change public network to the private sector

I'm working on a laptop HP Envy Touchsmart.  Model number is 15-j057cl.  He had a serious hard disk crash, and I am trying to recharge using the USB stick recovery at HP, because there is no CD/DVD drive.  Windows 8.

All the drivers are loaded.  I have an internet connection via a wireless network, but not through the wired one.  All of the other PCs in my office are working very well, wired and wireless.  The cable network presents itself as an unidentified network and is a public network.  I've hunted in Microsoft and HP to find out how plugged it, identified and classified as a private network.  I have the link on the laptop and the network switch lights.   I changed the Cat5e cable with a good I use on another PC and still have the issue.

The wired NIC Realtek PCIe GBE does not have DNS information, as it is constantly with the default Microsoft IP of 169.254.64.151.

Any help would be appreciated.  Wireless connectivity is fine when you are mobile, but in the environment of office stationery, I need the wired connection speed.

Hi RalphJones,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I see you have some connectivity issues with your Ethernet connection. As a private network to do what you need to do is set a password on the network. You need to talk to your the one that supplied to your wireless router.

We will try a few things. First let's make sure that you do not use a Proxy Server. To do this, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Open your Internet Explorer to your desktop computer from the Apps page

Step 2. Click Tools and then click Internet options
Step 3. Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings
Step 4. Select the use a proxy server for your LAN check box
Step 5. In the address box, type the address of the proxy server
Step 6. Check "automatically detect connection settings.
Step 7. When you have finished your changes

Step 8. Click OK and then click OK again

Then press the Windows key and 'R' to open the command run and then type cmd and press ENTER. This will bring up your command prompt and type ipconfig and press ENTER. Enter the default gateway, because it's your router. Then use the Ping section and this document howtogeek.com DNS server problems to see if you can reach the Web page of the router.

If you can not reach the router then we will examine reseting the TCP/IP stack. Go to your command prompt and type netsh winsock reset catalog, and then press ENTER. Then type netsh int ip reset reset.log and press ENTER. Then, restart your computer. This will reinstall the protocols internet on your computer in case it has been altered.

Thank you

  • Change a theme from the private to the public

Just saved a theme after signing up and I was wondering, why it does not appear under themes/Newest.

Well, I had 'saved' instead of 'release' it.

So, I'm sorry. How can I change the theme in a public?

    Thank you.

    You can do the following:

Sign in to Kuler and go to MyKuler. Click the theme that you have created and click the button "make changes to this theme and view color values. You will find that button right next to the button "Download this theme. Then, change the theme to 'Public' and save the theme.

  • Join the public network through the firewall option MCU Conference

Hello world! Lately, we have a goal to jabber (without vpn) of internet users to join conferences within our network. Our telepresence infrastructure includes VCS, MCUS and endpoints (MX, SX). I discovered that MCU (4505) has a feature called video firewall option (under license). My question is whether it will be sufficient to achieve our goal? I've also heard that VCS expressway is used. What is the difference between these two?

Firewall MCU option just the second NETWORK card, so you can have one with a public IP address and the second with a private IP address (essentially NAT'ed), and the internal and external clients will be connecting to a virtual meeting room common pre-configured on the MCU.

The VCS-E (Expressway) works in tandem with your VCS - C to offer secure firewall courses. VCS - C is located on the inside of you firewall and the VCS-E is normally in the demilitarized zone.

This allows, among other things, external systems to call your systems using H.323 and SIP URI dial, this includes clients of JabberVideo, but not Jabber client CPU.

For Jabber clients you would deploy normally expressway-e series, see http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/unified-communications/expressway-series/datasheet-c78-730478.html and http://ciscocollab.wordpress.com/2014/01/29/deploying-collaboration-edge/ - whether it will work with your existing deployment is another story, you might be better off ultimately to something similar to Pexip or Acano - both were developed by former TANDBERG/Codian/Cisco engineers.

