Change windows 32-bit to 64-bit 8

I have examined various questions and answers on a similar theme, but don't think I've seen quite a response.

I've recently upgraded to Vista 32 bit for windows 32 bit 8 after buying the DVD. However, my processor will support 64-bit operation.
Can I use the 64-bit disc that came with the dvd to my HARD drive for windows 64 bits 8 upgrade.

With a product key, you can have a single operating system using this product key.  If you want the 32-bit and 64-bit on the same machine so you will need two product keys.

When you format the Partition with the 32-bit Windows 8 installed on it, Yes, you would lose all the data on that Partition of 32 bits, including all windows startup files.  However, when you install then the 64-bit in the Partition formatted (hard disk), and if you have the bootable media for installing the 64-bit OS new Boot files are created.

If you have already used the product key that came with Windows 8, you are more likely to fail the normal Activation of Windows, which means you need to take the option, then provided by Windows, activate by phone.

  • Satellite L635 - how to change Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit?

    Need help.

Satellite L635 bought a few months ago with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on the HARD drive. When the first time activate Windows, I can choose 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, then I chose Windows 7 32 bit.

Can I switch my laptop RAM 4 GB, 2 weeks ago. And I come to know that windows 7 32 bits can not read more than 3 GB of RAM. Only windows 7 64 bit can read more than 3 GB.

My question is, how do I change from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows because toshiba gave me Windows 7 install CD / DVD. Windows has already been installed on the HARD drive.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    > because toshiba gave me Windows 7 Installer CD / DVD
Yes, because you must create this disk yourself using pre-installed recovery media creator. But I m wondering why ask this question here because it s mentioned in the user manual you must create this disk as soon as possible. If HDD recovery would fail or install another OS, you need this CD to restore preinstalled settings of Toshiba.

If you use the (boot from it) Toshiba Recovery disk, you should be also asked if want to 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7. So I recommend creating these discs and use it to install Windows 7 64 bit.

  • change from 32-bit to 64-bit on windows 7

Initially, I installed my Windows 7 with 32-bit but have since added more than memory and want to change to 64-bit.  How do I go about it?

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. • How to change Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit to 64 bit with no disc?

I've upgraded Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit to 32 bit Ultimate.  I want to do a custom 64-bit Setup, but does not.  Now that I've upgraded to Ultimate 32 bit how can I change to 64-bit?  My upgrade was merely a box with an activation key, no disc not provided.  Upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium to Vista buying and don't download from MS Store so no original or the other disk.  Thanks for any help!

You must have the disk to do a clean custom install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Contact the Microsoft Store for a replacement disk:

  • Where can, Windows 64-bit users, learn about what to do or stop doing, because the builds for our system have been disabled?

I came across information that Firefox has not extinguished the development for Windows 64 - bit. Since my system I would like to know what it means.
Should uninstall us Firefox? Is there anyway we could still use it? I'm not a savvy computer, so I don't really no what to expect or where to find specific information on this subject.

Hello intr0uble, nothing will change for you - you can continue to use firefox as you did before! Hello.

    >... Satellite Pro C660-16N - Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium pre-installed...

Nobody knows what the best route is change Win7 64 bit for Win7 32 bit. This model has a 32-bit install on HARD drive recovery option?

Or he will have to do a clean install of Win7 32 bit DVD.

    Thank you very much.

I guess that this laptop is available with 64-bit only (specification) and there is only one way to install the version OS 32-bit, you must install it using original Microsoft Win7 32 bit installation disc.
Please note: for the activation of the operating system, you can use the product key from the sticker. You must purchase a new license for your own installation.

By the way: also check if this laptop model is supported for 32-bit version. You can do this on Toshiba support and download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

I just bought a Satellite P750 (64 bit compatible) and did the quick start upward following the instructions that says I'll get a chance to say if I want 32 or 64-bit. Only, it didn't. Have you regions, time, etc. and then started upward. But in 32 mode. Can I uninstall the version of 32 ome and reinstall or change to 64-bit.

    Can anone help?

PS am new long-term tragic Windows 7 XP.

    Hello

Can you please tell us what P750 (P750-xxx) do you have exactly? I just want to check tender specifications on the Toshiba support page s.

I have older P500 and I got it with 64 bit only OS. So I don't know if the most recent model is offered with the OS 32 and 64 bits. For example, I saw on the page s Toshiba P750-100 comes with 64-bit only.

Can you please check again the version of Win7 is installed (Control Panel > system).
Somehow I doubt that you have a 32 bit OS.

Hold down the Windows key, then press Pause. Break. It will tell you
If you have a 32 bit processor and a 64-bit processor.

If it is a 64-bit processor, yes it can run 64-bit Windows. If it's a
    32-bit processor, it cannot.

I apologize I learn the computer language. I CAN NOT ENTER THE SIDE I NEED TO BE WORKING on. NOW I can't do anything on my side again without poping administrator and will ask for a password. can not download, change settings, nothing. also, I was in the process by changing my windows 7 home 32-bit to a 64-bit that came with my computer. A tech friend said he had to reinstall windows and it has installed a 32-bit.  my product key for windows 7 home is on the side of the computer for some reason, he didn't use it. I can't reinstall my windows 64-bit because the administrator request password. I can't do anything.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

    Ok

    Let's try the following:

Once the printer is already connected to your PC,

Go into devices and printers and then click Add a printer.

Click Local Port and select the USB port from the list (may appear like USB001 or DOT4)

In the lst select HP industrial.

In the list of printers, select the HP Deskjet 6940 or HP Deskjet 6980.

Follow the steps to complete the add a Printer Wizard.

Now try to print with the newly created spare driver - you don't see any similar behavior?

If you see a similar behavior, try to print using another software (for example a web page), you can see the same results?

Make sure not to change the parameters of the front and back of the box print dialog, but only from the Printing Preferences dialog box.

What application you initially try to print from?
