I don't know why you create as different catalogs. Some of them have different names and no doubt containing different pictures. The most effective way to use Lightroom is to have a single catalog. I don't know what is in your catalogs named differently. But it would be wise to spend some time looking at what's in each catalog. Create a new catalog, and then import from each of the different catalogs (you'll probably import of each of them, but I don't know). After you have everything combined into a single catalog and are convinced that you have everything, so you can safely remove all of these other catalogs.

I have an older version of Firefox and adobe on a Sony VAIO. I get telling me to update the pop-ups and also frequent failures when I try to use the browser. I try to upgrade. I go through the process of downloading, then try step execution and get a message 'not allowed '. I checked and I have administrator privileges, and I have disabled the firewall security software, thinking that it does not block the installation, but nothing works. Firefox reset function move your old folder settings on your desktop, inside a folder named old data from Firefox. Please keep this record for a few weeks in case you need to recover anything of him.

If the reset does not help, there are two main variables remaining here: possible corruption in the settings (your profile folder) files that are reported after a reset and possible problems in your Firefox program folder.

    Create a new Firefox profile

A new profile will be your plugins installed by system (for example, Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions or other customizations. It will also have databases of completely fresh settings and cool a cache folder.

Out of Firefox and start in the profile using Start Manager > Run (hold the Windows key press R):

    firefox.exe -P

    Do not delete anything here.

Any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Go ahead and click on the button to create a profile, give it a name such as Nov8 and ignore the possibility of changing the location of the folder. Then launch Firefox in the new profile that you have created.

Until you return to the profile and start-up Manager in your regular profile, your desktop shortcut should launch the new profile.

Other than not having your settings, it works normally?

Note: When you return to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the button Delete a profile on your new test profile. It's a little too easy to accidentally delete your 'real' profile, so I recommend you to resist the temptation. If you don't want to clean up later, I suggest to make a backup of all your profiles first in case something go wrong.

You can replace the Firefox program files without disturbing your settings by using this clean reinstall procedure:

    (1) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 33 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (2) as appropriate, close Firefox or make sure there is full compliance in the Task Manager.

    (3) to rename the folder (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

    (4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    It runs?

Note: Some plugins recently installed can exist only in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \OldFirefox\Plugins
    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \OldFirefox\browser\plugins
  • I just downloaded the latest version of firefox, and apparently it was supposed to replace my old version, why can I still access the old version of my icon in the dock.

I'm using mac os x version 10.7.4 and I try to update Firefox 3.5.5 version to the latest version. The Firefox icon in my doc still persists and leads me to the old version of Firefox. If it's supposed to happen?

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

How to uninstall this upgrade. The old version was 3.6.something (I can't open FF to see). The upgrade will not work with this OS.

    1. download a copy of the Firefox program the link above jscher2000 gave us in his response

    2. Trash , install the current application of Firefox to do a cleaning.

    3. install the version you downloaded (3.6.28).

Do not select to delete your personal data, your profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks or other personal data.

See also: Installation of Firefox on Mac

Remember 3.6.28 this is not supported over (this is the last for your 10.4.11 mac)

  • Replacement of the old versions on recovery media

I have a Satellite Pro A120 and the disk that came with it has many old versions of the software. Is it possible to replace these and change the configuration of the installation so that the most recent versions show in the installation menu?

I tried to simply replace the exe files but am stuck as to where Edit menu of installation for the most recent versions are visible.
Thanks in advance for any help.

No, it s is not possible, but you can try to create a CD image.
You can use nLite software to create clean windows boot CD.
This software allows you to integrate the drivers, tools for the installation CD.
The i386 folder that is necessary for the creation of this CD should be placed on the HARD drive.
(the Toshiba Recovery CD creates this folder i386 to the HARD disk)

You cannot extract a whole program from the Windows.old folder, it is used to recover individual files.

You must reinstall the antivirus from the original media. Most AV programs can be downloaded from the Web

Consider installing Microsoft's Security Essentials Antivirus program. It is clean, simple and free.

I recently installed the trial Adobe XI and end of the trial period, so I wanted to revert to the version that I already had. I didn't know any uninstall feature and my old version is apparently replaced by the trial version. I can not re - install a version previous b/c I need a product Id (God alone knows where it is now) and a way to uninstall the trial. Any ideas?

When you installed the trial, it should have been an option for ignoring your current installation and let. Apparently you skipped this case. To uninstall the trial (in Windows) go to control panel > programs and features and select XI Acrobat and choose uninstall. After uninstallation, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html to clean your system. HOWEVER, if you see your old Acrobat in this window, do not run the vacuum cleaner, but do a repair on the old version.

You did not mention the old version you had. You could try http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html. With respect to S/N, you should have the registry and if so you can get it from Adobe. The instructions are at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html#adobeproductdownload.

Be sure to save any download of the old Installer and the S/N for CD or HD backup for future use. They will likely not be available.

  • Clean up older versions

I'm on CS5.5 is about to upgrade to CS6.  I have updated several times and I still have remnants of older versions hanging around.  Is there a recommended way to clean all the old stuff and have still CS6 inherit my settings?

    Jerry

    Hi jwvaughn,

You can use the creative suite cleanup tool to remove the oldest remains of the software. Software SomeAdobe inherit the settings / configurations from earlier versions. If you delete the old version of the most recent version of the software will be the default settings.

  • What is the best way to install the new version--adobe always let things of the old version

    Hello

I went through the installation of a new version, well... 8 times before. And I noticed that adobe has the bad habit of not properly uninstall previous versions...

What is the best way to do it?

Should I do an adobe install and regular confidence this time to remove completely the old version and its associated directories?

Or should I uninstall the old version and install a new one? I was always afraid to go this route files bocause Organizer.

    Thanks for your comments.

Because fortunately, most of the Adobe programs can coexist on the same computer, Adobe does NOT overwrite previous versions

Now, if all uninstall completely from a previous installation, they would first use the uninstaller in Add/Remove programs. Then, a registry cleaner like CCleaner will take care of all that remains there. But wait, there is more!  For example, PrE, will NOT remove existing projects, which many people feel is a great thing. In addition, pre will not delete the preferences file, and this is why it is necessary to reset the preferences, if there are problems, even after repeated uninstalls / reinstalls. They can be removed manually. These two latter features security measures to protect users.

    Good luck
