  • MacMini don't auto connect to the preferred wireless network when the router reboots

My MacMini is located to join my favorite wifi network. Where I stay, there is usually a power failure close to a minute or two during the day.

My setup is such that my MacMini running 24 x 7 with a backup uninterruptible but my router (AirPort Express) turns off during the power outage. When the router goes off, my Mac disconnects from the network which should, but now when my router turns, the MacMini reconnect to the preferred network.

It shows the network preferred list, and when I manually click on this subject, it reconnects immediately without asking for password. But this will not happen automatically.

If I restart my MacMini it reconnects very well. The problem occurs only when my MacMini is but my router restarts.

To reproduce this problem on your side, just turn off your router and once your Mac disconnects from the network back on the router. See if your mac reconnects to your wifi fine.

Any solution or advice for this problem?

    Thank you.

Please test after taking each of the steps that you have not already tried it. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.

    1. If possible, test at another network, such as a public access point or hotspot created by a mobile phone. Some Wi - Fi routers are not fully compatible with Apple devices. More specifically, the security mode for the network, as shown in the network preferences window, should be 2 personal WPA or WPA 2 Enterprise. If the router doesn't support either of these modes, it should be replaced with another.

    2. make sure that the network is on the list of favorites by following these instructions. It is important to read the article, as it is the starting point for further efforts to solve the problem. If you skip any step, the problem cannot be resolved. Make sure that the box marked

Remember this computer has joined the network

    is checked.

3 follow the instructions in this article to support.

    4. reset the PRAM.

    5. take note of all your parameters of connection Wi - Fi in the network preferences pane, then remove the connection in the connection list and re-create it with the same settings. This by clicking on the icon of the lowest sign from the list of connection, select Wi - Fi as the interface in the form that opens. Select join the other network in the network name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when you are prompted, and then save it in the keychain.

    6. in the menu location at the top of the network preferences window, select Edit locations. A sheet will fall. Click on the plus sign to create a new location. Give it the name of your choice. In the new location, set up the Wi - Fi service with the same settings that you used before. Click on apply and test.

    7. run the Keychain Access application. Find and remove all the network password AirPort elements that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.

8 turn off the Bluetoothand the test.

    9. reset the system management controller.

    10. This step should not be necessary, but he has been advised by the Apple Support in some cases, apparently as a solution for a bug. Open the energy saving pane in system preferences. If necessary, click the lock icon in the lower left corner to unlock the settings. When prompted, enter your administrator login password.

Select the Power Adapter tab and uncheck the boxes marked

  • LaserJet P1102W: Hp p1102w, connect to the router

Printing wireless Dell desktop (Win 8), Dell (8 Win) laptop (Win 7) Dell laptop and rarely with the iPhone 6 and iPad Air.  All are physically within 30 feet of Cradlepoint router MBR95 that is filled to the voice/date Arris TG862g with ISP Comcast modem (20 to 25 Mbit/s on average).  Printing can be VERY slow with documents of modest size.  The printer is physically next to the router that has a USB port.  What should I do to use the HP printer cable to connect to the router to print non-wifi from PC 3?  (I assume that this configuration will solve the slow printing problem.)  And, if so, I'll be able to print also wireless of the iPad and the iPhone?

Looks like your choice on this printer is wireless or USB. It seems not to be an Ethernet connector. USB would require that you want to run the file and printer sharing. Unless your router has a USB connector supported of printer.  You say id has a USB port, so now, you should check this one supports the printers.

Wireless... the printer must be at least 6 feet from your router.

  • Unable to connect to the router EA6500

I just bought the EA6500 last week. Had to RMA on Monday and got the new today. The problem persists. The power light flashes constantly and my computer does not obtain an IP address from it. I contacted technical support and could not get the problem solved so I had exchanged them it believing that it was defective. The other did the same thing. When I connect my computer, the light on my rest Ethernet port a solid orange instead of green as it does for my usual router. The Cisco constantly flashes. I would really like to help in this question, because I doubt that I had received two defective routers in a row.

