Client VMWare Horizon on El Capitan

MacBook Pro 15 ", mid-2015, retina 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD

OS X Version of El Capitan 10.11.2

I use the Client VMWare Horizon (version 3.5.2) to connect to business desktops VDI.  I have a number of questions.

-VDI desktop consumes all connected screens, either 1, 2 or 3 screens.  I find no way to assign the VDI Office to a single workspace or monitor.  I use the Macbook screen, a connected HDMI monitor and a connected via a bolt of lightning to the DVI adapter.

-The customer seems to disconnect when the Macbook goes to sleep.  But it is not always log out properly.  More than once I have been unable to restart the desktop computer without the intervention of my sys admin

Finally, and this isn't a VDI issue per se, when I connect my Macbook to the company via Ethernet or wireless network, I'm just flat impossible to print only printers on the network of the company.  The Mac is not joined to the domain, is unable to see all printers, and I roll the printer add by hand.  I am able to define a printer by IP address or FULL domain name, but all attempts always results in the printer print code Postscript and not the print job.  This is the enterprise-class printers Ricoh.

Any help would be appreciated in any of these questions.  Thank you.

I found the New Horizon customers are less than optimal.  I returned back all the way to the customer display, as a preference, because it seems to stay connected more, better and with less issues, plus the customer of the Horizon. Currently using the client to view v1.6... Fortunately.

Printers - I put all my users up on top of the basic intellectual property. Very few questions.  Users/Macs are members of a domain and are associated with the hard cable, but do not use the MS Print servers. In one or two cases, I used Hello for some high-end HP or printers Ricoh.

  • VMware Horizon 3.3.0 - slow when it is launched from a machine virtual (WS2008 R2) - all solutions?

    Hi guys,.

We have an installer of VMware Horizon which works fine when accessed from our laptops.

However, for several reasons, we also this environment accessible from a Windows Server 2008 R2 computer that resides in a virtual machine on a hypervisor.

But the problem is that it is very very slow at the launch like this (you can feel the delay in cursor of mouse or when you open a window on the machine of Vmware View published). I want to clarify that the connection to the client VM (WS2008R2) is made through RDP.

The questions that I have since I'm not able to find out so far are:

    (1) is x 86-64 catches WS2008R2 supported as a client? A Client of Horizon install VMware on it different in any way on a Windows 7 computer?

    (2) is the fact that he is virtualized to the cause of the slowness? If so, why is that and can do something about it?

Thank you very much, I really appreciate your help.

    Jay.

    OK, he solved it myself

It seems to the "Control Panel > mouse Options > pointers > scheme ' the 'Windows - Aero system' has been selected. The second I put it to zero, the cursor of the mouse began to behave and he moves normally.

  • All VMware Horizon workspace

Hi, I have two questions about VMware Horizon Workspace.

I know, workspace can use the web application, but can someone tell me it's just like what type of application?

Another issue is that if I use the thin app, applications can be used in any device, when I use workspace?

For web applications, workspace can support applications that support SAML for authentication, such as Google Apps, Sales Force, Webex etc

ThinApps are designed to run only on windows desktop computers. They will not run on any device

  • vmWare Horizon Workspace - change port number

    Hi guys,.

I installed the workspace vmware horizon as a proof of concept, everything works fine. I'm now doing the public gateway. The problem which is the port number (443) that uses the bridge can be put on the public because he is facing some of our other things. I wonder since everything is installed and working properly, what would be the proper way to change the GATEWAY port number?

    Thank you

Unfortunately, in 1.0, we do not allow change the port number.

Will you be able to move to 1.5? Then, allow us to change the COMPLETE domain name and port.

  • questions to the vmware horizon workspace

    Hi guys

I implemented the vmware horizon workspace in my test environment. It works very well. but now I have two questions:

    1. is it possible to add storage smb from a windows file server to the device of data? I would like to automatically synchronize the directory on the file server windows with vmware view on appliance workspace data. and for all the users in my domain. (so I think that the vmware agent horizon is not the right tool for this action)

    2. is it possible to implement authentication twolayer? I use two layers for vmware view horizon in this workshop, but I can't find any documentation or the button for twolayer auth in the vmware horizon workspace

Thank you much for the help

    Kind regards

    Hello..

