'clean boot' will delete files saved... documents, photos etc?

Our HP laptop gets slower of the day.  The blue little spinning circle won't go away.  After reading the other posts, looks like I need to "clean boot" it.   My question is will erase saved documents and photos that I have on the computer?  Thanks for any advice.

A clean boot is just a way to start your computer with a minimum of programs and drivers for you to solve the problems which programs and driver (s) can cause a problem. It does not remove your personal files such as documents and images.

Having said that, I strongly recommend that you regularly back up all personal files are important to you in a separate drive - such as an external hard drive or DVD. This is particularly important if you do something important on your computer (such as the level) or other difficulties. In addition, while hard disks are usually reliable enough these days, they can and fail without warning - if you have not backed up then its probably goodbye to your files.

With respect to the slower your computer, I'd take a glance on the advice of this article:

I tried to restore to an earlier date that did not work.

When you create a new user, the directory will not present until you connect for the first time this new user.  The fast way so disconnect and connect under the newly created user.  After that, the folder would be present.

The way alternative copy of the files on an external drive and copy then back also works, but there are also that you connect as long as this new user to do this.

The top of the default user folder account Security page is [heart] to this user and administrators only (that's why the lock symbol).  You should be able to bypass this security, if you are signed in with an account that has administrator privileges.  Otherwise, you will need to log on as the owner of this folder, right-click on the folder-> Security (tab) and change the security to allow access by other users.

  • Windows Search is no longer class files in Documents/music etc

I have an SSD as my main system drive and a normal player as my data disc for music, etc.  I have My Document / my music, etc. files installs on the data disk using the location of the folders tab to help relocate them on my data disc.  I rechecked my library all point to the correct locations, BUT when I use search programs and files in the start bar, nothing is never categorized in Documents/music etc all I see is the Panel of configuration/programs and files. Files lists some of what I have in My Documents etc.  It's like Windows search completely ignores everything I put in place in libraries today.  I tried various things, reconstruction of my index finger, to transfer my Documents etc back to my SSD.  Microsoft Search seems to just ignore everything now in my library?  Any thoughts?

  • How to set up a clean boot in order to update

I want to update Internet Explorer from IE6 to IE8 and there are a few other updates I want.  All the required updates were made automatically.

Troubleshooting of IE8 suggests a clean boot. I got an error message of my logon 'power', so I logged in 'administrator '. I followed the article 310353. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

In the service tab of msconfig, the article says "Click to select the hide all Microsoft Services check box." and "click disable all, then OK." Like I said that I am logged on as administrator. I get the message "You may need to log on using an administrator account to make the specified changes."

I am looking for a way to install IE8.  I clicked back to the settings default to IE6 and rebooted.  I hope to do the update within a clean boot will operate.

Yes, right or it could just be a matter of system settings.

I had my Matshita drive to a DVD ram drive.  ImgBurn can now read that an iso and Windows Media Player can read my choice of a collection of avi.

The problem of google + has proved to be no more than AdBlock blocked the text don't box that opens to let a message on his screen.

Logged in as 'Administrator', I'm not allowed to make necessary adjustments in msconfig to boot and I am not allowed to change group policy to create Microsoft Active Setup.

The most obvious problem is a protected folder stored in Shared Documents, which is invisible. Show encrypted or compressed NTFS in color is enabled in folder options, so I should be able to see the file, right?

  • Deleted files are located in the search

I deleted files of documents to a certain location on my computer. Well, after a few days, I find the file deleted by name, and I have seen a miracle, the files are exist in my pc but I can't open those. who are only image. How can I delete a file or folder without images or shortcuts?

This is probably because deleted files are still in the search Index - this is how it works under Vista.  Try to rebuild the search Index: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2103/vista_rebuilding_the_search_index/.  Wait until she finishes (it may take a while) and then try the search for files deleted - they will show no doubt is no longer.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

    1. do you receive any error messages?
2 has there been any changes made on the computer before the show?

    Method 1:
If this solves the problem, you can run check and the (SFC) System File Checker tool. SFC scan would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

If the problem persists, you can create a new user account and check if the problem still persists.

    Create a user account
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-a-user-account

If the problem is resolved in the new user account, you may have corrupted profile.

    Method 3:

If the problem persists you can scan your computer anti-virus using the Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Microsoft safety scanner will help us to get rid of software viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

  • Best way to clean previously deleted files

    Hello

I give my laptop a friend so I spent some time remove personal files and removing programs that I paid for. Mainly of him leaving the OS of Windows 7 Pro, free software security/anti-malware, Microsoft Works, Adobe Reader, etc., bit stripped.

So, I know that even if I deleted my personal files, they are still there until writes above. Which leads to my question, can anyone recommend how to permanently delete/clean/clean previously deleted files, even those that have been deleted from the Recycle Bin, whether by a program in the operating system or a third-party software?

  • What is happening in the original file of the photo when I import it in Photos and I have the "Delete after import" box checked?

What is happening in the original file of the photo when I import it in Photos and I have the "Delete after import" box checked?

When organizing photos for Photos for Mac app, I find that the Photos makes "copies" of files within the library of Photos and must reference a file if your settings are such that you do not copy the original files in the Photos app.

Trying to manage the disk space for the Macbook Pro.

The delete after import is available only when you import a device - a camera, card, an iPhone, but not when you import files from a folder on the system drive.

You can delete the local image files of your system drive yourself, once you have imported the Photos and they were copied in the photo library.

I would never use the option "delete after Import. The files will be deleted until you can check if the files have been imported correctly. If you find out later, that some of the imported files are corupted and illegible, it will be repeated o toolate import, because the files have been deleted from the device. Or worse, if pictures should plant a reason any during the import, all the pictures will be lost, if you have enabled "delete after import.

    Hello

I'm looking at a friends by Satellite C50D-B-120. It does not start. There OpenOffice files on it, but I don't know exactly where. If I try the "Refresh your PC" option troubleshooting it will delete all files?

    Hi Matt

I found very interesting Toshiba technical support document in the Knowledge Base, and I think it might be useful to you.

    Windows Recovery 8 & repair
    APS2. Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm

The 'Refresh' option is primarily a repair technique. It is a good method to return your PC to a known good state while preserving your files and a large part of your configuration. With the option "Refresh your PC", accounts of users, data files and some settings are retained on your PC without the need to create a backup or make choices about what to keep or delete.

This means that the data should not be affected by using the update your PC option.
