CLEANING THE DRIVE SYSTEM

Whenever I browse the system disk is quickly exhausted or shrinks. How can I free up more space on this drive? My hard drive is 500 GB, the drive system takes 80 GB; Now, it has only 100 MB of free space. I need about 20 GB for effective performance; Bright clues?

Hello

You'd be surprised how many people ignore disk cleanup and cleaning of the new system file... Some people also navigate a large NUMBER of graphics, that can use a ton of temporary space.

Recently, I came across something that at least sometimes, indicates that this is related to the indexing of research essentially going nuts... The file out of control seems to be... C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\Windows.edb...

This file is located in an area that is locked, unless you have changed the Ownership\Permissions of the files, but you should be able to access the DATA and to check its file size to see if it is the culprit...

If so, here are some links with more info...

http://superuser.com/questions/59864/stopping-Microsoft-Search-from-eating-my-hard-drive

http://windows7themes.NET/what-is-Windows-edb-can-i-delete-it-or-change-its-location.html

There is another file for Windows that can do as well... I'll have to look for the info...

Also... Your Windows\TEMP folders will only be cleaning after seven days. Which may or may not be what that suddenly erased.

If you remove the heat sink / fan there is a good chance that your guarantee may be cancelled. If the palette for fans of cleaning and wipe the dust do not work, then just send it in, and the deposit will change a new fan/heater for you.

  • Tecra 8000: Cannot start - Message "Insert disc in the drive system" lights

I have a Tecra 8000, I've not used for about two months. Now when I try to start the "Disk system to insert in the drive" message on the display. I tried three disks in the system, but they have not been accepted and the same message appears. I visited in the 'setup' and changed priorities and tried to floppy, CD-ROM, HARD disk drive, and the same message every time. Is it possible that the internal battery "backup" is completely flat?

    Hello

Well, I'm not sure about your suggestion of the bios battery. Usually, you will see an error massage low battery BIOS or CMOS battery low.
Well, but if the battery is low, so all settings are disabled and the BIOS can't save the changes.

  • Replacing the drive system of IQ770

My IQ770 system disk is defective and must be replaced.

Anyone know where I can find details on replacing this drive?

    Easy,.

Take a SATA on your preferred provider. 30 GB - 10 000 tb

    Example of 500 GB = £30

Better yet to catch one in a basket, then you get a caddy for an extra 10 or 15 dollars.

But 3.5 "disk right!  You can use a notebook drive, they work too, but perhaps not as well.

Find an imaging tool to perform disk to disk cloning (ghosting).

Remove the current disc, connect to a shopping cart.

connect new drive to a shopping cart

Connect to a working machine and clone.

I don't think that you can clone an active (System) drive, that's why I said remove.

But there may be other methods around to clone the disks these days.

Maybe start on OS linux on CD, with a disk in the machine and the other in the caddy.

There are always several ways to peel a Banana.

In any case, cloning the drive will ensure that you keep your intact recovery partition.

Once cloned infact it will be just plug and

the machine will be exactly how it was, but a new drive.

    Ahhhh... the disk location... ??

    Raise the screen,

You will find the release in the central section, the top of the front façade.

(above the crack CD and scale, below the joint)

This will push down (not in) and the rear is going to jump off.

Loosen the two lower screws of caddy, remove the two more top of the page.

To replace the back cover just hold against the contact surface

and press the release button again, do not try to break all just come back on!

If you just bend the metal tabs to the original shape once you fail.

The rest should be simple veil.

    Hope that helps.

    HV.

  • Can I clean the hard drive before installing Windows Dell & as I've heard doesent clean properly. And how to clean the drive of DART?

Can I clean hard drive before installing Dell Windows 7 / as I have heard it is not clean everything properly. So how to clean the hard drive?

Or can I restore my office before you install Windows 7 in the first place when it's new?

    Kind regards

    Bert Pooler

Yes, you can restore the State as it was when new...

Your computer is equipped with a recovery instead of disk partition...

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

You may need to try several times to get everything above to work. If after several attempts, you have no chance, or the machine indicates that there is no recovery partition, your only option is to contact the computer manufacturer and ask for the model recovery discs...

After the reset, you should get all the updates from Windows Update EXCEPT for hardware devices. Then, you install a good antivirus. ONLY AFTER you have done this, if you replace the stuff of backups or install anything else.

Y at - it a fix for this problem?

What makes you thing that D: is a data reader? It came with your
computer? If so, it's probably a recovery partition, which you got
    instead of a DVD.

If this is a recovery partition, it came with it instead of a DVD, and
instructions on how to use it. It also came with instructions on how
to burn the content of this partition to a DVD,
and that should have been the first thing you did when you guessed it.
Since a hard disk crash leaves you with nothing.

You must do so immediately. If you do not find the instructions,
Contact your manufacturer or check their web site.

And more importantly, if this is what it is, you should never write
data or anything else for her.

