Change the information on the lock screen

Hello

I'm curious to know if there is a way to change the information displayed on the lock screen that appears when a child account tries to access a blocked Web site?  Change the text to 'Ask the permission of your parents' or to be able to add a graphic, really any kind of customization would be good.

Thank you.

  • When I try to change my lock screen wallpaper I get error saying "setting of the lock screen has failed. Please try again ".

    Original title: locking error screen

Hello. I use Win 8 Pro x 64 and I'm having a problem affecting the lock screen wallpaper. I am the admin of the machine and Windows is activated.

After a few days ago, Windows stopped to change my lock screen background. When I try to change it, the error is displayed on the screen:

    LOCK SCREEN ERROR

Setting the lock screen has failed. Please try again.
However, I can still change my profile picture and the bottom of the start menu.
Other users of the computer can change the lock screen normally. My user account is linked to my Outlook.com account as well as others.
I already tried the other 'solutions' out there: in doing a selective startup with msconfig, disable services applications at startup and also manually delete the folder "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\SystemData". Needless.
I also have the feeling of other users on the web: it's somehow connected to some Windows updated published these days.
I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Hi, Tadasha. Thanks for the reply.

In regards to KB 2770917 updates, I already installed it on my Win 8 as well as others (I keep the OS always up to date). So it has not really helped but thanks.
On the tip of the gob0nkers is not really the case here, because I don't want to set a wallpaper of single lock for each user (in fact I had already read his answer to the question of ch). So far I have found no article on the web by offering an effective way to work around the problem.
What I've done: created another user profile and abandoned the old (who introduced the problem). I think that it is related to the file the user AppData or something.
So far things are working well with the new profile of the user.
    Thanks for the help!
  • Cannot customize the lock screen - locked by 'group policy' - but I am the administrator?

I can't change the lock on my computer screen. It runs Windows 8 and every time I try to change it it wont let me click on anything either and it says that some settings have been disabled by group policy.

However, there is no other user on this computer, and I use an account is the administrator. It only started showing about two months after I first of all of the computer. I would change my lock screen because my current custom background is white and it is difficult for me to see the time and notifications.

  • How to activate the lock screen windows 8

I have a new computer with windows 8 (non-professional version). When I started my computer last week the screen lock always came first. Now, I noticed (a week later) is not longer to come, but goes straight to the log in page. I went to my bar of charms and customization selected and noticed the screen lock options are grayed out and in red letters is says "this page has been disabled by group policy" I am the owner and the administrator and have never knowingly changed anything.

I did some research and everyone says to change that I need to access the local Group Policy Editor by typing pgedit.msc in the run bar. When I do that I get nothing. More research says that this feature is available only in windows 8 Professional. I don't have the professional version then how this lock screen changed. More importantly, how I have re activate the lock screen?

    Hi Sam,

I apologize for the delay in response.

It is unfortunate that your problem is still not resolved. I would suggest trying the following methods and check to see if they help.

Method 1: Use the registry editor

    1. Press on the key of the Windows Logo + R.
    2. Type regedit.
    3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/Desktop/NameSpace.
    4. Find the key: {B4FB3F98-C1EA-428d-A78A-D1F5659CBA93}.
    5. Double-click on the default value in the right pane and the value on others.

If this does not resolve your problem, there are corruptions in the system folders. I try to check the use of method 2.

    Method 2: Scan SFC

Verification of the file system (CFS) is a utility built into the operating system that will check for the corruption of system files. The sfc/scannow command. (System File Check) analyzes the integrity of all protected operating system files and replaces incorrect versions, damaged, altered, or damaged with correct versions where possible.

To do this please follow the article below

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833/en-us

Just reply with SFC scan results.

Hope this information was useful. Please answer with the results and if you need help or have any other questions about Windows, we are here to help.

  • Contacts available on the lock screen?

Can I do my contacts phone or recent calls available on the lock screen, in case I lose my phone and a good Samaritan wants to return. They might want to look for 'Mother' or the person called most. In addition, they can answer the phone if it has a password and I try to call it from another phone? I would rather not turn off the access code.

    Thank you

If you lose your device, you can lost Mode and put a number address and/or email phone on the home screen. In addition, if you call the phone, it does not require the unlock code to answer the call. They could answer a call without unlock. You do not want personal information outside the phone for anyone to see. Even just your recent calls list.

  • Reminders collage is more the lock screen in iOS 10

I have a set daily reminder to remember to do something at the same time every day. In iOS 9, the recall would stick to the lock screen until I scored it's over. It was good, because he made sure I had done, even if it was a number of hours later. Now that I have updated to iOS 10, I noticed that the recall is declining since the lock screen as soon as I unlock and it does not return. Is there a setting I can change to make this change to the old way?

    Hi geektranzl8r,

It seems that your reminders are not visible on your screen once it reminds you of your tasks after upgrade to IOS 10. Maybe it's because some of the parameters that have changed the default upgrade. Try to set up notification of recalls. The links below can help you get your app to reminders and notifications of locking screen set up exactly how you like it!

    Notifications on your lock screen

In iOS 10, you can interact with notifications on the lock screen to catch up on the news, answer messages and more without unlocking your device.
Here are a few ways in which you can view and interact with the lock screen notifications:
To view your lock screen, press the Home button or the sleep/wake. If you have an iPhone 6s or later, pick up your device to see the lock screen.
To respond to a notification, by sweeping left on it, and then tap answer. If you have an iPhone 6s or later, use can use Touch 3D. Just press the notification deeply, then answer.
To open the application to answer, drag right on the notification.

Use reminders on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

These measures should do the trick. Please use the Apple Support communities to post your question. Enjoy iOS 10.

  • iOS 10 how to hide the lock screen

It is shocking how much personal information is displayed on the lock screen, including my appointments, places of time that I set myself, apps that I use, notifications, etc.  When my phone is locked, I want to block completely and nothing visible until it is unlocked by me. How is that defined?

Application settings > Touch ID & password > ALLOW ACCESS when THEY are BLOCKED > disable anything you don't want be accessible when the screen is locked.

  • Can I set the time on the lock screen is?

When I turn on my iPhone (6 s), the first thing I see is my lock screen.  It only stays on for a few seconds, then disappears.  If I'm not enough fast slide my finger to the right to get to my home screen, I have re - activate my phone.  Is there a way I can set or change the time that the lock screen stays on?

I don't know how to set the auto-lock function which turned the iPhone off after a certain period of inactivity.  It's different.  The automatic locking of setting has no effect on the amount of time that the lock screen remains lit.

How do I set the time to stay on the lock screen?

Have you considered simply use Touch ID?  In this way, it wouldn't even matter if you could see your lock screen.  Just push the "home" button and then tap your finger on the home button and your iPhone will unlock.
