Clicks of the mouse is not always effective

Today, whenever I enter a mouse click, there seems to be about 1 to 3 chances that it comes into force.  Sometimes it works the first time (as expected), others that it takes about 5 goes, it seems to have an impact on all the programs that I use IE, Word and others not of Microsoft.

I tried to restart, but this problem often having to click the mouse several times before taking seems to be persistent.

Any thoughts welcome...

-Graeme

If this is a wired mouse, try a different mouse.  If it's a wireless mouse try batteries first, and then another smile.

    Hello

I bought this laptop 5 weeks ago and now have problems with the right, click on the mouse does not work. Left click sometimes opens to the left, click on functions and leaves me is impossible to close programs or closed, double clicking in the pavement or enter does not work also.

I tried to do a system restore to the factory, but I can not click on the next to take me through the restoration and end up having to close it via the main power switch.

    Any ideas please?

    Hello

You have the same problems with a mouse external or just the touchpad?

If an external mouse works correctly, you can use it to do a recovery install. This can help you to solve the problem, if this just s software.

Not least have last but you tried to update the driver for the touchpad? You can find it on the official website of Toshiba:

    Hello

You can view the configuration in the Control Panel, mouse.

However, if the rest of the mouse does not work, it is probably time for a new mouse. For example, right-click switch does no more work.

    Thanks in advance.

I got disabling the system restore, so I can't go back to a good version.

Turn off the system restore makes things much more difficult. Your problem is probably due to an inappropriate registry setting. You can restore your registry files manually to a previous point through the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. You may reset your password to an earlier value.

Check the date of the file C:\Windows\System32\config\regback\System. It precedes the date when you became aware of your problem? If so, follow these steps:

    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.

    2. Select repair in the menu that looks like this.

3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.

    4. Select repair when prompted.

    5. Select the command line in the menu that looks like this.

    6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
    DIR C:\Win*
    Dir D:\Win*
    dir E:\Win*
until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands exactly:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
    xcopy *. * Q:\MyRegBack\
    CD RegBack
    8 type these commands:
    copy software / y...
    /y copy system...
    /y copy Sam...
(the two points are part of each order)
    10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\MyRegBack to Q:\Windows\System32\config.

  • Clicks of the mouse do not work in IE9, Excel, iTunes and other programs.

Clicks of the mouse are not working.  IE9, Excel, I-tunes and a few other programs.  It sometimes takes several mouse clicks, or in the case of IE9 when you activate the address bar or Favorites or even try to select a checkbox it seems that you must hold the button of the mouse down and after a few seconds, it will recognize the command.  With favorite IE9 you must hold down the mouse button and drag down to the place wherever you need to be communicated, then click on?  In Exel, the mouse cannot select multiple cells, in other programs her taking mulitple mouse clicks to highlight & copy text in the text example I've copied below from Microsoft answer Forum - I followed the instructions below and it did find and fix some problems, but there were others, he could not correct?  They were listed in another file, but I don't remember the name of the file, or how to access it?  I have run Norton 360 on my system and a complete analysis will detect all viruses?  Please advise?

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers forums. I suggest that you run the System File Checker. To use the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker. To do this, follow these steps:

Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To do that click on start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and make it regular periodic updates.

  • Click of the mouse does not

I recently bought a computer laptop sony vaio E15136 nine. The mouse was used to work much earlier, but now, the click of the mouse does not work in some parts of the screen. And the problem is not specific program. The click of the mouse does not work in this part of the screen for all programs. It does not in the upper left corner of the screen. He has no problem moving the cursor in this part, only clicking.

    aiyazkhan:

Strange.  Have you tried a mouse USB or WiFi?  The same thing happens?  Also, have you tried to uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall the driver from the touchpad on the site of support for your model: http://www.sony.co.in/support/product/SVE15136CN

Please install all software updates/patches, then reboot and recheck the touchpad function.

  • Firefox 8.0.1 - right click of the mouse does not work and the menus at the top are not working. They sparkle and sometimes remain visible, but most of the time they cannot be seen.

When I right click of the mouse on a link of the menu sparkles and especially is not visible. When I select the top menu bar, the menu selections twinkle and especially are not visible. It makes the browser unusable. This is a serious bug.

  • Clicks of the mouse does not

My problem is that my mouse stops working after a few minutes in a certain way. Usually, the main program that I will be ok, but I can't click anything on the bar in the toolbar at the bottom. Even if I move my pointer over the icons on the taskbar, labels will not come to the top and if I click on it nothing happens. If I reduce the program I'm working on, if I then click on the sound icon the the bottom bar, it will not return. Very often I also can't click on other items on the desktop either.

To get out of this loop, I make Ctrl + Alt + Delete. When the screen comes up and I click on Task Manager, there is always a delay between clicking on it and openness. This delay is sometimes several seconds.

It takes a few minutes for this effect to kick. He also got to the point where the screen saver will not illuminate after time has passed and now sometimes the program that I am working on lock, particularly when starting it.

    It started yesterday.

I did a system restore, by choosing a point at the beginning of the month. It did not help so I came home settings. My antivirus software is up-to-date and the analyses showed no infection. Anti-spyware programs have also developed own.

  • Click on the mouse does not work

I'm on an iMac ca 2008 and the mouse cursor moves on the screen, but clicking on does not work. No action in any application. Will not open files, no command is executed. Initially, it was casual, but happened to be the worst, now it is complete, start at the stop. At the start (in El Capitan), the mouse moves the cursor, but there is no answer to the click. I went through the first aid standard attempts-trash finder prefs, reset the NVRAM, reset the SMC - no change.  Elsewhere in the forums, the problem is attributed to the El Capitan, or if no GPU. BIOS problem? It seems to be a hardware problem, but I'm no judge of that. Any suggestions?

It can be hardware junk... Perform a recovery with a recovery disk procedure to make sure that is not os/driver associated. Otherwise, contact the service centre in your country, it will fix it for free under warranty