  • Is the responsibility of the private sector in this context error

    QObject *listView = root->findChild("listView");
listView->setProperty("dataModel", groupDataModel); //This line returns error: 'QVariant::QVariant(void*)' is private within this context

listView is a ListView declared in QML where groupDataModel is a declared GroupDataModel in C++.

Any thoughts on what might have caused the error? I'm sorry if this question sounds stupid, Im just learn QML.
    Thank you

    Hello

setProperty expected QVariant, but he could not find a constructor appropriate for storing QObject in QVariant.

You can directly reference the ListView instead:

    ListView *listView = root->findChild("listView");
    listView->setDataModel(groupDataModel);

  • Secondary public network on the external interface

We already have a range of public address configured on the external interface (213.XX. YY. ZZ/29). Our supplier we've assigned a new range of public addresses (62.XX. YY. ZZ/29).

How can I configure this on the PIX?

PS: as far as I know, the secondary addresses are not possible!

    Hello

You don't need to configure anything on the PIX make you just as your ISP routes the new addresses to your PIX - then you can use the new address to what you like.

  • Configuring the private network or disable questions for the network discovery in network and sharing Center.

I just got my laptop all cleaned and had everything updated. When I got it back I was mainly concerned how my network and discovery sharing would work, because we never had a home computer and a laptop computer at a time. Our PC at home has always defined for a private network. Today, they are both defined for the private sector, the laptop will probably always be at home too, but I was curious to see how the printer share everything would work on my laptop. It would not print and I checked just the settings that the guy I of any program for me usually had the top settings. On my laptop that I was first checking out and the network discovery has been to custom on both, one on my PC was on, laptop has never been verified we or off, file sharing has been enabled on both. public folder sharing off on both, printer sharing turned off the PC at home, but on laptop, so much time, I guess me to turn on the PC I don't know yet. Printer password sharing is on the PC and laptop. I try essentially whether it is what you would call a custom setting make for a firewall setting, or could someone please just kinda tell me if the sharing of network discovery should be turned on on the laptop and the PC, or was it not suppose to be turned on to the laptop, but on the PC only? Which should be lit and which should not be enabled in the configuration of the private network? I just want to be able to print my laptop if I want to. Thank you

  • How can I change my public network location at in Win7?

On my server I am running Win 7 Pro 64 - bit (SP1) with an Ethernet cable to my router.

I have several other network devices in my network, including wired and wireless, Win 7 PCs, PC Win XP and other facilities such as the backup network and media center.  I have problems with devices see each other (in particular my server) and the sharing of resources (files and printing).

On my server, I am able to connect to the internet via my wired connection.  However, in the "network and sharing Center" under active networks I see "You are currently not connected to all the networks."  The link "Connect to a network" shows that I have no networks to connect to.   When I try to connect to my home group or create a homegroup, I said "To create or join a homegroup, network location of your computer must be on home."  Mine is set to public and I can't change it to make this change requires me to click on the home/work/Public icon/link in my active network and I don't have any network active (or inactive).  There is therefore no link to allow me to access the dialog box 'change the network location '.

I tried (no problem found) network outages and homegroup troubleshooting (no problem found).

I did do a Win 7 repair facility to solve configuration problems: I cannot access any network.  However, my original drive is an OEM Windows 7 Pro 64 bit without SP1.  Now that my machine was on SP1 for about a year, it does not allow me to do a repair installation, and the version on my machine is more recent (PLU) of what is on the installation disc.  Also, I considered uninstalling SP1, but which also failed.  An error message about missing files. I even tried uninstalling SP1 command-line and which also failed.

What can I do to solve this problem before a thorough cleaning of your disc drive and a clean installation?

    UPDATED: February 13, 2015 - finally fixed!

The post on January 28, 2015 by BennyPootron led me to the solution.

In RegEdit, to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles", I deleted all the profiles under the present (I had three).

In addition, "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Signatures\Unmanaged" were three matching items which I also deleted.  This clean slate, so to speak, and when I rebooted, I could change my location of home network and join my home group.

Thanks to BennyPootron for the idea that led to my solution.

I don't know if this applies to Windows 7, but it does not work in Windows 8 and Windows 10.

