Choose a graphics card, card - please help!

Hello!  I'm looking to customize and purchase a Touchsmart 610 q, but I am struggling with the choice of a graphics card.  Online search has turned into a huge headache, confusion, so I hope that someone here will help!

My options are:

  • 1 GB AMD Radeon HD 6450A
  • 1 GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M
  • 2 GB AMD Radeon HD 6550 has
  • 2 GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M

I don't know if it's useful knowledge, but here's the rest of the features:

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
  • I7-2600 processor with Turbo Boost technology (up to 3.8 GHz, 8 MB cache)
  • 16GB DDR3 - 1066 MHz SODIMM (4 DIMMs)
  • 2 TB hard drive 7200 RPM SATA
  • Engravers Blu - Ray - are "Blu - ray Slot-load & SuperMulti DVD burner drive" a better option?  They are the same price...
  • LAN card wireless - n Premium and Bluetooth
  • 6-in-1 memory card reader, 4 total USB (2.0), Beats audio [with e/s for the TV Tuner option]
  • Tuner TV, ATSC-NTSC with PVR, remote
  • Integrated sound
  • Console games of HDMI, input HDMI [for discrete graphics]

I am a student academic who is actively using AutoCAD and will soon lead Revit and SolidWorks beside her.  As I understand it, these graphics cards are far from great, but can anyone recommend which would be the most promising for me - at least until I can do the upgrade?  Any advice on upgrades will be appreciated as well!

Thanks for your time, and we hope for your help!  Have a great day!

Hello

Although the HP Touchsmart is an excellent product in its own right, I would not recommend it based on the applications that you have mentioned.  Internal MMX video card is the weak point.  The Touchsmart has the CPU and memory, but the video features are simply not sufficient to really good AutoCAD programs.

I recommend that contact you each suppliers ask and get a recommendation for your particular needs.

I finally decided to improve a few pieces of hardware and im thinking that it was a mistake. I started by adding a version2.2 550w atx12v bfg power. It works like a charm and is very easy to connect. I then added 1 GB of ram (240pin pc2 5300 ddr2) taking me 2 GB to 3 GB. that went well too. I then added a bfg nvidia geforce 9500gt. and here's where the trouble begins. I installed the card using the instructions IE: disabiling graphics card integrated in the Device Manager. I then ran the driver cd of instalation. Once you are prompted to restart the computer, I did and when he started back I had a blue tint. I adjusted a lot, if not all my color options and it did not help. I called the technical support of bfg and told me that it was a faulty card. I out took it and referred to a DIFFERENT best buy. Home reinstalled drivers and the card and still have the blue tint. I've updated all the drivers I could find including my bios and the new drivers from the nvidia site. downloaded all the moniter hp tools (im using a moniter hpw1907 with dvi plug) still prevails the blue tint. the video card came with a dvi to VGA, so I thought that maybe my dvi cord has been damaged so I used the adapter and he ran into vga (I know that this cord is not defective that's what I was using before you install everything new Twitter.com) and I still have the blue tint. • BlackBerry Z3, I lost all my data on my SD storage card, please help me to retrieve the data.

    Dear Sir.

I lost all my data on my SD storage card, please help me to retrieve the data. I have a Z3, just bought only a week before, I removed the card with the phone off and then give the card again and noticed that I lost all the data. Please help

Try restarting your phone. Sometimes it shows data that brought them "disappeared". To do this, hold down your power button for about 15 seconds, until you see BlackBerry on your screen. Do not release the button until you see that without taking account of any other thing you see before that.

Try this and post back with your results.

  • I need help updating my graphics card! Help, please!

Hello, I need help. I have the HP ENVY 700-214, I absolutely love it.

If there was one thing I could change, however, it would be the graphics card. Which brings me to my question.

What is the best graphic card compatible with desktop HP ENVY 700-214? I've got DirectX 11 and Intel HD graphics card. I want to get a GeForce graphics card, but I don't want to spend my money on evil. Help, please.

    JayrollsJay, welcome to the forum.

Here is a small but powerful video card that should work on your computer.  It requires only a 300W power supply (PSU) with no extra power connector.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.

  • Z1 HP - upgrade graphics card! Help, please!

    Hello world.

