Cleared task status

Hello:

I use DAQmxClearTask to delete a specific task.

Is there a way to know that a task has been authorized already uses library of NOR-DAQmx features?

Thank you

-Ilya.

I think that any operation on a cleared task would result in an error. So just do something like reading a property node and check the error code.

    When you run the executable file on the other computer, that's when you get this error?  You have the same exact versions of DAQmx and LabVIEW on both computers?  Is the dialog box allow you to navigate to the clear task.vi DAQmx?  If so, you can find these screws in C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\vi.lib\DAQmx\configure\task.llb.  The executable runs on the development computer (the machine, it was compiled on)?

  • NIDAQmx: Check task status

    Hello

    is there a way to check the status of a job is currently in? (I just need to differentiate started and not started).

    In my application, I want to create a task, and then a future order it will start if it is not already.

    Thank you!

    -Cristina.

    There is a task property node but the only state information you can get out are whether or not it is done running, but there is also a VI that does this for you (is Done.vi).

    You could also try to start the task running, and if it is already that you receive an error that you can use to identify the task is already running.  You can then clear the error with the clear Errors.vi so it does not disturb the rest of your code.

  • Analogue out after clearing the task

    Hello

    a quick question on AUG. I have create a task, write the analog voltage appropriate to the line, can stop the task and finally clear, task.

    After all, the level of tension on the material NOR rest on the exit. Is this normal? The question is: is this a normal behavior and I use the OD of this way, or the task takes to run/oper?

    concerning

    Mitulatbati

    Yes, it's normal. "" You can change the output to 0 or use the Reset DAQmx VI (which will change the output to 0) located in the measure i/o "NOR-DAQmx" Dev Config pallet on the block diagram before you quit the application.

  • Clear any open task daqmx

    Hello

    I was going crazy, because all of a sudden a tasks analog output did not work any more he said it conflicted with another task "always active"... I searched my entire application. Could not find anything. So finally, I closed the application labview together, and then it worked again, as if by magic. I came to the conclusion, that my stop and and clear task was not called when I closed my program in a different way.

    So my question: is there a possibility to see what daamx tasks are active when you start your program, so that you could erase any existing task?

    Kind regards
    Thijs

    Better yet, DAQmx tasks really need to be created once, preferably during development and no runtime if you can avoid it at all the.  Presist them to the project (if you are deploying in a debug environment) or, for MAX, if you deploy a exe.  It also allows your tasks be available for troubleshooting and integration, or even a FPS "Engineering" for the station.  I don't remember the last time I've delivered a solution the DAQmx encluded create Task.vi.

    Its pretty easy to write yourself a little utility to give up and cancel all tasks DAQmx.

  • Status of the task put TaskInfo

    Hello

    I tried to get the task status of ApplyStorageDrsRecommendation_Task today and had no luck. I just get 'pending' once again the task completed. To test this part more I wrote some code in c# to turn on the virtual machine, wait and then check the status. Anyone can fix the where I'm going wrong by using TaskInfo with the provided managed object reference.

    name of the VM to power on
    String VMname = 'testvm ';
    Find the MoRef for the virtual machine
    NameValueCollection searchVMCol = new NameValueCollection();
    searchVMCol.Add ("name", VMname);
    EntityViewBase tempMoRefID = vClient.FindEntityView (typeof (VirtualMachine), vClient.ServiceContent.RootFolder, searchVMCol, null);
    VirtualMachine VM = new VirtualMachine (vClient, tempMoRefID.MoRef);
    Turn on the virtual machine
    ManagedObjectReference PowerON_Task_MoRef is VM. PowerOnVM_Task (null);
    Response.Write ("Power on the task:" + PowerON_Task_MoRef + "< BR >");
    Thread.Sleep (4000);
    TaskInfo TaskInfoObj = new TaskInfo();
    TaskInfoObj.Task = PowerON_Task_MoRef;
    Response.Write ("< BR >" + TaskInfoObj.State);

    Thank you

    David

    The problem is the following code:

    TaskInfo TaskInfoObj = new TaskInfo();

    TaskInfo is the type of a property defined with the managed the task object. With the ManagedObjectReference of a task, you must use PropertyCollector to get its property. The TaskInfo isn't supposed to be 'new' ed. If you use open source VI Java API, you Task object and call:

    TaskInfo ti = task.getInfo ();

    In order to clarify the concept, see: http://www.doublecloud.org/2011/06/managedobjectreference-vs-managedobject/

  • Close task DAQmx freezes

    Hi all

    I've been struggling for some time with the following problem, no relevant answers to it. Maybe someone here have met it before.

    I wrote a program in 2011 Labview data acquisition, using daqmx 9.3 + acquires data from a card NI 6008. The program works very well at all works with my laptop, but crashes during like every third performance on another laptop. Both have win7, the other is 64-bit (I'm not sure that matters).

    The program itself is quite complicated, so here I PASE a image of one of the parts he tends to freeze at (there are many other acquisition tasks, where it delimits to freeze, but every time that the structure of the block diagram is basically the same, with the creation and closing of the task). It is freezing more often when there is continuous sampling frequency of 1000 Hz and simultaneous treatment (trace, fft, etc.), in a regime of producer/consumer. The interesting thing is that it does not ALWAYS freeze.

