  Hi all, I don't know it is a simple problem, but I was try and fight the scourge. If all goes well it will take someone smarter than me almost no time at all. I am trying to contact a relay via the serial port (http://www.controlanything.com/Relay/Device/R45PRO ) box. It has a set of simple controls and looks like it should be easy. Unfortunately, the box is awaiting receive a number (an ' ASCII Code' as their described manual) rather than a normal ASCII character. So, if I try to send this "254" is he talking about listening to a command, the write VISA function it sends 50,53,52 or some such.   Yes, it is a way to do it, but it's complicated bloody!

  You have to find the longest continuous section you can (IE no change at all) and loop that. Although the chances are that you will always hear the join. So what you do is take your section in loop and turn it into a single file. You take this file and place a copy of it under the original track, only offset by about 1/3 to 1/2 the length of the loop - 1/3 is quite good, because you can do it again, so then you have loads of overlapping samples. Chances are when you play together, they will blend more smoothly. You may need to experiment a little, but I'm sure you get the basic idea.

  If the samples are really short, then you make a loop of loops - a much easier way to extend that just stick several sections over and over.

  Otherwise, look for some samples longer - I'm sure there are some.

  I think the secret is to have a mnu file, which defines what will appear in the palettes. You can create one by modifying the pallets (under Tools > advanced) and there you should be able to delete items and change the icon from the palette by made a right click. Probably, you should also make sure that the mnu file is saved in the same folder, so that you can have in other PCs. Note that the palette editor has this annoying confirmation dialog which tends to hide under other windows and you need at the end of editing, so go to somewhere you can find it before you start editing.

  Another option is the use of VIPM to install the driver, and which will also allow you to edit a range.
