  • Cannot install clean Windows 8.1 get pick up the product key from the BIOS

I have Acer S3-391 with a pre-installed 8 Win. First, I thought that I would like to downgrade to Win 7 Pro as I am used to Win 7. So, I

remove the recovery partition from Acer Windows 8 on my hard drive and installed Win 7 Pro (with my own product key) on this subject. Also, I've updated to version 2.17 UEFI BIOS.

Now I decided to reinstall Win 8 on my laptop, but I am running into a problem:

As I deleted the original recovery partition which included all the bloatware is it came with, I use a Windows 8.1 cleaning ISO image trasnferred a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive. It's actually an ISO Windows 8.1 Professional, but I added the file 'ei.cfg' "basic" settings and "OEM" inside. So he installed a clean Windows 8.1 with UEFI BIOS setting, but it will not pick up a product key from the UEFI BIOS. It assigns a generic key and I can't activate it with Microsoft.

Any suggestions to make it meet on the embeded BIOS product key without ordering a recovery DVD set for $45 at Acer?

    Thank you.

You're right, it comes with 8.0 OEM. Last night, I found Win 8.0 ISO, modified with the folder $ $OEM and activated!

  • Cannot install the update for Windows vista (KB2718704) a safe mode or after clean window reboot

I can't install the update for Windows vista (KB2718704), a mode without failure or after clean window reboot.

    What should I do?

    Hello

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         You are able to install other updates successfully?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot State to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 7 the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.

Method 4: Follow the steps in the article.

How to reset the Windows Update components?

Note: You must take the backup of the data before performing any installation of windows.

  • Lenovo X 1 Yoga (20FQ) clean Windows 10 Pro Install UEFI

    Hello

I decided to do a clean install of Windows 10 Professional (x 64) on my Lenovo X 1 Yoga (20FQ).

I'm currently pulling my hair out trying to install Windows 10 in UEFI mode, I want to do so that I can use all the features of the TPM and bitlocker. No matter what I do I was not able to install Windows 10 Professional (x 64) in UEFI mode, I was able to install it in legacy mode. I tried several BIOS configurations in terms of disable/enable Legacy UEFI OS at startup, but when I put the BIOS only UEFI mode the key USB Windows 10 Professional (x 64) (that I created using the file .iso image downloaded with Microsoft download tool), the machine refuses to boot from the USB or PCIe-NVMe UEFI in mode only.

Can someone point me to a guide to install Windows to UEFI mode?

I'm sure to UEFI, the file system must be FAT32 not NTFS.

It may seem strange for NTFS works with 'legacy', but not UEFI - but I think that FAT32 is now considered a 'standard' and integrated with UEFI while NTFS is still proprietary format of Ms...

I bought a new Ideapad y510p just before Christmas and I wanted to do a clean install of Windows 7-64 bit.

I created a USB startup device as required and put the drivers from lenovo on her page too.

My problem is: after you delete the partitions, the installer of windows 7 do not recognize the SSD more...
My BIOS is set with legacy of disabled secure boot support.

Furthermore, when it came to load the drivers, it says no driver signed device not found.

Someone has an idea of what's going on?

    Hi Clet,

Since the serial number on this picture, you have the 59375625 model. After digging further, this parts search page and this point merchant does not seem an SSD on the specifications list. If the reception / box indicates that you have a 1 TB + 24 GB SSD, you may need to check under the hood (see pages 38-39 of the hardware maintenance manual)

  • Clean Windows 7 install on t400

I'll do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit on my t400. It was my son from the College and vista tracks. It is still running terrible even with the update of ram last year, so I think that a clean install is the only way. I did a clean more than a decade installation and never on a lenovo so I want to assure you that I know what I'm doing and I have a few questions.

1 are there problems with it being granted College? I never accessed as administrator to make some changes or updates. Put in shape will address potential problems?

    2. is there a specific Lenovo partition, which must be kept?

