one of them has a long name (rename if necessary), and then try to copy
These files on the external drive. When you get the message, choose
    'jump' and see what happens.

Inadvertently, I had a graduated filter changed all 326 images in my folder. How can I remove this change of images without affecting other types of changes, I did for the other images?

Select all images, ensuring that you are in the develop module. Auto-Sync lights up and then just delete the graduated filter. You will need to activate the graduated filter tool and click on the PIN for the filter you have defined and then press the delete key. Then, you want to disable automatic synchronization. Now, just highlight the image you want to add the graduated filter and do your thing with her.

  • Two different user names for the same account!

We bought my son a laptop and have set up a user account for him which is a standard user account and an administrator account to monitor and adjust security settings. However, our administrator account on the configuration page and the login screen is called MumandDad (which is what we want!) but when you go into Windows Live or the list of records or other areas where the username is the user name is Joseph. User account from my son named Joseph on connect to the Setup page and the page, but once again under folders etc. it is called Joseph2 - what should I do so that all folders/accounts read the same as the log in / page of the control panel?

Joseph2 is not an account name - is the name of the profile folder. If the name of the profile folder generally conform with the name of the account, there is sometimes a difference. There is nothing to worry about - just leave it as it is. Change it and can cause serious problems.

  • Cisco MX700 not save the name of the system or ntp

    Hello

We have a new system of telepresence MX700. When I put the name of the system under Setup > System Configuration > system unit and click on save button name will update what to expect on the touchpad. If I restart the system setting is lost without fail. Even with ip address of the ntp server.  Does anyone else have this problem?

The problem is a problem because the name of the system is that the appliance uses when it registers with DHCP, which means in turn that the DNS name keeps changing to "localhost" instead of the name that I chose.

    The code is

    Current version
    TC7.3.0.8cb420c

    thank you
    Dallas

When you sign up at one end of the telepresence to CUCM, endpoint configuration is CUCM.

Administration of endpoints running on 10.5.1 UCM TC7.2

See pg 21 for SSH and pg 25 for the name of the system.  Probably best to review the entire document to make sure that everything is set correctly, just in case.

I don't see NTP in this guide, but found one guide older where he told to do the following:

Setting a NTP Reference for the endpoints In UCM Administration > System > NTP Reference Configure a Phone NTP Reference for the endpoints. *The NTP Reference must be in Unicast Mode. *Assign to Date/Time Group, which in turn is assigned to Device Pool.

  • Windows 8.1 - permissions of files - do not have access to the files since the abolishment of all permissions except for the system and my own useraccount.

I had to put in my computer to the repairshop, so I changed the filepermissions on a large foldertree to all permissions for my own useraccount and all permissions for the SYSTEM account, but deliberately deleted the permissions on this folder to 'Administrator', since the repairshop started getting their own account and I had to make that account a member of the Administrators group.

Now I'm stuck with a bunch of folders and files (strangely, this didn't happen to * all * files under the folder in question) that I can't read or delete, when logged in as the useraccount with all permissions on the files. I've tried everything, and while I had to click on a dialog box explore asking me to provide administrator access to subfolders in the folder in question, some folders becomes fully accessible (possibly), but some button blown up a "Try again" in explore a dialog box - which has sometimes worked but for some records * didn't * work to resume the TP to my own files.

I want to know how I can find the full access to these files.

Talk about the size of a cargojet bug...

If your own username is a member of the Administrators group, then all you have applied to this group is for you also.

I would like to start by trying to change only the owner of the files to yourself.  Apply and when finished, close all.  Then go back and change only the permissions that should be easier now that you own on everything.

  • How can I move files to the system folder?

    Hi all

I was wondering how to move files to the system folder. With the update to El Capitan and the former program is no longer works and the developer suggests moving some files on the system folder that should fix it, but even if an administrator account I don't have write access to the system-> library folder where they need to go. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Steve

In short: you do not have. The folder/System is only for Apple.  The new protections in El Capitan make it impossible for you to place the files.

This is what the folder/library for: install additional components to the system, but keeping them separated from the basic installation.

What software are you trying to run? What files we told you to move? I'm curious to know what type of developer will tell you to put the files in / System.

I love the develop module, but I'm doing something wrong in the library

In the library, under 'Catalogue, all the photographs', all my photos appear showing the stars, cropping, and development. The problem is that these changes are not for the photos on my hard drive. When I re-import them in Lr, the changes are not there. My workflow is to do nothing after development or export them to the original with a new file name destination. Anyway, it is that they get a new file name without change of development when they are imported into Lr.  Please help (PC user)

And others have explained, Lightroom does not apply the changes to the file. All changes are stored in the catalog, and then applied to the image when it is displayed in Lightroom. If you want a copy of the image with any changes so that you can share with others or send it to a laboratory to print, then you must export a copy of this image by using the export dialog box in Lightroom.

Features of Lightroom as well by its design. The images that you import are always left in their original condition, unmodified.
