CHKDSK reports 4 KB of data in the bad sector after each execution

Conventional HDD, pata, 2.5 inches.
CHKDSK reports after each race, there are 4 KB of data in bad sectors.
It is the system partition, so the command chkdsk always run on the basis of the sequence
CHKDSK c: /r /f from the Vista installation CD - the Recovery Console.

Where these regular 4 KB in bad sectors of?
Should chkdsk not move them once at the table of bad sectors then
It does not appear in subsequent runs of chkdsk?

Will, all poorly founded and marked areas such as chkdsk in the past
be declared in a subsequent analysis?

My understanding is Yes. Only, I run chksk if I think that a file is corrupted and I need to know why. There is no part of my routine maintenance.

Use the IW format - it will make independent NLS solution. And all you need is truncated 7th day of each month using IW:

    select sysdate current_date,
            trunc(trunc(sysdate,'mm') + 6,'iw') first_monday_the_month

  • How can I get Word 2007 to reset the default printer after each draw?

I'm not the most tech savvy person in the world, but I know my way around MS Office well enough; When my boss got a new computer last month, I helped to set up, install the MS Office, etc.  Now, she complains constantly that he does not restore the default printer after each draw and "my old computer used to do that for me - I never know where it'll print now."

How can I configure sound MS Word to print from the default printer each time unless otherwise selected?

I have the default printer specified in Windows, but each time she chooses an active printer, MS Word uses the current printer instead of the default printer.  I just need to know how to solve this problem?

If you open a doc Office that it allows to print to the printer origonal used when saving this doc.

If you use the Btn Office Orb, you can select the printer

  • Reset the default printer after each print job.

I wish that my printer to reassign the default printer after each print job.  I have a Hp LaserJet 1020 on my desk as my default.  Sometimes however, I print on our printer color etc.  Then when I go to print again immediately after the color printing - it is (and not my default).  I looked in the printer properties, devices, etc. - but do not see where I could update this?  Can you let me know.  Thank you.

You don't say how you make that decision to change printers. I have two printers, all-in-one (default) HP4135 and HP6122 duplexer.

Example: Leave in MS Office Word 2007 default print would always be. But I can choose a printer to use. With this selection, as long as I stay within this project, the HP6122 could be used. It would default to the HP4135 if I closed the project.

If you go: start, Control Panel, printers, you will see all printers. The default value has a green check mark. Right-click on the printer icon and a menu descends with an extra function "Set as default printer".

    Lisa.

    Hello Lisa,.

It's more to do with the word processor on Windows. You don't say what word processing software you use. If you use WordPad which comes free with Windows, it is impossible to do what you want to do. However, if you are using Microsoft Office Word (that you can buy) then the CAP is set by default.

  • HDD iMAC - made NAS El Capitan trace bad sectors after the report of an error?

I replaced the HARD drive failing in my iMac 2009 end with a 4 to Seagate NAS drive, thinking it would be a better more sustainable choice, ignoring other differences of a NAS disk.  The computer runs very cool indeed.  However,.

Apparently the resumption on error and the mapping of the sector is different on a NAS drive.  Seagate advertisement indicates that during a difficult to read, the Seagate NASware reports the error to the operating system within a maximum of 7 seconds instead of spending up to 20 seconds to try to read (and remap?) the bad data so that the NAS operating system has a chance to recover data from RAID system and write a new correct sector and thus correct the file without error and little time.

Modern readers but defective sectors realloueront told me that the NAS drives will not (could not check this based on data I found on the web site of Seagate).

    Three questions

1: the OS has the ability to work with bad sectors and map just like the old OSs?

2: El Capitan reports the error to the user, or turn the ball.  I never saw the report of the OS that the data file cannot be read properly, as windows used to in my old bad days before moving to Apple.

3: this rumor NAS disk does not remap is correct?  I think it makes more sense to report the erorr to the operating system, and then remap the sector on a writing data (as the NAS operating system should do once he finds the correct data).

I would not lose time popular with these basic question, but I could not find the relevant info.

I don't want to swap the drive that replacing a drive in a 27 "iMAC is not easy and will not be repeated until the disc breaks down.

A NAS is just a file server. He is responsible for the management of storage of data including the maintenance of readers. The operating system access is just request the data of and presenting data on the NAS. The inner workings of the actual storage is the responsibility of the NAS.

  • HP Envy 120 printer prints OK but the error message after each document

After upgrading the firmware in my printer, I now get a window pop up with the title, "Unable to communicate with printer" at the end of each document.  The error message should be cleared before the next document in the queue will print.  Each document prints correctly despite the error message.

