Check the disk stopped running

I have a disk check run on my computer after the startup. He stopped at 41% full and seemed to be frozen. I turned off the computer and when I turned it on again, he went to the disk check automatically and is stuck at 41% again. I really just want this disk check. I'm sorry that I tried to do a few "maintenance".

If the memories are good, you can cancel the disk check if you press a key within 10 seconds after the message that the disk check is scheduled appears on the screen. However, the fact that the system blocks on the disk check can be alarming.
Check if there is no disk activity hard while the disk check is stuck at 41% (check the HDD LED or any Visual indicator on your box), check if you can hear the work of the disc. Finally, give him time (even an hour or two). Depending on the amount of data and errors do you repair process may take some time.

    -When everything started, connect

-Once connected, stop the mac once again, nothing else is necessary.

  • Solutions error checking the disk and Restore Point, pointing to the other.

Yesterday, my wife picked up the package of virus Security Suite from somewhere and remove, I picked up an error when the disk check runs at startup. Check disk claims it is an error, check the drive and suggests restore since my last restore point. But when I do this, restore the system claims I have a disk error and I need to run the disk check. Which brings me right to the beginning of this problem.

I'm running 32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, and have enabled the Windows updates. I use AVG and Malware Bytes to protect my system.

    Thank you!

You can run check disk from safe mode? This is a level of command prompt:

    CHKDSK x: /F /R

Where x: is the drive that you control.

  • Check the disk for consistency

I read messages will this question hide two to five years. I guess my problem is the same: black screen on startup with white 'BACK', writes, "one of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You can cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended that you continue. Windows will now check the disk. "What has happened three times in the last two months, and nothing was found in the mess at the end of the audit.

Responses to previous posts are frankly discouraging - at least for me. I want to know is if this disk check is a signal that all is not well with the computer, or if it's just a gene that will probably calm down. Would it not be in my interest to call a repairman? I'm not interested in venturing into the only registry.

    Thank you.

There is nothing remarkable or unusual in the chkdsk report, no bad sectors or the reported bad clusters.  Run the utility of diagnosis of the constructor on the drive and see if it reports disk problems, go to the web site of the manufacturer of the drive for the utility.

  • Check the disk does not start if he had to run when you restart the computer.

I selected automatically fix system errors file and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
I was prompted to reschedule the disk check for the next time you restart your computer.

However, when I rebooted my computer, nothing happened. No disk check has been performed. I tried tha procedure above a couple of times without success.

Someone please help I was able to do this before, but can't do the job now?  Thank you.

    ACHOIWONG,
Well, it's system files to discover good good news.  Is probably why chkdsk does not work due to not having permission start upward.  Try to run it from an elevated command prompt:
Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.
Right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
At the command prompt, type chkdsk c:/r

Try and let us know if it works.

  • Make sure the disk is running whenever I start, and although I can access the internet, I can't open any websites.

Control of disk runs whenever I starts and then displays windows so I guess it solves the problem, but I can't open any websites, even if I get to the internet.  I got my connection verified by my internet provider and I had my system examined by the technical service of my provider of virus & protection all to nothing does not.   Where can I find the results of analysis of disk verification?  It basically says the disc must be check for compatibility, but at the end of the analysis, it publishes results for just a second.  Too fast to read.

It is good - now you know what the problem is and why XP prevents running chkdsk (he's trying to help you!).

Here is a link to the article from Microsoft KB on the XP Recovery Console:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/307654

You do not need 'install', you will have to 'use' then go to the section 'how to use the Recovery Console.  Save installation if for another day.

After step 4, you should be at the command prompt in the folder c:\windows.

If anything it of a little weird or don't look right, or you don't get it, stop and you can make a CD of bootable XP Recovery Console and use it.

Don't forget: you can't question the bit of impurity of the Recovery Console.  When the chkdsk /r is running clean (it may take more than one pass), reboot and see if chkdsk wants to run again or not, and then query the dirty bit again if you don't know what it is in the State.  The volume must be "not dirty" or chkdsk will want to turn on every restart, until it is.

Once in the Recovery Console, follow these steps:

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • Check the disk recovery image it is stuck at 56%

I created the Recovery Manager recovery discs and the process stopped at 56% when checking the image of a disk after you create it! I let it sit for more than an hour and he sits up to 56%!  I was wondering should I cancel the process or wait and so if she does not change and I have to cancel I will be able to restart the process or is this my only chance presence it say that you cannot create more than one set of recovery discs!

my computer is a HP Pavilion dv6 notebook pc windows 7 Home premium 64-bit

Usually, if the process does not properly complete, you can start no later than. HP can even send a free statement if you tell them that your software is unable to create the whole. Access to worldwide here contact information >