First of all I would like to say my knowledge of graphics cards is very limited so if you would be kind enough to explain things to me step by step. Thank you

So I bought a Z1 - model WM427EA #ABU - and have already updated the RAM, I want to update the graphics card because AFAIK that comes with my model is completely s * the graphics on borderlands (game) look terrible on my Z1 and shiny on my new classmates Vaio all-in-one. I played with the graphics settings in the game without success.

I looked inside the Z1 and couldn't find something that looks like a graphics card. I looked at other models - one with the quadro 4000 - and they seem to have a black box, one on the left side while mine was just an empty space: s. According to most of the sites I have a card/controller "Intel HD Graphics 2000 Dynamic Video Memory Technology."

It would be possible for me to say buy a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+680 & id = 41) and paste it into my machine? I noticed that there a housing as if she had to go in a tower. I should locate and remove the controller/original graphics card before I could install it?

I really hope HP havnt done so its only compatible with some cards. Which would defeat the purpose of the machine being easily expandable...

Any help appreciated, thanks a lot

    Chris

PS you can get the specifications to

    http://www.equanet.co.UK/catalogue/item/it-equipment/computers/computer-workstations/HP-workstation-...

Make sure it is the Xeon E3-1245v2 if you intend to do this (noting the "v2" at the end)

It's a new architecture than the E3-1245 ("v1" If you want) and the v2 has a major upgrade to the graphics capabilities on the former model, will perform a little better for the CPU to destination as well tasks. It should work more fresh and quieter too, as an added bonus. It should not cost more than either a v1.

You can buy units in a sales package retail or OEM (just naked CPU). You get a heat sink with the retail package, but you don't use it. There is not generally a big cost difference between the two, however, perhaps only a few £/ $ extra for the retail box. I tend to hesitate to ebay, unless I can't avoid it (as with the MXM cards). You have problems to find a 1245v2 to stock from several reputable providers and potentially get a better deal on ebay also.

Replace the CPU isn't too difficult, but I recommend checking out a few guides before you try it yourself - I don't dive in details here on a generic CPU swap because there is nothing I can say that google or youtube will not tell you 10 times more.

There is nothing particularly unique about the replacement of the CPU in the Z. The cooler is set by a few screws and simply lifts off once they are free (and the fans are disconnected from the motherboard).

Once it is off, clean the bottom with something that won't leave a residue (e.g., not something as a solvent for nail polish with perfumes etc.. I use TIM Akasa cleaner and it works very well). Decliper and open setting around the CPU, pop in the new processor carefully, noting the location indicated by the arrow in the corner of the CPU lines until the arrow on the socket. Re-engage the strain relief and apply little thermal grease directly on the CPU (there are many on the market, I use Arctic Silver 5). Make sure not to apply too much grease, you're going to a very thin layer, better youtube it for technique.

Then all that remains is to replace the cooler (making sure not to forget to plug back in), close the PC and fire.

EDIT: One more thing-update your BIOS to the latest version before swap you the processors, it could not start with the E3-1245v2 with a BIOS earlier, which gives you a nice 'Uh Oh' moment, before realizing you have to UN-swap and then re - Exchange processors again.

    Hi I have a pavilion A1240N hp

Specifications of the PC: sound Windows 8

    with a processor dual core AMD Athlon 64 X 2 4200 +, 2000 Mhz, 2 logical processors

I have upgraded to 4 GB of ram

    motherboard model: A8M2N - LA

and all I want now is what can I do to go faster when it comes to playing games like minecraft, modern warfare.

help a graphics card and if so what kind my motherboard supports?

    Hello

Yes, for the games, a video REHELV is a must. Based on the following information, you can use a PCIe Express x 16 graphic card

    http://h10010.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&docName=c00714578

You also need a better diet for a more powerful card. The following said nothing, not even of the same characteristics:

  • HP Pavilion p7-1030 graphic card upgrade help

OK, so I have a desktop HP Pavilion p7-1030, and the graphics card is crap, I need to update something much better.

I know that I'll probably need a new power supply too, if anyone knows a good combo?

Also, where can I find the old graphics card and POWER supply in order to remove and replace?

I'm playing BF3, so it must be good.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Zxcvbnm0, welcome to the forum.

According to the specifications of the computer, there is only the embedded video.  It is integrated in the motherboard, so you cannot remove it.  It will be automatically disabled when a discreet card is installed.  Integrated video is never good for video intensive games or other programs.