Another thing that may cause this condition besides the update of the firmware is this: I have set up my printer for wireless printing, which worked OK.  However, I am currently using the printer with a wired USB connection.  Of course, the version non-reseau of the printer is selected as my printer 'default' regarding this error report.  The update of the firmware was held at the same time that change this "setup".

    Hey @rrbNevada,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that your printer HP Envy 120 seems to have an error "Unable to communicate with the printer" after each print job is printed and this problem seems to have started after an update of the firmware running and change your connection type. Maybe it's a coincidence.

For me to help you I need to know what operating system you print since?

    What is my OS?

For now, I would like to run the print tool HP and doctor Scan. It is a practical tool that will 'fix print' questions automatically for you. It will scan the computer for any conflict of driver printer HP, connection problems and other issues that can cause problems with your printer. It will also try to fix these problems for you.

    HP Print and Scan Doctor

If printing HP and doctor Scan fails to solve your problem, I recommend a complete uninstall and reinstall of your software and drivers for a clean slate to work with.

    Uninstalling the printer software

After you have uninstalled the drivers and the printer software I need you to reinstall. To reinstall, I add two documents of reference below:

Installation for USB under Mac OS X

    Installation of USB on Windows

Because you use the printer for network and USB connections on your computer I suggest you first run installation from USB.

Once the printer is installed for USB, then you can add in the wireless version.

Adding a printer wireless on Windows:

    1. open the Printer Assistant software on your desktop. It should resemble a black printer icon and has your options of Scan inside.

    2. click on the 'utility' on the top tab

    3. click on 'software and configuration of the printer.

4 enforce "connect a new device" for the network connection.

This will add two copies of your printer and both will be implemented properly for scanning and printing.

Adding a printer wireless on Mac:

    1. Click The HP utility icon in the Dock.

  • Read the output values after each step runs in the User Interface of LabVIEW

    Hi all

    Development environment: TestStand 2010 SP1 and LabVIEW 2010 SP1

Problem: is there a way to run the following steps programmatically and get values out of each of them?

I have already extended a bit a complete interface IO for TestStand load any sequence, choose among the measures and execute step by step (something as an alternative to the steps run selected). What I'm trying to do is to add some actions between each step and do in the UI (I can't change the sequence!), so I start the NewExecution with some previously configured InteractiveArgsParam and option breakAtFirstStep set to true. Eventually I do just something like step over when debugging the sequence and it works well, but I didn't do well a way yet to read the output values of the place...

So, if I wait before the end of the run I can read my results by treating the ResultObject, but it works only after the completion of the test sequence. Because I wanted to stop after each step, read the values, do some actions and continue to the next step, I've tried to register a running Trace event reminder View Manager. I see that after each step is executed, this event is fired, but when I try to read that a ResultObject returned in the event data it is not filled with values (ResultList seems to be empty?). Is this a correct behavior or maybe I'm reading the wrong way? (It's the same VI regarding the reading of the ResultObjects after the sequence ends and there it works very well for tables, containers and other types of data).

As I mentioned I can't change Test sequences, I can not add a UImessages.

What are my options? If the trace event returns output all the values from each steps or is it just used to check the status? Or maybe there's a completely different approach to this issue?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,

    Best regards.

When you manipulate the UIMessage trace (you need this before the return of the event or you will present the race conditions), download myuimessage. Thread. Then call Thread.GetSequenceContext (0, & Iplease).

And then on the context of the sequence, either go to PreviousStep.Result if it exists, or watch Locals.ResultList.

Trace events occur between the steps executed step the more recently is the previous step, but it is also a trace event to the beginning before any measure have run at this time, there will be a previous step.

    Hope this helps,

    -Doug

  • OfficeJet 4500 - Date/time back to default after each cycle supply

The date and time on my Officejet 4500 recovering after each cycle default power.  I set the time and date using the menu edge together, but every time that I turn it off it resets the value default January 1 00 with a time of 00:00.

I checked for software updates, but it is said that there are no new updates available. Otherwise everything with the printer works fine.

My PC is Windows 7 Ultimate edition with service pack 1. The printer is networked and to my PC via a USB cable.

The clock on the HP Officejet 4500 resets values by default whenever you restart the printer?

Usually, this is caused by the inner workings of the printer get confused. Reset of the printer can often resolve this problem.

