Citrix server extension installed for all users needing

Summer banging my head on this for a few days in the hope of help.

My main goal is to lockdown FF24.0ESR running on a server, Citrix 5.0 x 32.

I have the mozlla.cfg installation and work, but it does not change user interface settings (menu helps to remove, remove google toolbar... etc)

I found a kiosk extension that works great for this.
However just to test to see if I can get a job extension I use colorfultabs 28.
If I can get this working, then use this process for the extension of the kiosk.

I am unable to get the extension already installed for an existing user. Or new users or the other.

I can put the extension in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions, and it prompts the user to install the extension.

I want the already installed extension so that the user only has not to they are permissions for (nor) install the plugins. We use roaming profiles.

I read several articles and moved the extension in the program folder, without the extension to users\default and users\public, always with success. Tried the default key to HKUsers as well.

Any ideas or pointers appreciated.

Cuesta says:

it prompts the user to install the extension.

Try the following preferences of locking.

lockPref("extensions.autoDisableScopes", 0);
lockPref("extensions.shownSelectionUI", true);

Cuesta says:

moved the extension into the program folder,, move the extension to users\default and users\public

Do not use several methods for the same extension. If you want to install an extension under the installation folder,

  1. It should be placed under < installation folder > \browser\extensions
  2. Its file name must be the ID of the extension. Unpack the extension (it's a simple ZIP file with the XPI file extension) and examine install.rdf file , you can open it with a text editor. Find the line em: id . For example, the French language pack was originally named fr.xpi but it must be renamed to [email protected]

    Is it so important? I mean when the laptop is configured correctly, both users can use all the tools of Toshiba pre-installed and utilities.

    You must rename the XPI file to the ID (GU) of the extension in the install.rdf file or just install the extension in a profile and copy the file or folder of this profile in the extensions folder.

  • AddOns for all users

    I'm trying to deploy Firefox on my personal work machines.

    We use Windows 7 on them and want to be able to have available extensions for all users on this computer.

    However, after much research, it seems that all previous to this problem solutions have been limited or removed.

    There should be an easy way to have addOns installed for all users. It is not feasible to make each single user install each single addOn one by one.

    So while the links were good and everything worked, but I thought that it would take an easy source of step by step to get an addon to work for all users of a "dumbed down" version As a result I got an addOn to work for all users, there may be shortcuts here and there, but it worked for me.

    So here it is:

    1. first you need to download the '. '. XPI file"of the addOn. This is done by downloading using another browser (Internet explorer).

    2. Once downloaded, you must extract the contents of the "." XPI file"in a folder. I used WinZip to do this.

    3. go to the extracted files and you should see a file called 'install.rdf '. Open this file with WordPad.

    4 in this file is a Unique ID, specific to the addOn. It is normally at the top of the file. You can search the

     <Description about="urn:mozilla:install-manifest">

    and the next line after that it should be your ID in the form of:

     {d10d0bf8-f5b5-c8b4-a8b2-2b9879e08c5d}

    for example.

    5. with the help of this Unique ID, you must create a folder in the install directory of Mozilla Firefox called 'distribution' and a subfolder in that called "extensions" and a subfolder using the name of your Unique code.
    Example:

     C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\distribution\extensions\{d10d0bf8-f5b5-c8b4-a8b2-2b9879e08c5d}

    In this case, you should empty your extracted contents of the "." XPI file.

    6. you must now tell Mozilla to look in these folders. To do this, you need to change the global preferences. This is done by going to:

     C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref

    In this case, you should have 2 files:

     channel-prefs.js
     user.js

    If they do not exist, create them if you please.

    Inside of "channel - prefs.js" you need to put the following at the end of the file:

     pref("app.update.channel", "release");
     pref("extensions.enabledScopes", "0");
     user_pref("extensions.autoDisableScopes", 0);

    Inside the "user.js" you must put the following at the end of the file:

     user_pref("extensions.shownSelectionUI", true);
     user_pref("extensions.autoDisableScopes", 0);

    7, you're done! Your addOn should be activated automatically as soon as the user starts Firefox.

  • How to get an extension of the dictionary for all users in a Citrix environment?