  • Restore complete PC - either does not start or before restoration, said "the disk is defined as active in the BIOS is too small to recover the original system drive."

I am trying to restore an image backup Vista 64 is 428 GB, the drive under restoration is a Velociraptor 2x300GB RAID 0 (about 558 GB under Windows), and the drive on which the image originated was is labeled as a 750 GB drive (actually about 698 GB / 433 GB used). When I first made the attempt I got some message on the target drive, have to be cleaned by diskpart, so I did. After that, I was able to complete the restoration - but after the restoration, at startup, I get the message:

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected bootable media and press a key.

And under Windows, the drive does not appear. Disk Management displays the disk as unallocated space. So I added a new Simple Volume and then tried the new restoration. But now I get the message:

"The drive is set as enabled in the BIOS is too small to recover the original system drive."

Even if the restore completed successfully after cleaning, the drive is empty, and the player has more than 100 GB more space than the size of the image. After the restoration after the own, why can't it detect the boot sector; and if I try to restore after formatting, why do we say that the disc is too small? How can I successfully restore?

  • Satellite L505-10J - cleaning of the radiator system

    Hello!

My L505-10J system heat sink seems to be sprinkled at the same time, that the fan is more comparative work initially and to the exhaust air flow is barely perceptible.

My old laptop manufacturing another hat cover to access the RAM slots and fan/radiator as well... remove dust was easy enough.

L505-10 days don't have that easy access to the fan, looks like I have to open it completely.

Am I losing the warranty if I opened the laptop for the cleaning of the questions? Is there an easier way to clean?

    Thank you and best regards,

    daFlox

    Hi daFlox,

I use Toshiba laptops for years but I never opened it to clean the radiator system. This is not necessary because you need only spray compressed air to do this. Just blow air through the BACE h of the cases where the fan is. This can blow off the dust. You can get the jet of compressed air from each dealer computer I think.

By the way: even I found this article in the section fair questions:
    [http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=40 | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=105]

And if you open the case, you will lose your warranty, that's right, but as I wrote it to clean your system it s is not necessary.

  • How to upgrade the operating system on the new ssd and make the old disk to a data drive system

    Hello

I have a hp envy m7j010dx with windows 8.1.  It came pre-installed (windows 8) on a 1 TB hard drive.  I recently bought a samsung 840 pro 250 GB ssd that I wouold like to make the drive system and make the original drive my data disc.  confused on how to do it.  hey this is cool not clone. all I can find is stuff of backup or restore.  I just want to put the original on the new disk computer.

    Thanks for any info... soundears

Start by creating a recovery kit. See the following link for the procedure:

HP computers - create a recovery Disk Image or save an Image recovery on a USB (Windows 8)
Learn how to create recovery DVDs or to save a recovery image on a USB flash drive to restore all the original software, in the case of a computer problem major.

Remove the 1 TB of HARD drive pre-installation and install 250 GB SSD. Use the recovery kit and perform the recovery of the system. See the following link for the procedure:

HP computers - running a HP System Recovery (Windows 8)
HP System Recovery allows to reinstall or restore a HP with Windows 8 computer to the way it was at a previous time.

Then you can connect the 1 TB HARD drive as a data disc and use it.

You can't avoid it. All Adobe applications will write policies at least some data to the root of the drive system for shared components, such as PDF and management, the system of licences and a few other things. Of course, you could avoid it, but it means that you need to reinstall your operating system and configure the various default directories differently. Applies to this (tha on the use of the DSS):

  • After the reinstallation of the operating system on my A30, the player will stop recognizing DVDs

HI I HAVE RECENTLY REINSTALLED MY OPERATING SYSTEM USING THE DRIVES SYSTEM OF TOSHIBA AND NOW MY PLAYER SD-R2412 CEASED TO DETECT AND KINDS OF DVD.

AFTER LOOKING AT THE FORUMS, I'M STILL CONFUSED FOR THE ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM. I DON'T KNOW IF ITS THE DRIVE, THE SYSTEM, DRIVERS OR WHAT.

ITS AN A30 SERIES PRESENTED AT THE DEC 03. Help, please.

    Hello UCS

The fact is: If the unit is pre-installed with original recovery media, the installation is absolutely clean and all hardware components are installed with the correct driver.

What is the State of the drive in Device Manager? The drive is recognized in Windows Explorer? Please check the functionality with the original DVD movies? If there is no success, I guess the drive is faulty, and it is unclear to me that you can remedy this by using a firmware or something like that.

In my opinion this isn't a problem with the operating system. It may be just a malfunction of the DVD drive.

It is difficult, if not impossible, to be certain that you have removed all personal information, if you only selectively delete some files (like, for example, using the tool disk cleanup).

You can safely and completely clean the drive using Darik Boot and Nuke (DBAN).  This, of course, will also remove Windows so anyone who you give the computer will have to reinstall Windows or any other operating system.