    To perform a partial reset:
    * Unplug the printer when the unit is turned on.
    * On the front of the printer, press in and hold the buttons # and 3 .
    * Now button while reconnecting the power supply on the printer.

Let me know if that solves the problem.

  • K5400 prints the alignment page after each document

I have a HP Officejet Pro K5400, which insists on an alignment page printing after each document.

It's on Windows XP Pro SP3, if that makes a difference!

I've tried everything I can think of to clarify this, but he persists.

I know it's the printer, I moved and installed on another PC, and the error moves with the printer!

Can someone tell me how to stop this, as HP don't seem to know!

  • Loading the default limits for each execution

    Hello

    My situation is like this:

I spend my sequence using the sequential model. Usually, the sequence is executed, 'in the loop', which means that when once the sequential model is launched, we can test unit after unit until we want to put an end for some reason any. The sequence is load dynamically by the sequential model and download after executing the step to discharge option.

In the sequence, we use limits. Default TS limits similar to below.

All our limitations change during execution depending on what unit we test and on what stage is the unit.

    Problem:

I thought that if the sequence is loaded dynamically, it is unloaded when executing the next time that the next unit will be tested the default values of the container limits will be charged (in response to being dynamically loaded and unloaded at the step which called the main sequence is executed). Unfortunately, it seems that when we realize continous test the test limits have not returned to the default value, as expected, but they are a superposition of the limits assigned by previous executions. Of course

    Issues related to the:

1 are my expectations about the behavior of TS are correct?

    2. how to impose default deadline to be 'reset', the default value for each run of the sequence, not only the first execution of sequential model?

MimiKLM wrote: I am worry the speed of loading, you talked about associated to your solution, but potential problems with memory. Let say, I called the main sequence of 1000 times without breaking execution. So instead of having one copy of the sequence called with wiped/reset all variables and properties I have 1000 copies in the memory. I would call it a waste to have 1000 copies only because I need to have the properties and variables deleted.

The copy exists only during the execution of the sequence. Once the execution of the sequence is complete, the copy will be destroyed/released. At least as long your code modules do not hold their own reference to it somewhere (which generally do not do).

If you call from the main sequence 1000 times in a loop, you must still do not have a runtime copy into memory at once. The difference is a new copy is created (and destroyed once that the sequence is made running) each time, rather than create a copy only once and reuse. There is a performance hit in this call of your sequence which is somewhat proportional to the size of your sequence, but unless your sequence is really huge, or test you execution is extremely fast, you probably won't see the difference.

Hope this helps to clear things up,

  • DeskJet 930c: avoid the aliignment page after each page

Hello, since I changed the black ink cartridge the printer prints an alignment with full black rectangles header page after each page I need to print. Is there a way to stop this behavior unconditionally

    Hi @guy_c,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I read your post and see that the alignment is printing after each page, after changing the cartridge. I will do my best to help you with this problem. If this helps you to find a solution, please click on the button "Accept as Solution" down below in this message. If you want to say thanks for my effort to help, click on the 'Thumbs Up' to give me a Kudos.

This problem occurs for one or two reasons, a problem of power, recharged cartridges or dirty contacts.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.
Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector.
This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

    Reinstall the cartridges.

I have provided a document for the cleaning of the cartridge and printer contacts, to see if that can help in this situation. Supplies HP inkjet - printing cartridge errors.

    You use genuine HP cartridges?

If the problem persists, please Contact the HP Support for help. Check the model number and the form to receive a file number for faster assistance.

Please let me know the results. Thank you.

  • Pro8000 prints the alignment page after each print job

I replaced by a black ink cartridge and printed an alignment page and did a print head cleaning. Now, an alignment page prints after each print job and cycling the printer off, then on. I turned off the printer and unplugged the printer and restarted the computer and still get the same results. I then took each cartridge and reinstall each cartridge and still the same results. I reinstalled the old ink cartridges and still the same results. Running out of paper, maybe cut down another tree. Any help would be apprecaited.

    Hi tommy61944,

I understand that you have a 8000 Officejet Pro which prints an alignment page after each print job. I'm sorry to hear what is happening, but I'll certainly do my best to help you.

I would suggest you have a look through this Alignment Page printed each print task, specifically the three Solution: print and evaluate a page impression diagnostic quality. Fact the print look page like the one in Figure 10: print a Page of Diagnostics quality? If not, that's why it keeps printing an alignment, a color can be print not correctly, or will need to be replaced. If your ink levels is all good, so maybe it's the printhead (s). You can clean the print heads manually and remove any buildup that could cause problems.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!