    Hi Shentok,

You can try the steps ff

    * Download the latest firmware for the EA6500
    * Download the upgrade utility, http://support.linksys.com/en-us/support/routers/BEFW11S4 . Choice hardware version 3.2 and who says utility download

    * And then connect the computer to the router (do not connect the modem again, while doing these steps)
    * Set the static IP address on your PC, such as 192.168.1.100
    * Ping the router, if you can get reply from her, then you can perform the upgrade
    * Run the utility
    * Server: 192.168.1.1
    * Password: admin
    * If the upgrade will be successful
    * turn off the router for 2 minutes after that, power on the router, then wait the powerlight stay strong
    * Once its solid, set the computer back to DHCP
    * Check if you can get an IP address from the router, if you can, you can now try to access the user interface of the router.

  • How to change the encryption type M252dw printer WPA2 (WPA - PSK) for the WPA used by the router?

We had to change the type of encryption on our WPA2 WiFi router (LAN setup origin, on which to install and successfully used our M252dw printer) and use simple WPA, to solve some other problems of connectivity.

NOW, the HP printer, we have (M252dw) apparently does not automatically reset the encryption type.

Apparently, he has no way to automatically start "from scratch" when connecting to the new configuration of router.

Even with ALL the rest on the LAN works fine and speaking well, including WiFi laptops and smart phones, the HP printer sees the new name of WiFi SSD connects to the router in order to attempt a connection, accepts the new password WPA, but RETAINS THE WPA - PSK PARAMETER OF CONFIGURATION PREVIOUS.

We know, because after that the printer fails to connect, print the network SHOWS Test report this known problem in the paragraph of the resolution of the problems, but worthless advice said to "run the setup of wireless network for re - enter your network WPA wireless security password. The WPA authentication on your HP printer has been changed from the default setting. This can cause problems connecting to your wireless network, if your wireless router does not use the same breed of WPA authentication.

    Well, DUH.

Mind you, there is NOTHING in the post above that says:
    1) go to "this" menu item.

    2) click "this" option to change the encryption method.

    (3) select the method (SSID, WEP, WPA, WPA2) that corresponds to your router.

... because... There seems to be NO option ANYWHERE in ANY menu that offers this choice.

HE DIDN'T THERE HAS NO BUTTON, OPTION, SELECTION, OR ADVICE IN THE MANUAL TO RESET OR CHOOSE WPA!

There is a checklist wonderfully unnecessary, repeated throughout your manuals and on the site, basically saying

' Check the type of printer encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.) corresponds to the router.

Well well... What do you do when you KNOW that it IS NOT?

Thanks to try at least, I appreciate it.

    Unfortunately, it did not work;

but it leads to find the answer for later use.

    Summary -

    After selecting
Printer flow treatment and deleted the saved connection data, an IPv4, subnet mask and default gateway address (router address IPv4) and IPv6 turned power on.

    Then... I did this:

    (1) Went back to and IPv6 turned to back, leaving only ON IPv4.

    2) went back to and returned once again the preferred settings.
    Address: 192.168.254.250

    Mask: 255.255.255.0

    Default gateway: 192.168.254.254

    3) reinforced by the "Wizard" where he immediately found the SSID of the wireless router.

    (4) select the SSID of the router

    (5) when it is asked for the password (which is actually just a 'word' with WPA pass) I got that.

    (6) given the printer attempts to connect and failed.

WPA - PSK same listed, even noted on the test report from network once more.

Therefore, no chance after Restore Defaults.

It really would have been nice if HP had made sure this option actually actually reset * ALL * default settings, including the wiping WPA2 security type.

(Just for reference, the DHCP range is set to 192.168.254.15 - 192.168.254.47, so that the fixed IP addresses assigned, like this printer, you can assign DHCP to be defined to ensure no changes outside.