I'm glad you like what you see so far...

I came across this site: http://www.virtuallyghetto.com/2015/02/how-to-customize-the-new-vsphere-6-0-web-client-login-ui.html you may be able to use the same concept with the files of the web portal.

Here are a few files that seem to be toward the top of the portal page: C:\Program VMware View\Server\broker\webapps\portal

You could probably modify these files to suit your business needs. But of course, this would not be a change in support.

I can connect correctly internally without going through the Security Server or if you use the Client from the view when you use the Security server.

So it must be just a matter of open ports on the hardware firewall (Cisco ASA 5510) for me. But I tried to open the tcp 8443 port and 22433 on Cisco ASA, but still get the same error code.

Firewall Windows Server security and the connection to the Server VMware View Blast are enabled and set to allowed on incoming ports.

Anyone successfully deployed these access HTML behind the Cisco firewall?

Do you mind sharing your configuration?

    Too bad.

There was a typo in the Q & A blog.

You will need to open port tcp 22443 and not 22433.

  • Certificate expired on a server that has only the client VMware and VMware workstation

Our scanners detected security certificate expired vmware on a server. The only products currently running on this server are VMware workstation and the vSphere client. I looked in all the installed certificates and their lack of vmware. When I open a web browser and go to the IP address of servers using port 443 I get a message of invalid certificate and look a certificate it shows expired recently, and was published by VMware. Where can I find this certificate and what is used to indicated the products installed on this system?

The certificate was for workstation server configurations (connection sharing VMs/Remote). Just disabled the sharing feature because it is not used.

Find the certificate in the program data-file VMware. Could not find information on renewal, only how to replace it.

  • Installation of the Client VMware Update Manager 6.0 not in the installation menu

I played a bit with a VMware 6.0 default installation and everything has been installed. After I finished I could not find a way to configure the Update Manager. It was available in the webclient service, but still there is no way (AFAIK) to go to "Admin View" here.

So I installed the client vSphere 6.0 via the menu autorun and worked well. I found a few screenshots to another installation of VUM and there was a separate button "VUM Client" installation in the automatic menu which I did not.

After reviewing the DVD, I found the Setup file Z:\updateManager\VMware-UpdateManager.msi, after installing it the VUM Client is available.

    I used VMware-VIMSetup-all - 6.0.0 - 2562643.ISO as an installation source.

It is normal to do it like that or if the option "VUM customer" is somehow forgotten in the automatic menu? I wonder if you guys probably noticed the same thing.

  • Client VMWare not found Windows 7 5.1 software

Here, I am a bit puzzled. I just installed VMWare vSphere Client 5.1 on my Windows 7 computer. He shows up as installed in my control panel from the installed programs list. However, when I click on VSphere Client under VMWare in programs I load the 4.1 client who was always there.

I checked the office, I checked the VMWare folder in the programs, but I'll be undermined if I can find the program. Does anyone know where the executable is for the client 5.1? I looked in the folder programs (x 86) and found a record 5.1 but the Launcher isn't here.

    That's what I installed - VMware-viclient-all - 5.1.0 - 1064113.exe

It seems that if the 4.1 client is installed the client 5.1 some is prevented from working. Should I uninstall the 4.1 client? There is no option to upgrade during the installation of the client.

    Thanks much for any help.

    Mike Gallery

What is loaded when you start the vSphere Client is only the Launcher, which looks the same for the different versions. Once you connect to a host ESXi and vCenter Server, the Launcher will follow the appropriate vSphere Client. The binaries are located in a subdirectory with the version number of the client.

  • Client VMware View Android: how hide the status bar at the top

    Hi all

I'm testing the VMware View Client for Android. A question that bothers me is the status bar I am displayed at the top of the screen. I mean the bar that displays the Logo of VMware View and several icons for the control settings.

Is possible to hide this bar? I have not found a switch in settings or in the official manual. The thing is: I think that it should be possible somehow, as a video YouTube of VMware shows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85uJqkn-UV4

I'll be grateful for any comments...
