change the installation drive

I would like to change the installation disc; Adobe chooses always the C: drive instead of gave me a chance to change that...

C: is full and I want to install on my hard drive D:

Someone has an idea or a suggestion if it is possible to do?

Adobe says on its site of installation routine always chooses the "normal"... application disc

THX in advance

Enforcement CC itself will always install main programs on the root of the system drive, just like some shared components. Having at least some space available on this drive is mandatory and you cannot change this behavior. You can change the installation path of the actual programs once you have these prerequisites in place.

I try to run the installation on my new webcam and it tells me I don't have enough disk space, what is true on the D drive that should be reserved for the only programs of systems, my C drive where I want to install has over 140 GB of free space and my ram is 1.94 GB. During the installation it does not give me a prompt for what reader, I want the program must be installed. And I don't know how to change it to. C drive is where I want to this installer.

Restart the computer in Safe Mode. See if you can access program files. If so, you probably some type of malware blocks your access and perhaps even changed your permissions.

  • Satellite Pro L500-1W4 - cannot install Win 7 Pro after changing the HARD drive

    Hi all

    I need assistance with Windows.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro with Windows 7 preinstalled pro and the recovery DVD to downgrade to Windows XP Pro.
I had to change the hard drive, so I try to reinstall Windows 7 from the recovery CD, but it does not work. He said that it is not possible to install this on this machine.

So I tried with Windows XP CD recovery and no problem
I'd rather have windows Windows 7 but I do not know how to retrieve
Last information, the Windows XP CD recovery came with the laptop that Windows 7 was made by the store who sold me the computer.

    Thank you for your help

As far as I know there is not a kind of limitation and if there is no problem with the original recovery for Win7 disc, you should be able to install it on any HARD disk that you use with your machine.
I upgraded HDD to the SSD on my installation of picture machine and the restore worked without any problems.

To be honest, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but the Win7 installation disc is somehow suspect for me. I don't know what model of laptop you have exactly, but somehow, I feel you didn t get original drive Win7. Best evidence is the Windows XP Home edition recovery disk. The prinziple with Win7 is the same and it should works.

When you use this disk you should have the menu as shown on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

This document explains how this works with the original installation disc of recovery.

  • No option to change the installation location of the program

    Hello

I have problems with my laptop running Vista Basic.

Whenever I try to install a new program, it automatically starts the installation on drive C.  There is no opportunity to change the installation location.  It must now to the point where drive C is almost full yet D drive is almost empty.

Is it possible I can get Vista to start giving me the option to choose where I would like the installation to occur or may simply change the default location?  I don't have a problem with the deletion of all programs that are running on my laptop that I have all the disks necessary to reinstall, I just can't continue as things are.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Andy

If you get a choice of the place where the software is the responsibility of the installer, no windows.  I would say it's time to start looking in an upgrade of the hard drive if you are running this short space.

  • HP pavilion dv6-7029wm recovery kit lose after changing the hard drive

    Hello

Recently, I changed the hard drive after the old one crashed, so I need the recovery kit, but the site it says shipps only in canada or the United States

as I left the States, how can I get them?

where can I download the recovery image and burn it to a DVD?

    Hello

Another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

Yes, you can reinstall Windows 7 OEM System Builder License on the new hard drive with the new processor.

It will not be a problem in this case, since you don't "move" installation, you are doing a new installation. The less it will take is activation of the phone, as you change the hard drive:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Change the installation location of many programs?

I just got an SSD (60 GB) to use as my drive master boot and after doing some research, it became clear that changing the progamfilesdir /(x86) registry entries can cause problems with some programs and Windows update.

A lot of programs that I use allow me to change the installation location, but some do not. Is there a method to move these programs or make install in another directory?
    Thank you.

Even if you custom install on a drive to reactivate, a lot of files will be written on the disc of the victory.

  • Change the hard drive of my Inspiron 9300

    Hello!

This is my first post on this forum.

    Since July 2005, I have a Dell Inspiron 9300.

As it is now out of warranty, I would change the hard drive in it.

So I have a few questions, I'm looking for answers to if possible.

I will present my questions in two different parts, the first is on the material, the disc itself and then the software thing.

    (A) material:

    (1) should what equipment I expect? I know it's a hard disk IDE, so I guess I have to get the same kind, in parallel ATA works?

    (2) I read here and there that the BIOS is limited to hard drives 120 GB, because more is not supported by the latter. You know a way to expand this capacity? (Only a medium chest!)

    (3) what kind of drives advise you? (Brand, speed, etc...)