This printer is the FIRST device assigned a fixed IP address, to make sure that nothing else can come into conflict with the IP address and eliminate it as a cause as possible.)

OK - so after your suggestion, I am inspired to re - enter the menu and look at it again.

I had already looked through what I have and not able to find the submenu I thought that has been included by HP...

.. .or I would expect a user was manually choose method/type of security encryption (SSID, WEP, WPA, WPA2)

.. .or at least handed to "REMOVE/RESET/nothing: Please ask the next router you are trying to connect to use"

One thing I found there is the option that resembled what I wanted now:

That seemed to be the best thing after trying to 'Network Defaults' so I did.

Then did a not through all the steps above, 1-6...

    * SUCCESS *.

ALSO: The printer is already running on each PC had to be "retired" in Windows

    -According to the right

    -Then follow up

-Waited for printer not found, click it, and then select

Thank you HP - I just needed to find out who Reset was correct.

Now - I humbly suggest stating that in the manual.

Under the line "Verify encryption type corresponds to router", you could add something simple like:

"IF it isn't, then select and your printer will automatically ask the next router you are trying to connect with and correspond to this type of encryption."

  • Re-login C4750 printer to the router problems

I have a Linksys WRT54GS router and a printer Photosmart C4750.  I initially connected the printer to the wireless network without any problem, but the key to security on the router has been reset and now the printer will not connect.  The network test report indicates: "your wireless router requires a WEP security key.  The key to security configured on your HP printer does not exactly.  "Run the installation of the wireless network for re - enter your WEP wireless network security key.

I tried to run the printer setup disk, but ran into a brick wall, when I was given 2 choices.  1. connect wireless ~ the router has not been detected.  2. connect w / USB cable ~ do not have.

So I do not know what to do ~ is there a way I can re - enter the security key on the printer using my laptop which is connected wireless to the router?

    Thanks for any help!

First of all, do not use WEP!  It is not secure and can also cause connection problems.  Use WPA or WPA2 with a password that you create - use 13 + characters, numbers and letters, upper and lower case.

In the printer Panel, go to settings (Scan) > networks > reset network by default.

Now start the software again for a network installation.

  • Need to connect MacPro to the router

My Mac Pro is now connected to the internet via the airport card and the modem is down. But I need to connect a router on a mac so I can run my laserprinter through a network using a RJ45 cable. I can't run the cable in the area of the modem is located. Can I connect the router directly to Mac and use the card airport as the internet connection?

    Dbarunas,

You left out some important details, but let me see if I can answer without them:

Assuming that the ISP modem you mentioned is your current destination of wifi and Airport card is built-in wifi Mac Pro adapter.  I also guess your desktop not a laptop since you don't mention MacBookPro.

    1. If your router is wireless and assuming that the 'airport' is the the computer's built-in wifi card.

(Wired connection) modem-> router (cable) * (wifi)-> laptop (wifi) (* printer cable) to connect to the router via wifi instead of the modem, then turning off the wifi on the once the router WiFi modem set up, if possible. (No need to nuke the family bits with too many signs wifi).

    2. If your router is not wireless.

Modem-> laptop (wifi) * (wired)-> router (wired) (wired)-> printer (cable) (* make sure that the computer has not a gateway specified in the network settings for this connection assigned static address.)

    3. If your router is not wireless and no other host on the router. (without router required)

Modem (wifi)-> laptop (wifi) (wired)-> * printer (cable) (static addresses the only, once again no gateway) (* this may require a crossover based on the capabilities of the printer Ethernet cable.)

When you use a wired network on the laptop and wireless Internet access, make sure the "backend" network cable is on a completely different range of addresses and 'NO' gateway assigned or the laptop would not know how to get to the INET.