    Whenever I check if the program hangs at the TASK.vi STOP without sending an error message. I can produce the same error with the simple example, I have insert below, if I run the program several times (it takes 10-20 tracks of stick to stop task.vi)

    Please, send any suggestions on what could be the problem.
    Another tip is the MAX itself gives an error of "embedded memory overflow", several times at startup. However, I tried the solution with the property node - without success.

    Dear Buadam,

    The workaround you mentioned has been implemented in NOR-DAQmx 9.4 and should be available from this version. The default value of value certainly not 1, since that would limit USB flow considerably, especially on faster devices.

    To explain more in detail: this property ("Analog Input" General Properties"Advanced" transfer of data and memory"County transfer USB) is responsible for defining the size of a USB transfer burst. The default USB transfer size is 32 KB. For a very fast channel or high County applications increases the size of USB transfer request are likely to increase flow. In this case however, we are voluntarily reducing the size of the transfer, to be absolutely sure that the bug in Windows 7 (how the system handles applicants on USB 2.0, specifically, how the packages are split) does affect us, resulting in deadlock as you packages known. So the idea here is to small enough packages to ensure that the USB driver is unable to divide, this prevents in turn also USB performance, but since the 6008 is a relatively slow, low peripheral County channel, we always have more than enough bandwidth.

    So, to summarize:

    • Please update on DAQmx 9.4 or more if you can (LabVIEW 2011 is supported up to the most recent, version 9.8)

    • I also recommend to upgrade the USB drivers from the laptop from the website of the provider as appropriate.

    • Set the AI. UsbXferReqSize to 1 once available. If you don't find it, try right-clicking on the property node, select filter... > display all attributes

    crossrulz: you have effectively reason that a finite measure stops the task once all samples have been read, so a wait until I recommended is redundant here, as it is expected to return with fact = True. The reasons why I suggested to use are:

    1. To refresh the status of the task, "check" that he has been arrested properly.

    2. To give the device of the extra time before the command stop the task/Clear task is sent.

    3. To catch errors that are stored in the DAQmx object, but not covered by the read operation, before attempting to stop/clear.

    Hope is makes sense.

    Kind regards:

  • Two tasks that share the same resource in sequence

    I'm the current exception "the specified resource is reserved.". I understand that you can not run two tasks that share the same resource at the same time. However, is it true that you can not run two tasks that share the same resource, one right after the other, without the eliminate completely from the first task?

    for example

    Task1 and task2 share the same resource
    Task1. Start();
    Task1. Stop();
    Task2. Start(); This will always throw an exception until you have a task1 (i.e. task1.) Dispose()?
    Task2. Stop();

    Hi cafarm,

    You're right, the fact to just stop at one task does not allow that run you another task with the same resources immediately after. That being said, you can start the next task without having to erase or dispose of the first by making use of the task status template DAQmx. As you can see on the next page, stop a task simply going to the State of "Clerks", which means that the material is still used by the task even if she does not actively.

    http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/370466AC-01/mxcncpts/taskstatemodel/

    Instead, you can use the control functionality of task for the first task of transition to the status "verified" after stopping it, then start the second task. This keeps the parameters of the task without having to have the task, but it should free up resources to be used by other tasks.

  • Explanation to Pause a task

    Hello guys,.

    Ich have a little problem to understand what happens when I stop a task.

    A little explanation of my program:

    I generate a signal over time. This means that I give the program of the amplitude, frequency and time how long signal must be performed (for example 10 minutes).

    In order to have a better time of calculation, I do the following. I initially generate a first sequence und write it in the buffer (quantity defined samples). Then I start the task.

    So now the samples is transferred from the buffer to the device. I wrote a callback function (int32 CVICALLBACK OnEveryNSamplesEvent (TaskHandle taskHandle, int32 everyNsamplesEventType, uInt32 nSamples, void * callbackData)) which generates the following pattern when the first batch set of samples are transferred to the device. This has the advantage that I can't calculate a very large table at the beginning of the program instead I calculate every time a part of it at the same time when the buffer is written to the device.

    Then and now to my question.
    I don't know what happens when I break the task (DAQmxStopTask (taskHandle)
    I tried and it has the function, I would have but is there the risk that my buffer can cause an overflow? Is the set of the program as the calculation in the background stand still when I break the task?

    (My theory is that, with DAQmxStartTask (taskHandle), I'm starting to transfer the samples of the buffer in the device. When I stop the task he doesn't transfer the samples more and then the calcualtion in the background also still stands)

    Hope someone can give me the right solution to the problem.

    Best regards

    Hello Fasching_K,

    What is the difference between the DAQmx stop VI and VI DAQmx of the clear task task?

    It is interesting here

    When you perform operations of analog output, you must write a buffer of data to the FIFO output before the intervention. Indeed, this will move the task to a State of 'reserved', before calling the DAQmx start task VI (who puts in the 'race'). When the task VI DAQmx Stop is called, it puts the State of the "race" to the "reserved", so any attempt to start the task with different values generates an error.

    In your case, you have stopped the task with this one stop also not write values in the buffer, so normally no overflow would take place.

  • compensation tasks automatically at the start of the program

    When you run a LabVIEW program, periodically, the program stops in the Middle, and the function of the clear task was not able to run.  Of course, by operating the next LabVIEW program, I get an error.  Is there a way to delete all tasks on a data acquisition or MAY at the beginning of a LabVIEW program to ensure that the program you are using does not work in a problem since the previous task has not been cleared properly?  I was expecting just a drop of water in my program.  Any help would be appreciated!
