• Reading of file of office in time real project in labview excel

  I have PXI chassi 1042 with CAN, LIN, and FPGA. I have a project of RT in labview to control where im trying to automate CAN read/write messages.

  Basically my requirement is to load the sequence from an excel file and perform operations on this basis. Since I was the project of RT, I want to deploy my system first. By and by running the spreadsheet just reading up an error saying file not found. I wonder that it is because after the deployment, the file is searched on the target and it does not appear in windows to the host. How to handle this situation. Is it possible to read the excel file after the deployment of the RT project? Or is there a way to deploy the project after reading the excel (in this case, I need to have the content of the excel in memory when I'm deployment).

  I am facing an insoluble problem.

  I no longer write cell in excel.

  I developed my program under labview 2009 and made tests on two different PCs.

  On United Nations cell writing works on the other I always mistake-2147352567 in cell Value.vi value.

  I changed my pc and I went from XP to Seven, installed labview 2009, my program is still blocking on vi set the value of the cell.

  How can I solve my problem? program to recompile it?

• Excel 2007 to carry forward when called LabVIEW v9 in Windows 7

  I'm building a dual system using LabView and Excel 2007 v9, Windows 7.  The original system used Windows XP, Excel 2007, and LabView v8.6.  The problem is that the original system has been able to bring forward to Excel when it is called LabVIEW by using the node property - application-> visible.  This new configuration is running Excel, loads the data, run macros, but does not Excel forward.  The icon flashes in the bar of tasks Win7 and when selected displays at the top of LabView.  If I reduce the window of Labview, Excel is here.  This brings me to the conclusion that Excel is visible, as requested but will not come forward until this that selected in the taskbar.  The only differences, not to mention the versions, is used the extension .xls in model of original system files was performed in Excel in compatibility mode.  At the request of customers, the new system uses on model files Excel .xlsm extension.  I tried to use application.visible = True in the macro as well.  Could be a setting in Labview?  Could be a setting in Excel? Could be .xls vs. .xlsm? Or a problem with Windows 7 and the latest version of Labview.

  I just use something like this in any place where I normally just would make excel visible. Works for me on Win7 x 64 even though I don't really know why.

  On Windows XP, I never had no problem with just using the visible property, with a change unique windowstate or even without one.

  The Microsoft Office Spreadsheet ActiveX control will not import an Excel workbook. If you choose to use a table of LabVIEW control or ActiveX control, you can manually read the data in your Excel workbook using ActiveX (for Excel 2003 and earlier versions), and then fill the control (whether it is a table of LabVIEW or spreadsheet ActiveX control). Then, still using ActiveX calls once you must browse your Excel spreadsheet and read cell background colors, and then define the cells of the table LabVIEW control or control ActiveX to be the same. This is done by using the properties of the controls.

  Bottom line: this is a very manual process. For example, the attached VI is one that I post quite often. It will read the data from an Excel worksheet, and place it in a table of LabVIEW Control.

  Another option is to simply use a web browser control and display the worksheet by using the Excel plugin browser, as this is explained in this article: using the browser control Microsoft Web to incorporate a spreadsheet Excel in LabVIEW.

  Question: Why do you need to do this? What you are trying to accomplish in the long term? Perhaps there is a better way to do it.

• Automatic files in Excel import of PDM

  I was looking at the NI TDMS for Excel import plugin and it seems that the latest version of the plugin uses the COM API that could allow to import feature be used automatcially. There is a page of brief info on this here http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/10207 but I am new to Excel Macros and VBA, so I don't know how to get this tutorial what I'm willing to do.

  Specifically, I wonder if anyone knows (and could see an example of) how to do the following:

  Starting in a labview VI, the user would choose a path to a PDM file. Once the path is selected, the VI would call the PDM import excel plugin and run it on the file.

  After playing with things, I discovered the solution to this, and I'm posting for everyone in case it may be of some use. To use this solution to work out of the box, you will need the report generation tool. If you don't have that, you would need another way to launch labview Excel and run a macro. I hope that someone who has the knowledge of how to do which will display the part in this thread for those who do not have the Toolbox

  To begin, open excel and in the menu bar, select Tools-> macro-> Visual Basic Editor. The source of the macro that you create is:

  Once you have copied/pasted into the editor to go to the bar and hit file-> export the file and save the macro under one. BAS file

  You will also need to go to tools-> macro-> Security and select the Visual Basic Project Trust so that the macro be called from LV

  Once all this is done, you can use the attached VI (recorded in LV 8.6) food just the way DOWN and the TDMS file via the controls on the front panel and click Run and the PDM import will be done automatically.

  The test T VI in the palette hypothesis test is for a single sample, but located inside this VI is the student distribution CDF Subvi, which is very useful for building the sample two test.  Here is an example for the unilateral test for equal variances as test by pair, you will need to look for formulas in any standard text.  It is the result of Excel, I'm worried still using N or N-1 in various places.

  For a result with two tails, just double the p-value.

  Hi all

  I developed a Labview VI, but now I need the VI to activate an add-in, excel at some point. The add-in allows to launch a measure with which I was not able to control through labview (light meter SEKONIC C-7000) and the measure should start at some well-defined point. So what I have to do is press a button in excel to start measurement, while the VI is running.

  Is it possible to interact in excel using labview? After the VI did an initialization, I would need to excel and not pushing only one button to start the measurement.

• How to check if an Excel Application is open, and if so to close before running a labview VI

  Hi all

  I have a VI that takes measures and store them in one worksheet Excel after a few digital manipulations. I was very careful to close whatever it is in the correct order before making a "Quit Application" at the end of the Labview VI

  The VI works well and as many times as we want as long as no Excel application has been left open (open hand to check the data for example) before running the labview VI.

  So currently, I have to be careful that no Excel application is open before starting the VI.

  Someone can tell me how my Labview VI can detect (at startup) If an Excel application is already open, and then close in case Yes?

  I would like to load the file from the disk on 4155B using Labview. First of all, I tried to write the command using MAX and found that the command that I write to 4155 B contains the error message. "I sent the two GT ' MYFILE P" and : MMEM:LOADTAT 0, filename orders every time to 4155 B, but failed. May I know what kind of command must send to the communication with the instrument?

  Besides, I need to run the content of the file, I should send it OUT @Hp4155; "' XE ' command?

  After running, I need save the result in excel file back.

  The SCPI commands are found in the manual of the instrument.

  I learned how to solve nonlinear equations in Excel using Solver.  Is there something equivalent in LabView?

  I have an equation:

  T = 1 / (A + B * lnX + C * lnX ^ 2 + D * lnX ^ 5).

  Where T is the temperature, and X is the resistance of the thermistor.

  Now, I want to solve (iterative) for X.

  I looked around mathematical functions and have not found something that looks like what I want.