  • 9.3.4 disabled wifi on an Ipad, but it connects to the router. Just don't download at all

IPad was working fine, but I've updated to 9.3.4. Now Wireless does not work. Shows connected to the router, but nothing happens, but say unable to connect to the server, error trying to access the internet or by mail. Also turn continuous flashing VPN gray to green, then again, but we have never set up a virtual private network. Don't know if it is connected. Have you tried

1 disconnection / reconnection to 2 routers that work very well for other devices

2 reset wireless via settings > general > reset > reset network settings and then hang up again

3 airplane mode on, wait a few minutes, then shut off again

Overall, the router will connect to any time, we put the password, but there is no transfer of data. 3 other devices work fine with the router. Don't know where to go from here, or if it is possible to back out from the upgrade. Anyone else having this problem? A research increase the same problem.

    Thank you

Anything that causes the problem is not specifically 9.3.4, which fixes just a security breach. Have you tried to restart routers?

  • What does this mean and how to fix: the router address you entered is not compatible with your WAN IP address.

I connect to an access provider via Airport Extreme, which is extended through two Airport Express.  When I try to edit anything in one of these devices, even a name, I get this message: "you have entered the address of the router is not compatible with your WAN IP address.  My connection seems to work, but there is clearly something wrong with her.  The Express has no DNS and will not update without the same message.  I have no idea what this is all about and will greatly appreciate the ideas.

This means that WAN Setup does not or does not install across the network.

The best way to solve this problem is beginning on...

Reset all three at the factory and reconfigure each in turn. Do the extreme first and make sure it works... Then add the express.

If you need help with that we will need to know which modem or modem router to your ISP gave you and possibly the type of services to wide band... and who is the provider.

Give us screenshots of each installer as you do.

  • Old Airport Express lost after reset of the router, the connection cannot be seen/accessed

    the train:

-Mid 2009 Macbook Pro, OS Yosemite airport 6.3.5 10.10.5, utility

-Existing wifi network via a former Ubiquiti AC wifi or router which gets internet radio antenna on the roof of the local ISP.

-old (1st gen.) A1084 Airport Express used only as a customer to listen to the music of the said Macbook.

I am a musician who has been using my old AEX to listen to the music and the recording via Airplay and Airfoil for my Roland onstage for years without problem. I don't remember how I initially put in place, but I think it's as a customer only... IE, it broadcast as its own wireless network, or extend my network wifi etc, I just use it for listening to music.

Well, a week earlier, a disgruntled rogue ex-my local ISP hacked their radio tower and all the customer routers turned into useless bricks (and also all our wifi network names changed to a name that begins with "mother" and ends by "-ers", but that's another story).

Local ISP technicians have managed to get my router all re - set up and working, but I had to reconfigure my wireless devices (example: wifi printer) from scratch to be able to connect again.

The tenacious hold on is this old Airport Express.

I try to use the instructions found online to get connected again, but nothing does.

Yes, I tried pressing the Reset button for 10 seconds, etc... He just goes at once orange flashing or sometimes solid orange light, and don't see the Airport utility. I tried to plug its ethernet port to the router's LAN port to see if the Airport utility, would see no change, Airport utility requires no base stations found. It has no Airport icon in my menu bar and no Airplay icon in any relevant application such as iTunes.

Remember that in past I was able to reset/reconnect after network changes, it seems to me (I don't remember how). BTW, its location is located a few feet from the router, in order to hang it up through ethernet is easy if need be.

Once again, I only want to not to listen to the music and the tracking records of my Macbook. Roland aren't in a convenient place for an electrician. As you can tell the age of my stuff, I'm a starving musician, don't want to have to buy something new.

I remember having long ago something similar with Firefox, but resolved by disabling the option "say it me not to follow the sites", following what connections made; just looked and it is still not verified - if this isn't it.

I looked a the packet capture and the password IS sent to the router, but it rejects the connection.

    Any ideas?

(Why is there such an extension if it is built in function?)

Disabling, allowing the router to connect! I don't know why twice now, try to activate Do not not track eliminated the possibility to connect to the router... but this is the solution.