    3. can I use Download Manager to download the drivers?

    4. is to install the two rescue and recovery (which I did not currently) and thinkvantage (which I can't use currently) just a matter of each download?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

I guess you will completely replace what's there, and you don't need my personal files, etc. I first update the BIOS with the latest version and bot in the BIOS and press F9 to load the default values. I would simply erase the disc first. I use something like Active Kill Disk (free). If it's a copy retail, normal or student, there should be no problem. It is best if you have a version which includes service pack 1 already. If you don't have SP1, you can have problems if you have already upgraded the hard disk larger format, advanced. I'd install ThinkVantage System Update to make updates from Lenovo.

  • Clean WIndows XP install

    Hello world!

I now have a working windows xp sp3 with a product key I bought running. I want to perform a clean installation of windows xp that came with my computer - with the product key that is located on a sticker at the back of my laptop (my laptop has failed with an OEM win xp CD).

I understand there is an option for this through the lenovo care button when I start my computer, I have tried, I chose - hardware diagnosis and recovery - but it only that back to my old windows xp and nothing else.

It aims to install my windows purchased at a desktop computer... and on my laptop using windows with the key to the East came with the computer.

Thanks guys, I mangaged. The solution is: installation on my old windows Lenovo Rescue & Recovery and then start pressing the lenovo care butten - there is an option to format the hard drive and install windows level 'Factory' - that's what I needed.

  • Don't Aspire Switch 10 no sound after clean windows install

I installed a clean version of windows 10 (not acer windows) earlier and since then against hepatitis has ever had his fate of the speaker or headphone output port. If I connect to HDMI or use the bluetooth speakers it works, but it's pretty rare that I do and it is certainly not practical.

The drivers are updated, ive tried reinstalling them, fitness again with windows, playing with the bios but it is very limited with what you can do. I was going to attempt to reinstall the factory windows version 8, but I can't know exactly how do.

If I go to playback devices, he thinks it works. the sound bar changes when I play something but no sound.

It is intel audio device (WDM) OSH if this is useful.

you have any ideas how I can fix these problems?

    Thank you

Go to Device Manager > view > show hidden devices. If you have other devices > IWD Aud-Device_6, uninstall it. Then restart your system. Go to Acer supports downloads of drivers for your model. Download Realtek Audio Platform Installer from pilots and quick access. Install Reltek and then restart the system. Install quick access, then restart. Finally install the drivers for the platform. Restart and you should have sound.

  • can I update an installation clean windows xp home sp1 to the latest specifications of MS

    Hi all

I have a laptop Acer Aspire 1672 old, but hey, its operating system is windows xp home edition and it is to the last MS specification, because it became very crowded at the time I want to do a clean install of a disc I have, not the original repair disk acer, the disc that I would use is the Service Pack 1 of windows xp edition oem family I have the key and it's a legitimate disc that I used on one another, now defunct, the laptop. Once installed I was able to download all the service packs and updates to MS to make save spec? Or is it possible to create from my laptop, a disk where I could do a clean install without losing updates, I've already installed?

    Best regards

    Terry B

Have a look here. If you have a recovery partition, you can set it to factory settings. Unfortunately, you will need to update the * out of it thereafter. http://www.pctechbytes.com/Acer/Acer-Aspire-system-recovery-partition/ I hope this helps.

  • Aspire 5742z-4685 clean windows 7 install

The hard drive on my 5742z have completely failed. I couldn't recover using the recovery discs because they could not access the hard disk. Finally, my only recourse was to buy an OEM version of windows 7 Home premium, to remove the old drive of garbage and install a new samsung 256Go SSB 840Pro. Everything works fine with the new clean install except the dedicated keys on the keyboard do not work (example: Fn - F3 that allows WiFi). I guess that's because none of the original acer software is present. Is there a way I can always activate the dedicated keys? Would it not be possible to use the original for recovery disks do without delousing of my new installation of windows 7?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