    Hi all

    Under title, I'm looking for a way to get out a dictionary of Firefox (specifically the English (British) of https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/language-tools/) to all users in a Citrix environment. Comprehensive silent installation is absolutely best. Because following a recent installation of Firefox users report that this spell check is not working, what appears as a result there is no dictionary to check the spelling on the facility.

    It's in a corporate environment, running 6.5 XenApp hosted workstations to multi-server Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise x 64, the installed Firefox info below as collected by the add-on troubleshooting pulled from the browser in the test environment with the same characteristics.

    So far, I have tried what follows from this link: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installing_extensions

    "A whole installation will install an extension in the directory of the application rather than in a profile so it will be available to all users. To perform a whole installation, you must not activate as within your Mozilla application installation file. Instead, download and save this record and make sure you close the application completely.

    Then follow one of the following options:

       Copy the .xpi file into the <installation directory>\extensions folder. When you start your Mozilla application again, it displays an installation dialog, asking "The following items were found in your Extensions folder. Do you want to install them?" "

    Although it seems that the < installation directory > \extensions folder no longer exists at the given location. Find a path of the < installation directory > \browser\extensions but seems it does not behave as said here that I have not received all of the guests. I hope that this method is still applicable in some way and I am just not aware of how this is currently supposed to be handled, but not sure if it is a dictionary rather than a typical add-on will have no effect on the installation overall how can be reached.

    Have also tried to http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2268437 , which seems a pretty basic option, but this would have not only to a lot of work to do on a per user basis, but there are also restrictions in place to prevent access to the records of users AppData.

    Finally I was looking https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/740545 to push this point across: the les parametres parameters configuration, then use the method above to enforce this on the user end, but did not find anything me.

    Any help/advice/shots of elbow in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

    It might be easier to extract the files of two dictionary (.dic and .aff) of archive XPI (ZIP) and place the two files in the folder of Firefox profile for the dictionaries available for all users.

    This is your problem:

    Access-group 101 in external interface

    You link this access list to your external interface. This means that the rules are applied to incoming traffic IN your network. The implicit IP any any rule is because you have not bound to an access list on your inside interface.

    To prevent users from going out, you will need this:

    access list permit tcp host exchange_IP OUTPUT no matter what eq smtp

    access list tcp OUTPUT deny any any eq smtp

    Access-group interface inside OUT

    See how this access list is linked to the inside interface... it will affect traffic leaving your network. Note: Once you apply this inside allow any interface it will remove the implicit.

  • Can I install Firefox in a way that will never check an upgrade for all users?

    In the approximately 500 mV VDI environment I would like to disable checking of upgrades for users of all virtual machines. We cannot update Firefox until we have ensured that the new version works with specific tools. Virtual machines are linked clones that are being refreshed to their State before logon after users log off. This causes the popup to come upgrade whenever users connect. Users are not allowed to upgrade, then it is a nuisance that I would like to eliminate them.

    I found that I can use on: config to disable checking of upgrade on the image, where all virtual machines are created, but cela will not shut it for all users for the user with which the image is kept. Is there a central setting that allows me to do this? Or this would require a change in profile all users? And if the latter, what a change I need to make to their profile?

  • How to register ActiveX exe server for all users

    Hello

    I'm aware that with newer versions of the CVI and Windows when you generate an ActiveX exe server, it records only the server for the user profile.  I read one white papers OR who said that computer administrator may register the server for all users.  I am an administrator for the development of PC we use.  I went to the command and he ran as the administrator of the PC.  I then navigate to the path of the exe.  I published the regserver command.  Unfortunately, I am unable to distinguish if the server exe was registered for all users or if it combined again to my user profile.  Our server exe is called by another program of the CVI.  To validate if the server exe had been registered for all users, I had a user who had not built server exe on the development PC connection and try to start the server within its own CVI program exe.  When this has been attempted, the user receives an error "class not registered".  The user was not able to successfully launch the exe of the server until it has built on the PC itself.  It does not appear that the administrator regserver command worked to save the exe file of the server for all users.  Is anyone aware of any steps that I may have missed?
