• Gradient banding external change from Lightroom 6-Photoshop CC to ProfotoRGB

  I think I discovered a sort of fix regarding banding degraded in CC of Photoshop, but I don't know if there are traps in the changes I made.

  When I edited an image with a gradient in the background (that I created with studio lighting) in Lightroom 6 with ProfotoRGB as my color space of mounting external and modified in Photoshop CC, I had severe banding degraded on the bottom.  However in Lightroom there is no gradient banding.

  After search in this forum, so I changed the ProfotoRGB external editing preferences SRGB color space in Lightroom and voila there is no Gradient banding at all in Photoshop CC.

  Before I did it, I mess around with cache levels (which are now 4) and cache tile size (which is 1028 k).

  Can I keep the external change in Lightroom as SRGB, but keep my workspace as Profoto RGB in Photoshop?  Or do I have to match?

  It's funny that I have the gradient banding problem when editing external Profoto RGB (I right click on the image in Lightroom and go to Edition in), is this a known problem and there will be a fix for this?

  Shadow proPhoto banding is a known problem that has existed since at least CS5. It only affects the ProPhoto files when the graphics processor is set to 'Normal' or 'Advanced' in the preferences.

  If the options are either to avoid ProPhoto (Adobe RGB is very good), or place GPU mode 'Basic '.

  The problem was reported here and elsewhere repeatedly. Engineers Adobe said at the same time they would look into it - but it's still there. If the problem is in video/OpenGL driver code is probably not much they can do.

  I bought Lightroom 6 on amazon.com a few days ago. Now, I was wandering if there is any way I can change that in the DC plan for photographers without losing my initial investment in version 6 of Lightroom?

  1. Go to edit > preference > Performance > uncheck "processor chart use" If this does not solves the problem then,
  2. With Lightroom closed
  • Access

  C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences    (Where AppData is a system folder / hidden so you may need to enter the name of the folder directly into your browser's address bar or activate hidden folders / system in the Internet Explorer view folder options.)

  • Open the file LightroomPreferences.agprefs
  • Locate the line use = True autobahn (press CTRL + F)
  • Take Autobahn use = False

  
  

  After save the file

  Restart Lightroom

• Change of color after export from Lightroom

  I noticed a color drastically change after the export a file from Lightroom to a JPEG file today. I have been using Lightroom for a while, and it's never happened before. I'm assuming that I changed the setting somehow and I cannot find how to fix.

  In the preferences panel, open al Presets tab uncheck the checkboxes at the top (Apply auto tone, etc.). Then click on the button 'Reset all parameters of development by default'. This should make the reset button behave normally. It will remove any other default settings you defined well.

• Color profile question from lightroom to PSE 12.

  After changing for Windows 10 I find that the color profile is deleted when opening a file from Lightroom 6 to 12 of PSE.  I also get an error message when you try to load a 12 for 8.5 RAW update.  The error reads U44M1I210.  If anyone can help with the problem.

  Ok. What is the setting in Lightroom under preferences > external editing > color space? Here you have the choice between sRGB, Adobe RGB and ProPhoto. The default is ProPhoto, and unless you have changed, it is how it opens in the external editor (in your case, PES).

  If you view while in an another viewer of photos without color management, color will be away (dark and desaturated).

  Now, there may be color settings of the specific items that can strip or convert this profile, so I would still recommend that go. All I can do here is to take the floor for Lightroom and Photoshop.

  Lightroom is a program intended for professionals (who are not the original to be changed when editing image) that is why all the export options are defined as a 2-step... The idea is to make | Export your changes without touching the main image.

  Why it does not = because Adobe has not got around manufacturing it syncs to the library of cc or update web code built-in to make slideshows (the reason for which our company dropped) fixed the just basic UI work on modern windows machines then your options are;

  • Put up with it until Adobe bypasses to fixing the program or
  • Use photoshop instead... My recommendation.

  Adding to the good advice of Alfred - a raw file cannot be registered as the other files.

  Its only use is the basis for the creation of new files, which must be regular files, such as tiff, psd or jpg.

  When you edit a raw file in Lightroom, it does not change the file, the changes are written to the catalog.

  Optionally, save the changes in the form of metadata (xmp) sidecar files, or in the case of DNG in the file itself.

  I searched the forum and not quite found the exact answer, but I confess, I'm new here so sorry if this is old news.

  So, I'm working on my photos in lightroom (do the majority of the edition) and occasionally in Photoshop (fluidity and more nuanced and powerful healing and fading of shit).

  My question is: when if the best time to go from Lightroom to Photoshop?  First option: before making changes to lightroom, go into photoshop and make the changes, then apply changes to lightroom to the new tiff file?  Option two: when any changes in Lightroom are fully completed, then send to Photoshop and edit (realizing that once I go to Photoshop, I'm no longer by changing the RAW file, but now to edit the Photoshop tiff file) Option three: anytime?

  Are there other options I think not?

  I think you do as much editing in Lightroom as possible, and only then you go to Photoshop for editing you need which is not possible in Lightroom.

  Of course, you could go to Photoshop when you want to, but there is little benefit unless you have done as much as you can in Lightroom and still have editing capability that has only Photoshop.

  I have an iMac 27 "end 2012, Yosemite, Lightroom 5 and 13 items running. I have Photoshop Elements selected in Lightroom "change in" and in the Lightroom preferences, I have Photoshop selected 13 items.

  When I select a photo in Lightroom to open in Photoshop Elements (i.e. in Lightroom, I chose "Edit in"), PSE 13 OPENS but the photo is never there. I looked and looked in PSE 13 for the photo from Lightroom, and I'm not.

  Oddly, a copy of the photo appears in Lightroom in grid mode. Is driving me crazy! I can drag a photo into the components icon and it will open in the elements, but then I don't know how to get it back in Lightroom with changes unless I have enregistrer to save on my desktop, then drag in the Lightroom icon. I understand that it is supposed to work in a transparent manner if I do something wrong.
