clarification of vpn-filter ASA/pix necessary

Hello

at the moment I have a few vpn filters applied to remote access VPN groups defined and everything works as expected (sysopt connection permit VPN is enabled).

Now I need to install a few L2L tunnels and I want to limit traffic beyond the level of crypto-acl. I think I have 2 options here

1. disable sysopt connection VPN-enabled and set the ACEs on the external ACL for all my RA and L2L tunnels (preferably not by me)

2. it is sufficient to use vpn-filter for the L2L tunnels too

Option 2 is possible? Regarding my IPSec experience goes I think that it is a VPN for remote access only option, but the documentation is very vague on the subject.

This is a known bug CSCsg60095 and is supposed to be fixed in version 7.2.2.7.

    in the past I've implemented several VPN connections between the devices of the SAA. So I thought a site link between an ASA site and 1841 would be easier... But it seems I was mistaken.

    It seems to Phase 1 and 2 are coming although my ASA in ADSM reports (monitoring > VPN > VPN statistics > Sessions) a tunnel established with some of the Tx traffic but 0 Rx traffic),

    It seems that the routing on the 1841 is working properly as I can tear down the tunnel and relaunch in scathing a host on the network of 1841, but not vice versa.

    Trounleshoot VPN of the 1841 report shows a message like "the following sources are forwarded through the interface card crypto.      (172.20.2.0 1) go to "Configure-> routing" and correct the routing table.

    I have not found an error on the 1841 config so if one of the guys reading this thread has an idea I appreciate highly suspicion!

    ASA receives not all VPN packages because IOS does not send anything.

    Try to send packets to the 1841 LAN to LAN of the ASA and see is the "sh cry ips its" on the 1841 increments the encrypted packets (there not)

    The problem seems so on the side of the router.

    I think that is a routing problem, but you only have one default gateway (no other channels on the router).

    The ACL 100 is set to encrypt the traffic between the two subnets.

    It seems that the ACL 101 is also bypassing NAT for VPN traffic.

    Follow these steps:

    Try running traffic of LAN router inside IP (source of ping 192.168.37.x 172.20.2.254) and see if the packages are not through the translation and obtaining encrypted.

    I would also like to delete 100 ACL from the inside interface on the router because it is used for the VPN. You can create an another ACL to apply to the interface.

  • Darkness of 8.4 (1) vpn L2L filter ASA when you specify the Protocol and port

    Hi all - I've spent many hours trying to diagnose this and have read several discussions and the Cisco docs unsuccessfully...

    Situation: two sites running Cisco ASA 5520 on 8.4 (1) with L2L IPsec on the public internet between each of them. The configuration of IPsec and associated routing works as it should and we are able to pass traffic between networks private behind each device as expected. The problem occurs when you try to block sessions using a vpn-filter group policy configuration.

    Each site has 3 private subnets that are able to communicate correctly without the vpn-filter configuration. We want to restrict access to specific protocols, hosts, and ports between each network.

    SITE A: 10.10.0.0/18, 10.10.64.0/18, 10.10.128.0/18

    SITE B: 10.20.0.0/18, 10.20.64.0/18, 10.20.128.0/18

    When we apply a filter-vpn configuration which restricted access only two guests, as follows...

    SITE A: vpn_acl_x_x_x_x list extended access permit ip host 10.20.0.1 host 10.10.0.1

    SITE b: the ip host 10.10.0.1 allowed extended access list vpn_acl_x_x_x_x host 10.20.0.1

    ... the configuration works correctly. However, when we try to lock the configuration more far and specify the protocols and ports, as follows...

    SITE A: vpn_acl_x_x_x_x list extended access permit tcp host 10.20.0.1 host 10.10.0.1 eq 22

    SITE b: vpn_acl_x_x_x_x to the list of access permit tcp host 10.10.0.1 host 10.20.0.1 eq 22

    ... and then try to establish a SSH connection between 10.10.0.1 and 10.20.0.1 or vice versa, the package is stopped on the side of the SOURCE. ..

    The ACE must be implemented on the source and the end of the tunnel destination to facilitate this configuration.

    EXAMPLE 1: allow SSH two-way communication between hosts on each network (SITE A can connect to SITE B, SITE B can connect to SITE A)...