    (4) I read on description hard drive 'IDE ATA 100' or ' IDE ATA 133 "in online shops, you know what it is?

    (B) software:

    (1) I would like to be sure that I will install the same things as when I do "Ctrl + F11", for the utility norton Ghost (want to keep this option!), which reinstall the entire computer with factory settings. I will get this during the installation with the recovery CD? Or you have a way to get this? (I want the same computer I have today, except a different HDD only!)

    (2) do you know how to create a D: partition, so that I have a part for programs and a part for the storage of the files?

    (3) how to install, is it: replace drive HARD; start the computer while starting on the recovery CD, Partition the disk HARD C: and D: (with the D: partitioned within the C: drive, I guess) and complete the installation of windows with the included Dell factory settings?

I hope that I won't bore you with my questions, and you'll be able to answer. It would be nice, because I'm not a pro from the computer, only an amateur.

    Thank you very much

    Vincent

  • change the installation directory

    Hello community,

I have a small SSD drive as root system on Windows 8. So far, the creative cloud installed all apps in the directory c:\program files\Adobe standard program.

Meanwhile, the HD is completely full and I need disk space available on this subject. The idea is to move all applications creative Cloud to a partition on a second disc.

If I change now the installation path in the creative application of cloud, also do I uninstall my Adobe applications and reinstall them? Or it will pass all the Apps the new path?

I hope someone could help me?

    Best regards

    Sebastian

Although Adobe indicates that you install the application on the main drive, it is possible to change the destination of the installation of creative cloud app preferences. Please note that there will always be shared resources stored on your primary drive.  In addition, temporary files will be created on your main drive during the installation process. The Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application will remain on the default drive. If you have already installed the application, you must uninstall, change the destination drive, reboot the machine and then install the application.

  • Creating cloud - BUG change the installation directory for applications

I searched and could not find this similar post here

    http://forums.Adobe.com/message/5498967#5498967

Who stated the issue I am experiencing.  In the program office cloud creative preferences, I changed the D drive installation directory because I have my main hard drive partitioned and programs would take too much space on C.  Whatever the change in preferences, applications were still installing on my C drive.  I tried to restart and reinstall and nothing seemed to work.

Finally, I decided to reassign my D partition to C, I must still complete this because I'm waiting for all the data on D to be transferred to an external drive, so I can recombine it in C without losing any data (I don't know if this is necessary, I have not recombined partitions in the front operating system (, but just to be sure)

    IN ANY CASE

As I am awaiting transfer (more 120gbs takes a while) I changed the installation directory in the preferences of creative cloud to C and went ahead and installed the program I wanted to before all this.  Guess what?  It is installed on my D drive!

This isn't a serious bug for me, just incredibly boring and causing a lot of extra work on my part just to install the program I wanted to.  However for someone who requires a different install directory to and cannot reorganize their computer to take account of this bug, I could see that she is more serious.  If anyone else has had this problem and found a solution?  Thank you.

Adobe PS rock you, I hope that your other programs CC feel not hurried to immediate as does your Installer

Thanks for the update Julie.  It is information that you have been able to install applications for the location on the D: drive.  Shared resources and temporary installation files will continue to be on the C: drive.  Please maintain enough disk space on your drive to allow installation of the necessary updates.  In general, I'd recommend at least having double the amount of free space on your system drive, to the amount of physical RAM, you have installed on the computer.

You can find the system requirements for Adobe applications, and an indication of the disk space required for installation, system required. Creative cloud.

  • Change the HARD drive in the laptop Satellite P10-304

I bought a new hard drive for my laptop toshiba satellite sp10, can someone tell me were the hard drive is in the laptop, so I can change it as it does not tell you in the instructions booklet
    Thank you

    Hello

For some portable models change HARD drive is very simple and not complicated. Change the HARD drive in your case will be not so easy, and in my opinion, you should contact the service partner. I don't know how old is your laptop, and if the warranty is still valid, but as Tobi said if you open the Briefcase with laptop computer on your own, you can lose the warranty.

I don't know, but the HARD drive should be placed somewhere under keyboard because on this model there is no coverage of HARD drive in the lower corner.

    Good bye

The CURIOUS reader is fixed with a screw at the bottom of the unit. Then, turn the computer over and remove one screw an optical disk drive.
The second screw is hidden under the keyboard. That's why this screw must be removed also. And then disconnect you should be able to pull-out of the optical drive.

But note; If you have no experience of these things, ask a technician for laptop computer to help him.
