Windows 7 continues to change network to the Public network without asking confirmation

Windows 7 keeps changing home network to the Public network without asking for confirmation. I used the troubleshooter and it has not shown "no valid ip configuration". I reinstalled the driver but it does not work. What should I do?

  • Scan the drive running without asking confirmation

I need help from someone who knows more than me on Vista and my PC.  I have an eMachines under Vista Home Premium; 32-bit operating system.  All of a sudden my computer run a Scan disk (CHKDSK) every time it reboots and even started to do it without reason in broad daylight.  It takes almost 3 hours for her to run and I can't understand how interrupt or prevent it from happening.  It is probably pretty basic, but not for a novice.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hi Jwdeloach,
Welcome to the Microsoft Answers forum
First, click on start > run > bring up a command prompt by typing "Cmd" and type "fsutil dirty query d:". He asks the reader, and more likely, it will just tell you that it is dirty. Then, type "CHKNTFS /X D:". The X tells Windows to NOT check this particular drive during the next reboot. At that time, manually restart your computer, it should not do a Chkdsk and take you directly to Windows.

Once Windows has finished loading, set up an another CMD prompt and now you want to do a Chkdsk manually by typing "Chkdsk /f /r d:". This should take you through 5 stages of analysis and will unset that dirty little. Finally, type "fsutil dirty query d:" and Windows will confirm that the dirty bit is not set on this drive. Good luck!

    Thank you

  • Windows 8 continues to change my power randomly plan options

  • Date and time system continues to change each time the system starts.

I noticed that the time and date of my home PC gets changed every time the system is booted. The default date is set for Jan. 2008, when in fact it should be July 2014.

Also, my PC became slow death. I use Windows 7 on 1 GB of RAM, 250 GB PC. I used last my home PC 2 years back, but there has always been someone to use it.

It shows the OS disk to 7 GB of free, when in fact I never installed or anything unnecessary stored on the disk of BONE; Whatever unnecessary programs were there, I uninstalled them recently, keeping just a few essential ones. After uninstalling, it shows to 7 GB of free, when in fact it should be more than that.

I use Avast anti-virus, which I think is unnecessary, that its not to protect my PC and as other programs, too, is quite dead slow.

The system is infected by viruses? Manually, I checked the system for viruses and clean the system of all unnecessary and, program files, but I'm still not sure whether it is a virus or a PC problem.

I am a COMPUTER analyst, and's just done it 2 days that I use my PC at home. I could format my PC, or where applicable be buy Windows 8 with a new processor.

    Please advise.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Ralph Davidson.

    Hello

You really need a minimum of at least 2GBs of RAM to run Windows 7 well enough.

As you have only 1 GB of RAM, which seems to be one of the reasons why it is slow.

Increase the physical RAM or try ReadyBoost:

Looks like you have some problems.

    Wrong Date/time

If after you set the Date and time, and then stop and restart your machine and the time returns to the year 2008, and she did this whenever you reset, then restart the PC you have a CMOS battery has failed in the motherboard.

They cost about $5 and are easy to replace.

"How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the files on system missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7"

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

  • Windows 8 user unable to connect to the public AT & T Wifi networks (McDonald's, Starbucks, FedEx desktop, etc.).

I searched here and I have not found anyone else with this issue, but I can't be the only one.

In the event that I am the first, my problem is that I can't connect to the public AT & T WiFi networks; McDonald, being the most common location.  It appears in the list of wireless networks, but it takes forever for the McDonald's to open web page in the box that says something like "Connect to the Internet" or words to that effect.  Finally after clicking this check box, a message appears at the bottom of the page indicating that the webpage is not responding; Click to refresh it.  No matter how many times I try it, nothing happens.

I have Windows 8 on a Toshiba Satellite.  It's a new laptop comes with Windows 8; No updates to otherwise than to buy this new laptop.

What is strange, is that I am on a WiFi network at the moment.  "Wandering WiFi" to be precise.  But I tried to get on AT & T at Starbucks earlier this evening and had the same success that I had at McDonald's.

I'm pretty sure that I don't mess with settings wireless on my pc but I can't say that for sure 100%.

Sorry to see that you are having problems. Please, try the following.

    Restart the device

Make sure that all the updates have been applied.

    • Open the network connections Panel
    • Select the network connection corresponding to either right click (mouse) or hold by selecting (finger).
    • A Context Menu will appear. Please Select forgotten network.
    • After the network connection is dropped, please reconnect.

    Hello

    1. when exactly you get invites him to install SpareBackup.msi?

    Method 1:

I recommend you perform the clean boot that this issue could be caused by some third party software.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Note:

After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

    Method 2:

You can also download and run a full scan of the system using the Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if the problem is caused by a Virus/Malware.

    Note:

The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

  • I leave the public beta without restoring?

I had no problem with version beta, so I do not need to downgrade my phone. I wonder if I can just unregister then wait for the next general release with a higher than the build that I'm on. Say so let the public beta, once the official iOS 10.0 is released, will be my offer to phone me the regular version of 10.0.1 when coming out a few weeks later? Or I'll be in a limbo land where is no update available again?

You can wait for the official release.

See the following information to https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/faq

Always save your iOS device before installing the beta software. To obtain a release of the expedition of the iOS on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you can simply install the final version of the software you're testing when it appears in the software update. If you want to return to a previously published version, you must first delete the beta software, and then re - install the latest version of iOS and finally restore from your backup iTunes saved previously.

  • Can I change the server port, but Windows Mail continues to change at 25

I can get my outgoing mail working by changing the port from 25 to 587, but whenever I close the Windows Mail application and re-open it, it comes back to port 25 (and will not work). Thanks for the help!

You should always back up when you use a Microsoft product.  Your hard drive may die too.  But deleting the e-mail account does not delete messages, and repair the database will not ruin it.  I have not had one person complaining about this program (WMUtil) except for one person who said their antivirus software falsely reported that the file is infected (it was not).