I like Corsair and OCZ PSU.  I recommend at least 500W.  This will give you more choices of video cards.  You must measure the current PSU and compare the measurements to the one you choose.  Normally, I buy my parts from Newegg.

Here is an example of a good food:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817139028

I like the graphics cards XFX, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.  I recommend you to stay at 9 "long or less.  This ensures that it will not go in the space provided.

Here is an example of a video card that should work:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814150561

The PSU is where the power cord is connected.  If you do upgrades, it will help mark the wires of the PSU to make sure that you connect them correctly.  The connectors of the motherboard must be labelled, and more, the wires on the new power supply.

  • Huge problem with the graphics card. Help me pls!

Unfortunately my pc is not guaranteed, so my last hope is here on the forum.

    I have Dell Inspiron 580

Ok.So the problem was that I found myself not being able to open My Nvidia Control Panel to verify customization as one of my games was so bad. That's why I found that my disappeared from Nvidia and Intel HD Core i3 graphics took place.

And yes my pc used to run with Nvidia I have proof: P

I must say that for me (as a heavy gamer) was a great kick as Intel uses all my CPU and my games become so difficult to play.

I have tried everything that I could to restore the return of Nvidia (except one: to reinstall windows) but not one chance :(

Reinstalling the drivers did not help actually I don't even know the type of driver that I need because that Nvidia is not found.

Any advice? It will go to normal if I reinstall windows?

Thanks guys and sorry for my bad English :D

    Hi Georgina26,

You use the graphics card onboard because your monitor is connected to the video port badly. Turn off the system, unplug the video cable and connect it to the video card into the PCIe slot.

If you are not familiar with the snap of a monitor on the back of your computer, please let me know and I will give a link to some photos.

My photoshop is flashing, there are problems of compatibility with the graphics card. I tried to turn off the graphics card option in photoshop, uninstalled and installed several times, but still. Please, what should I do?

I have an Intel (R) Graphics 5500 HD and Nvidia GeForce 820 M.

I disabled the Nvidia because it seems to me that Photoshop is not supported.

  • HP ENVY 700-527c: upgrading of power supply and graphics card, need help

You just bought a NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 970 4 GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card - silver/black for my HP ENVY, but the food I have in my computer does not support this graphics card. So I was wondering if I bought the Black Corsair - CX series modular CX750M 750W ATX Power Supply - if it could fit in my computer and function properly with the graphics card and all the rest of the computer.

Almost thought you made a mistake, but you do not have BIOS rev 8 because this unit originally comes with WIN 8. The GTX 970 attracts only 145W. Corsair CX750M is3.39"x 5.91"x 6.30".  It is profoundly in your case, without connectors.   You have so much room between the existing power supply and connectors for DVD?  NVidia recommends a 500W, I would say the 600W modular version.   Its depth is 5.51 ".

  • HP Pavilion A6603W Graphics card upgrade help.

    Current graphics card:

    GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i (built-in to the motherboard as a chip)

    Power supply #: ATX-250-12Z-REV-D7R (250 Watts I think?)

    Computer model: (HP Pavilion A6603W)

Problem: Trying to figure out which is the best graphic card for upgrade with to keep up to date with current games, such as: battlefield, bad company 2, just cause 2, Amnesia: Dark descent.

Now in regards to food, I'm sure that ill have to level it as well. But I found quite reasonable online at the FRY's Electronics:

    http://www.frys.com/product/5503410

But in regards to the graphics card, I'm completely lost here that I out I can buy and not to buy. most of my games requires at least DirectX10 or more, which only takes my graphics card supported DirectX 9. I also saw that some graphics cards require power slots? I am completely new to this and I would like to have the support of users.

Oh and by the way, the minimum that I can spend is $ 250

    any suggestions?

Thank you for your time and your consideration.

Salko, to play the games you mentioned, you'll need a good mid-level video card.  I like XFX, BFG, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.  The main thing to check is the length of the card.  The newer cards are 10 "or more may not correspond to the expected location.  With a power supply that is at least 500W, you assign choices.

The Antec PSU should be fine.  However, I love OCZ and Corsair PSU for a higher power clean and stable.  They are the two manufacturers PSU enthusiast/gamer.  Check Newegg for a PSU that assign customers (read) and is rated at least 4 eggs.  It is a good indicator of the quality of the product of those who use it.

There is no drivers Windows 7 for the GeForce FX 5500.

You need a new graphics card. Until then, VGA Standard is all you can get.