  • 8.2 ASA vpn filter for connections l2l

    I have a vpn-filter set to my police L2L. The remote site uses a Cisco 1811 router and the main hub is a Cisco 5580. I already have an acl of vpn-filter in place on an existing L2L connection which works fine. The only question is, when I make changes to the ACLs for add/remove access, I have to reload the whole of the tunnel until the changes take place.

    My question is, are at - it a command to reload the access control without destroying the tunnel?

    Design whenever there are changes in the attributes of Group Policy (including the vpn-filter, dns ip of victories or vpn-Protocol etc.), you need to reset the respective tunnel while phase 2 is negotiating with the newly added policy. The command to clear a specific tunnel is: -.

    So, to answer your query wasn't there command is not to reset the access control. There had been such a command you would still back the tunnel to trigger negotiations ipsec with the new group policy settings.

  • Should I apply a single to several L2L VPN VPN filter, or each VPN tunnel have their own VPN on an ASA filter?

    Currently, I am trying to decide if what VPN creation filters, if I just create one and apply to multiple VPN tunnels or if each must have their own VPN tunnel filter VPN. Creating a VPN filter for each VPN tunnel seems like extra work but do not know if this is the best choice. I looked through the documentation, but they never mention the VPN application filters to several tunnels.

    If you add filters for each VPN tunnel group, it will be more work, but at the same, you will have more control over the external users trying to connect to your network.

    I would say that you have different groups tunnel (each of them will have their own funcionallity) therefore its depends on what you're trying to implement.

    If the people who are going to use X tunnel-group are the same as those who use the tunnel-group is then you can use the same than that.

    I've set up a site to site VPN and I can't seem to get the VPN filter works. I've followed this document:

    I created an ACL and created an ACE with only traffic I want to allow. Then, I went to the site to site group policy and apply this filter. However, I can still ping remote network from a customer who should not be allowed. Remote network is 192.168.2.0/24.Here is my partial config:

    First of all I would like to clarify that the group name used for one site to the other tunnel tunnel must be the ip address of the host "at least for the tunnels l2l static" it's tunnel-g were you must apply this "Test" group policy, configuring the filter seems perfect, but you must make sure that you apply the strategy of Group accordingly. Now, once you apply group policy to the correct you have to bounce the tunnel tunnel-g otherwise the new filter will not take effect, you can use the command "erase the crypto ipsec his counterpart x.x.x.x" generate some traffic and bring up the tunnel is again he should have the filter.

    If you apply correctly and bounce the tunnel it will work.

    I think you could have said the original question in a way that could be missleading. In other words, if I understand now.

    From what I understand now, you have the DMZ set up the server that are measured with a public IP address on the real servers. And for those that you have configured NAT0.

    Then you have other servers that do not have public IP addresses themselves, but they are translated on the SAA.

    If this is the case, then the next question would be. The server with the NAT should attend the L2L VPN connection with their real IP or address IP NAT.

    Of course if you configure static NAT for the same servers and NAT0 the NAT0 will always win.

    The cert needs to have defined Digital Signature key usage.

    Don't know what models are available on MS, but it should be something like "User Ipsec" I guess.

    Make 8 ASA behave like ASA 7 (i.e. disable th control on the use of the key of the cert), configure:

    If you want to get rid of the problems and complexity can be used access VPN filter lists you can run the following command

    No vpn sysopt connection permit

    At least in this way you encounter the problem that you actually more open that you expect with the type of VPN ACL filter. And as I said it is not quite as complicated to manage.

    I must say however that I do not use the two ways depending on the environment that I am setting up.

    I have a strange problem with a site to site VPN. I configured it completely and I added 3 of my internal networks to be encrypted and access the remote network across the tunnel.

    For some reason, I can access the remote network of only two of the three internal networkls that I've specified.

    We have routers DLink DIR - 130 5505 s ASA and PIXen, all work well with our PIX 515E, we need to replace.

    It is easy to achieve. You must configure three things:

    (1) allow same-security-traffic intra-interface on ASA1

    (2) extend the crypto-ACL on all devices:

    ASA2 to ASA1:
