Change the persistence of disc

Following this thread, try to change the persistence of a VM running disk using powercli (latest version... 5.8 I think).

Change persistent <>- non-persistent discs

Doing so causes an error ' device 'scsi0:1' already exists "(error even in the two powercli and the vSphere client).

This feature still works? All that I'm missing?

I'm not afraid

Change when you save your files

When you configure your computer to automatically back up files, you specify a location where the files will be stored. You can change this location if you run out of space in the current location or you want to change the type of storage location (for example, a DVD, a hard disk on your computer or a shared folder on another computer on a network).

    1. Click to open the backup center and restoration.

    2. Click on change settings.

    3. Click on modify backup settings and follow the steps in the wizard. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • change the 60 GB *.vmdk file in windows

    Hi all

My CID is messy in my *.vmdk files and I need to change. However I just can't open the file in Notepad because it is more than 60 GB. My RAM becomes exhausted trying to open in VIM and I can display only lines I need to change with cygwin (head - lines = 15 Virtual\ Machine.vmdk).

Any suggestions on how I can get the head of the file in windows, change? I looked for a solution for hours on the internet!

    Thank you!

    -jp

whenever I change the CIDs monolithicSparse discs I extract the second sector of the vmdk to a file and modify it.

In fact I inject this return.

It is much safer, then using hexeditors.

On the Windows host I extracted the descriptor like this

    dsfo.exe blabla.vmdk 512 800 descriptor.txt

to inject that back I use

    DSFI.exe blabla.vmdk 512 800 descriptor.txt

See my site for more on such things

  • Change the default format for burning discs of this system active files in the ISO image format

How can I change the default format for burning discs of this system of active files to ISO image format?  I don't want the active file as the default system and really don't want to have to choose what I want to use the default every time.  It's boring. I have Vista x 64 on my computer and have not yet adapted to all the changes in XP.

Thanks, but it's not useful.  It is more that an 'improvement' Microsoft did that, as I fear, is a total and far failure to be an improvement.  It also means that I'll just use a 3rd party program to burn all my CD/DVDs.  You know if I wanted to be able to remove, reformat, etc.. CD/DVD I would use those rewritable.  That's why they exist.

original title: I add an opportunity second hard drive labeled C:. How can I change the drive letter of the second disc of C: to another letter?

I'm runnibg Vista service pack 1 on a Compaq Presario with a labeled hard drive C:.

No you haven't, how it was labeled in the old pc is irrelevant, just install you it as slave on your PC drive, depends on the question of if you need to change the jumper on the drive. Some PC manufacturers require the rider to be set as "cable select" others as "slave" (unless of course, it's a sata drive that requires no jumpers)

Once it is set, when you start your PC, it will be assingned a drive letter

  • Changing the RAID battery on the shelves of the disc MD3200

    Hello

I have 2 shelves, MD3200 of the disc. I've been advised by Dell that I need to change the RAID battery on both units.

I was wondering if someone has already done this, or are there instructions from Dell on how to on this subject.

Each drive tray has only a RAID card in each unit as it acts as one mirror of the other via the SAN software, but I am particularly concerned by knowing that the information contained in the cache has been written to the disks until the devices are turned off, while I change the battery.

Ideas or experiences that anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you Sam

New batteries so I plan a replacement, thank you very much for your answers.

  • Can I change the 0 to 1 disc and 1 road to 0?

Windows 7 Home Premium using I drive as a data drive 0 and 1 drive contains the operating system. On a normal start, I get a flash message (top left) which indicates "Boot from CD". Also, when I Set Up the drive on the top of the list corresponds to the data reader. If I select the second drive from the top of the list (1 disc), the flash message has disappeared. Is it possible to do the 1 disc to move to the top of this list? This should make the flash message disappear.

Not a major problem at the moment so I'm reluctant to make any changes that I can't reverse.

Yes, turn off the computer, remove the drive 1 SATA cable, then remove the other SATA cable.

Then connect the cable that you remove 1 drive and plug it into the 2nd disc. Connect the remaining SATA cable.

  • Manager disc Snap-in for the MMC. Is it possible to change the order of columns. Or remove columns completely?

Manager disc Snap-in for the MMC. Is it possible to change the order of columns.  Or remove columns completely?

I would like to move the capacity;  Space free; Status; to be fair, Volume.  The page layout;  Type; File system; seems to me

useless in this form.  If there is no way to change maybe someone at Microsoft may include this option in Windows 9.

    Hello

I would like to inform that you can not change the order of columns or remove columns completely as it is by design. However, you can display or hide items in the console window.

    Hide columns in Diskmanagement:

    a. Click Start, type diskmgmt.msc and press to enter.

    b. click view and select Customize.

    c. you can select or clear the check boxes to show or hide items in the console window.

    I hope that helps!

  • How to change the disc HEADER_STATUS of FIRST class candidate.

I developed a script to create diskgroup. To test the script, only sometimes I run couple of script time to create and drop the diskgroup.

Later noticed my drive changed to OLD header_status.

Not sure how to change new CANDIDATE.

Don't think it does much chance either the candidate or the former because the two types can be added to a diskgroup.

If you do a dd on the header of the disc and this needs to change the status to the candidate.

    That is to say something like: If dd \u003d/dev/zero of = / dev/oracleasm/disks/ASM_DATA_001 bs = 1024 count = 10

No problem. Photoshop Elements is only 32-bit but runs on 64-bit systems, this is why he settled in Program files (x 86) rather than the Program Files folder, which is reserved for 64-bit applications.

Photoshop Elements is not available in 64-bit.

    Hi martin667,

    1. check the location of the Windows logo in the windows Explorer. If it is placed on the drive C: or D:

If the logo is placed on the D: drive, and then you installed the operating system on drive D:.

If the windows logo is on C: driver and always documents are saved in the D: drive, then try the following registry changes and check

  • How to change the product ID of Windows 7, when you put the disc in the other PC

I PC_1 with an SSD and a valid license of Windows 7 OEM (HP).  I want to put this SSD in a new, more powerful PC_2.  PC_2 holds a valid license of Windows 7 OEM (Packard Bell).

    My thoughts are:

1 use Double driver to make a backup of all the PC_2 drivers.  Use ABR Activation Backup and Restore to save the certificate key and activation license for W7 on PC_2

2 put the SSD in PC_2 and change the license key and activation of the certificate (it has the PC_1 keys/certificates) to the PC_2 keys/certificates

    3. install missing drivers to disk backup Double.

The problem is How to change the key/certificate in step 2?

Of course I could rebuild W7 on the SSD and give him the key to license PC_2 for the reconstruction, but that would mean reinstall all my other programs that I prefer not to do so.  I downloaded and still have, a copy of W7 iso website digitalrivers if this can help.

    Thank you

Put the SSD from PC 1, PC 2 and startup, update drivers, and change it to the product key located on the certificate of authenticity.

As long as they are running the same edition should not be a problem.

Click Start, right click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click on the link 'change product key '.

Enter the product key located on the COA sticker attached to the bottom of your laptop or in the battery compartment. Click next to activate via the Internet.