    (1) open 'RegEdit '.

    2) go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles".

    (3) find the location of the network

    (4) change the 'Category' DWORD to 1

If this does not work, remove the key from the network, restart your computer and repeat.  It should work after that.

Not exactly the answer, but what led to the solution.  FINALLY FIXED!   Here's how:

In RegEdit, "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles" I had three profiles with names such as {4A3BFF36-4EA6-4415-AA5F-46CE449C95AB}.  I tried several things, including changing the DWORD value of the 'Category' 1 item in all three of these profiles.  It does NOT work.

However, I have finally deleted all three profiles.

In addition, "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Signatures\Unmanaged" were three matching items which I also deleted.  This clean slate, so to speak.

    IT WORKED!

When I rebooted, I was able to change my network from the Public to the private, and he walked me through the process of joining an existing group established by another computer in our House.

Finally almost 3 years after my original post, I have fixed the problem.

Thanks to BennyPootron for the idea of a solution.

  • Lightroom will not change to the private collection

I have a collection that I made public and then tried to change to the private sector.  When I click on the "Make private" button, I get a message that the collection is now private.  However, the link remains and the button still says 'make private '.  Whereas it should change to 'Go Public' and the link should disappear.  When I click on the link, the browser opens and gives a 404 error code.  How can I fix it?

  • Changes to the network when the reconfiguration of the DHCP server to the static IP address

I installed new positions of work on my network and had WDS push the image so we have installed DHCP to do this. After all the work stations were Setup, I started to change static IP DHCP on the workstations as we prefer to use static IP addresses.  Some computers work fine, some don't. The problem I have is when changing from a static IP, as active network passes the network of the area to the Public network. However, when it is configured to use DHCP, the active network is the domain network. What am I, I missing which will cause the active networks of change to public networks at the static IP change? I checked the settings ip IP, Subnet, DG and DNS and they seem correct. I tried to withdrawal, join. I tried the update NIC driver. I tried to uninstall the NETWORK adapter and reboot. If anyone has seen this before?

  • "UDP receiver.vi" does not work on the type of "public" network but on a private type and the field. Why so much?

I have a configuration Ethernet with 'UDP sender.vi' and "UDP receiver.vi" basically back in as the eponymous example shipped in LabVIEW examples i.e. pair. Nothing special and quite basic.

The UDP sender regularly sends out UDP (30 bytes) packets to the receiver using the number of receivers IP and port 80. However, the port number is not interest to the problem.

The sender and the receiver are different machines, but the two LabVIEW 2011sp1/32, Win7/64
If it is running on a domain network, it works very well. If it runs on a 'public' (Windows Firewall terminology) using the network - IP number data comes through in the Receiver.vi 'UDP '!

    I checked what is obvious:

    1. The packets arrive actually in the network interface (checked with Wireshark) UDP receiver computers. For example. Connection via the sender's public network and firewall it meets on his way there.
    2. firewall on the receiver PC is open for incoming traffic on port 80 for the public (and private + domain name) and open for all programs and allowing the crossing side (there is a router with NAT translation upstream). We even tried to disable the firewall completely - no change.
    3. A program with a similar function as ' UDP Receiver.vi ' but written in C++ running in the same exact state, works as expected.
    4. same "UDP Receiver.vi" running on a target RT (sbRIO9606 or cRIO9024) and off the coast of the exact same cables copper - works as expected.
    5. It is tested on several PCs with the same results.

For example. everything is, as far as I can see, according to the 'books', and again, I must have missed at least one book. The data arrives in the PC network stack - otherwise the program c ++ would work either. So what is done differently in LabVIEW?

Any suggestions as to why a C++ program or a RIO can read the 'public' port UDP, but such a LabVIEW program cannot? And especially what can be done to solve it.

    Thank you
    Henning

There are many other services that is blocked by nature in Windows when you use a network connection of type 'Public '.  Have you added an exclusion for LabVIEW so LabVIEW is not blocked when using a network of type "Public"?
