  I'm sorry, but you will need a Windows 9 x / ME drive to provide during the XP installation from the XP disc is a version upgrade. There is no way around that. See if you can find a friend with an older operating system disk (not a recovery disk) to support qualification.   Audio problems in Windows Media Center

  update the following drivers: -.

  Audio driver

  Graphics card driver

  Driver card TV Tuner

  You may need to reset if necessary WMC.

  Run the Setup again.

  Open WMC > tasks > settings > General > installation Windows Media Center > rerun the installation

  Does that help?

  If the above does not help then try to reset WMC: -.

  Open Control Panel > uninstall a program > turn Windows features on or off > scroll multimedia features > uncheck the box against Windows Media Center > follow the instructions on the screen > Reboot > open again to turn Windows features on or off in the control panel > scroll multimedia features > check the box against Windows Media Center.

  Now reconfigure WMC again.

  You can also go for a System Restore-select any restore point when it did not have this problem.

  1. Where are you trying to change the permissions?

  I suggest that you first take ownership of the drive once you connect to the computer and check if it works.

  To take ownership of a folder

  (a) right click on the folder you want to take control and then click Properties.

  (b) click on the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.

  (c) click on Edit. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  (d) click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.

  (e) If you want that person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the check box Replace owner subcontainers and objects .

  (f) click OK.
