change password and the name of windows
I bought this laptop used, I want out former users of information, his name is on all my files etc. I tried to change the windows password, but his name came and I do not have his password. There is no way to get this information from him.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L305. It runs Windows Vista Edition home premium.
I was about to launch the recovery disks, but I thought I'd check here first of all for a better way.

I forgot the password and user name for windows xp
I accidentally locked my computer and now it asks username and password (windows xp). Unfortunately I forgot the two. Is it possible to reset it?
If you have forgotten your password, if you have another user who has administrative privileges account you can log in to that account and change the password of your account of origin of the user accounts applet in Control Panel. If you do not have another account like this set upwards or that you do not have the password which you will need to log on to the built-in Administrator account. In XP Home, start the computer in Mode safe. This, by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. This will put you in the right menu. Navigate using your arrow up; the mouse does not work here. Once in safe mode, you will see the normally hidden administrator account. The default password is white.
In XP Pro, you don't need to go to Safe Mode. In the home screen, do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to get the classic Windows logon box. Type in "Administrator" and the password that you assigned when you set up Windows.
If you have XP Pro or Media Center and have been using the account administrator for your regular work so it is the only user account on the system, there are ways to change the password for this account to a white. Microsoft does not allow us to tell how, in these forums. Their House, their rules. Use Google or ask a technician to the local computer (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad of the place). I use Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 as a file server. I create new user 'A' in Windows Server 2003 as well with the option "user must change password at the next logon" selected and give way under the group users and users in the domain for this user. I then share an output folder. User 'A' is using Windows XP SP3 to connect to this shared folder. However, when I try to connect, Windows reappear to enter user name and password. I think it is the limitation in Windows that the user 'A' will be unable to change the password at the next logon or change password at any point in time at all. Correct me if I heard wrong.
If possible, can someone enlighten me what is wrong or what I need to do for user to access folder and change the password on the first logon.
If what I described is not possible, is there another way for me to configure for the user to access share folder so that the user doesn't have to join domain or user of the AD?

How can I remove the user name and the image of Windows XP new Start Menu
Two questions:
1. How can I delete the user name and the image of Windows XP new start; and
2. my computer keeps asking me to press the F1 key to start Windows. How to skip this part?
Thank you.
Hello
The image of user account can be removed by disabling the Welcome screen. Or, by opting for the classic Windows theme. Follow the method described in this article, if you want to remove the user name and the picture in the Start Menu, without disabling the Welcome screen and Windows XP theme.
For those who want to delete the user name and the image of user account from the Start Menu, in order to have a blue white Panel at the top, try this:

(For example, if your user name is Robert, rename Robert.bmp to old_Robert.bmp)c. then rename the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft account Pictures\Default pictures
to something else, for example,.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft account Pictures\No_Default images.Step 2:
To remove the user name, follow these stepsa. Click Start, click "RUN" and type "regedit.exe" and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER-Software-Windows Microsoft\------CurrentVersion-policies-Explorerb. in the right pane, the value NoUserNameInStartMenu-value data 1.
c. close Regedit.exe and restart Windows.
You'll find yourself with a blue area at the top of the Start Menu.
Regarding the pressing 'F1' to start Windows, you have made no changes or was there a system crash after which the problem started?
You may need to change the boot sequence in the BIOS to the default settings. I recommend you contact your PC vendor for this.
Warning of the BIOS:
BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk. -
Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Server
Client-side: Windows 8The problem:
I create a new user and let the "user must change password at the next logon' checked. When I try to log in with the newly created user I get an error saying "User must change password at the next logon" after ptoviding the new password.
At this point if I uncheck the "user must change password at the next logon', then the user can connect properly.
Can someone help me. Please let me know any problem OS compatibility between the server and the OS cleint.

I am connected to wifi in the hotel (Orange) and I can't SEND email, I just have to receive them.
Whenever I update "send/receive" a message asking me to write the network password and user name. This from my mail server (not orange because that one is ok I have access to the internet).
Most of the suppliers do not let you send if you are not connected through them, or they have special settings. So for now, see if you can access your e-mail via webmail and use this interface and in the future, contact your ISP and ask them if there is a way to send emails when you are connected through a different network.

How can I change the name of 'folio' and the ' name of the publication?
Hello
We have published a multi-folio application a unique folio in it.
We would like to change the name of 'folio' and "the name of the publication" and we tried to do by using the dashboard. However, when clicking on "update" we box unchecked the "update content", because there is no change to the content of the folio. The problem is that this did not change anything in the application: the 'folio name' and "the name of the publication" remain the same...
Is it possible to do without having to republish this folio?
Thank you!
Olivier.
