Chassis numbering after power fail? Persistence?

I had a workplace, where all the blades have been associated and power off (customer did tests of power environment). All OS are installed on local disks (ESXi, Windows, Linux).

Then a power fail that happened. Power returns and the discovery of the chassis was completely screwed upward, the numbering has changed.

This meant that turn the blades has resulted in a total chaos; Failure, because there wasn't any blade this slot chassis; or bad what BONES were found.

Fortunately, the strategy of default scrub was disc = no

We had to turn off all chassis, then towards them in the old order...

Why are there no persistence of the chassis, he remembers his number and returned to the top with the original id?

Walter,

Who would do the trick. Please answer before I tried to reproduce this morning :). Yes, I noticed on the other posts on the failure of upgrade occurring, I wasn't sure if this was linked to another environment.

I hope that everything is retrieved and you are online. If you need assistance let me know.

Kind regards

Qiese Sa'di

  • UEFI auto turn on after power failure

I bought a desktop computer HP Pavillion PC500-225es (have a holiday home in Spain where the suffix are).

It is running Windows 8.1 equipped a UEFI BIOS.

I want the PC automatically restarts when power is restored after a power failure, but I don't see any option to do this in the UEFI BIOS. Is it normal for a UEFI BIOS? I have had many computers with a BIOS for old style and that I can remember all had the ability to set the auto restart after power fail.

I don't know how a UEFI BIOS integrates with Windows 8.1 but I see no option for this in point 8.1 of Windows either.

    Someone at - it ideas?

In addition, because the PC was bought in Spain, the BIOS is in Spanish. It seems not be anyway to change that in English, my native language. Not a big problem I can get in Spanish and may apply to the Google translate if I have to, but it would be easier if there was an option to switch to English.

I ran the HP Support Assistant, and everything is up-to-date, there is no update to download BIOS.

I guess I'm just stuck with the situation unless HP come with an update of the BIOS to add installation.

  • does not start after the fail of power - current

The machine makes grinding noises rhythmically squaky again and again until I have pull the plug. By pressing the button start does not stop the grinding effort (to start). It allows you to return after a few hours, but this time, there is nothing. It seems that he is not getting enough juice to do more than run fans briefly.

I took it to a store where they tried to sell me a new machine that I don't want. They were first it upward from the starting System. They defragmented and other stages of the interview, but failed to solve my problem. Alleged that it was the motherboard, memory, etc. I had NO problem before this last failure and run diagnostic in the shop in my previous city with no problems.

    The model is:

    HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 480 t series XM558AV #ABA

I made no changes to my machine at all because he was running very well and does everything that I needed. The shop removed a memory stick that I replaced as soon as I got home.

It feels like the machine is not getting enough power to turn on. Fans of turn and stop. The Start button is useless once it is pressed at the beginning and I have to remove the plug to stop attempts to start.

Starting after power outage has had a problem with this device, but it would eventually start so far. Any suggestions?

  • Desktop screen blank after power loss

This problem seems to have several solutions, but I think I've tried most of them.  I have Windows XP SP3.  Was in the middle of a copy of a floppy disk drive hard when the power failed suddenly.

Now, the computer starts to an empty office of light blue, but without icons or the Start button.  Can use CTRL-ALT-DEL to run Explorer and run programs.  I can not start Internet Explorer from the Explorer.  Microsoft Help however starts Internet Explorer and I can move around the Internet.  Norton Internet Security begins at the start so I did not have a virus problem.  I tried the recovery system back to before the disaster but I get the same result.  I just tried the Microsoft Hotfix but still the same result.  This program, however, wiped out all my previous Restore Points.  I have tried all the suggestions of Regedit because I am not sure how they correct the problem.  My best guess is that a. DLL or. SYS file is corrupt.  Is it possible to determine what is bad by the processes or Services that are not running?

    Any other suggestions or corrections?

    PROBLEM SOLVED.

Registry required a change to the value of Shell.

    REGEDIT

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "Shell" = "explorer.exe".

I found that the value has been replaced by "progman.exe.

After the reboot, the computer reported that he could not find a Restore Point from 26/10/2010.  I said not restore at a different point and he finished with a few slight differences in my usual startup; but the Desktop buttons and start were in place.

  • Problem after update failed

    Hello world
today after a failed update my double D6633 Z3 does not start.

The message "the software update failed. Make sure that your phone is connected to the computer and try again. "flashes on my screen.

The issue is that PC companion can not find my phone. I tried all my USB ports but still does not work.

    Have you any suggestions?

    Thank you

You may need to perform a repair of software using PC Companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1 to 2 hours until the device has so at least 60% battery.

Make sure that the device is not connected to the computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press the power button / stop and volume until what the machine vibrates 3 times or on some devices, it must push the small button near the tray on the back of the camera or SIM).

Open PC companion-> support area-> update phone software / Tablet-> repair my phone/Tablet blue highlighted. Follow the steps, do not plug your phone until you are prompted to press volume down while plugging in the USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you may need to run Windows 7 compatibility mode (in some cases XP).

I have problems to restart of Yosemite, after power failure during the new backup, and now HD is also blocked.

I tried the holding of 'command-r' and 'option' to see if the problem can be resolved or try any boot from a boot disk, my old backup, USB function start - but after a slow long process it all just stops.

    Hello

The laptop goes to home Toshiba screen?
If yes there is no hardware malfunction but perhaps something wrong with the software.

You suggested that it of not possible to enter the BIOS. How have you tried to get into the BIOS?
As far as I know, this unit uses a Phoenix BIOS so you must press the F2 key immediately after switching on. Press the "F2" key several times to make sure that the option has been enabled.

The alternative to boot from the CD/DVD drive is using the C key. The same procedure here: press the C key immediately after starting the laptop.
(the CD must be inserted before you start)

  • GSM7224v2 loses the configuration after power failure

As the topic title says - this device (new for me but flea market) loses its configuration after power off.

I don't see any button cell within the unit for volatile memory backup. Surely the configuration lives in non-volatile storage?

I am being dumb and I'm missing something?

    Hi neidlo

    Welcome to the community!

Yes configuration lives in a non-volatile memory, when it is saved. Until it is saved, it is in RAM.

When configuring the switch, it is not automatically saved. Using Web Interface (GUI)? A "Save" button should do.

Please let us know whether or not this was the burden
