Client VMware View Horizon and high DPI screens

Hello

I wonder if anyone has a solution for getting the customer view play nice with high DPI screens like those with screen resolution 3200 x 1800, or Apple 2880 x 1800 on the retina of Macbook 15 "screen resolution. View client does not seem to evolve properly, and the only solution seems to be to change the desktop screen resolution and then connecting display. I don't think that it is a very graceful difficulty, and my users are not too happy about it either.

Thank you

Ryan

Hello

Horizon customer 3.4 has experimental support for higher resolutions. It worked just great for me!

    Hello

I'm going to show a customer what Horizon of VMWare View. They currently use an ESXi host 5.5 with vCenter evaluation license. Is it possible to use the view with vCenter assessment? The reason I ask is that I get the following error: "Error vCenter entry."

    Thank you

Which version to use for your vmware view? I guess you try to add vcenter in sight and you get the error message. You must add using domain\admin account.

Also check that you have the necessary permissions.

  • VMware VDI vs VMware View Horizon?

    Hi all

This should be easy for you, the gurus of VMware

I have a requirement to expand a network of a single
location central out for a large company and I am looking to use Thin
Customers in the new corporate reach in a VMware VDI environment offices
in the center of data centralized where we already have a full blown 5 of Vsphere
    environment for our servers.

I was originally looking for VMware VDI via VDA (http://download3.vmware.com/demos/vdi/)
and was sold on the idea that it would be a good choice given the WAN
traffic to the Thin Client workstations based on RDP/PCoIP and so
    not particularly heavy.

However since then looked back to VMWare View and this
seeks to do the same thing that the VDI put in place and seems to have much more
    information about this.

I first thought that VMware View Horizon set caching of desktop
locally (as for a profile of the end user on the WAN) has no sound
too good to the traffic congestion, etc. so I rejected directly at the exit!

Can someone tell me if the VDI via the VDA solution has been replaced
VMware View Horizon? And if so point me a definitive guide for VMware View

    Thanks in advance

    David

The link in your feed was on VDM 2.0 which was the first iteration of VMware VDI market.    The most recent is VMware view Horizon which can be found here, Horizon of VMware View (formerly VMware View) (VDI) Virtual Desktop Manager | United States of America.     There is a lot of information on this page that you can see and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to post them in this forum.

  • Completely remove sdconf.rec connection server VMware view Horizon 6

    Greetings,

I want to completely remove the sdconf.rec file downloaded from my connection to the server VMWare View Horizon 6.0.1. In previous versions, it was that I had to delete the Sdconf.Rec of C:\Windows\System32 and set the attribute to EAP-SecureIDConf under CN = < servername >, OU = server, OU = propriΘtΘs, DC = vdi, DC = VMWare, DC = int '0' but this attribute does not exist in version 6!

Just deleting the Sdconf.REC file does not work, after doing that (even after a reboot) it always says "a Sdconf.REC file has been downloaded" when I check the settings of the connection to the server.

Does anyone know how to delete this file in version 6? I'm this close just removed the server connection and security together and do a complete reinstall.

    Thanks in advance!

Haha, Yes, it seems I was typing the variable wrong, changing the attribute now works, but I still see "an sdconf.rec file is already downloaded" even after change to the attribute and remove the sdconf.rec file in system32, even after a reboot of the connection to the server.

This should be OK. What you did is invalidated the sdconf.rec file. It probably will always exist, but watch to see if it has been invalidated. that is, it should now be much smaller than your original and so not usable, which I think is what you wanted to achieve.

If you want to just disable the RSA SecurID authentication, which can be made in view administrator.

    Please confirm.

  • VMware stuck Horizon and a long boot

After a weekly update, the virtual machine in VMware View Horizon shows the status of 'Start-up' and won't allow no one to start on the machine, unless I have manually reset their machine. He has recently started to happen, there is no error message, it hangs just at the start. At other times, vm may take 10 minutes or more a long time to start. What would cause these issues? It is a 64-bit Windows 7 computer and no changes have been made.

Update on the testing and very long webex with VMware - it turns out that the NTP setting on an esx host did not work - don't know how we missed. Once started, the time ends up synchronized (he was out of 10 min.). I am current test to check, but confident that the problem is resolved.

  • Client VMware View Android: how hide the status bar at the top

    Hi all

I'm testing the VMware View Client for Android. A question that bothers me is the status bar I am displayed at the top of the screen. I mean the bar that displays the Logo of VMware View and several icons for the control settings.

Is possible to hide this bar? I have not found a switch in settings or in the official manual. The thing is: I think that it should be possible somehow, as a video YouTube of VMware shows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85uJqkn-UV4

I'll be grateful for any comments...

After upgrading the client to view to the last version(>2.0), he supports the mode full screen. You can activate it via clicking on the button full screen in the menu of the dock bar.

  • Without client VMware View

Setting up a server of security for our Organization.  Initially, I was happy because I imagined that most of our users could potentially connect to our farm from view with no client installation needed and simply make use of the RDP in Windows client.  However, it quickly became obvious that the VMware View Client must be on the system before connecting.  If the view Client simply uses RDP to connect to the farm from the view in any case, why should a download client?  It would be a huge advantage over Citrix, if it was made possible.

You can have your users go to the web address of the server your connection and you connect this way. It automatically installs the client. If it works for you?

    I want to give my

old computers to run View 4 client only. After that, it started, it will work

View the customer in mode full screen and ask the user, like a normal computer for the user logon.

Users should not make a difference while using the virtual office. How

    VMware.

    Thank you

If you look at this guide, it tells you how to set the customer view as a replacement shell to explore, so the only thing that the machine starts is the customer of the view. With the appropriate switch, you can have the user login and go directly to their office right.

  • How to query the Version of the Client to view Horizon

    Visibility:     Open to anyone

    Hello.

I have a VDI, great about 1000 + virtual desktops. Most of these users are remote (Overseas) and I have NO control over their host systems. However, I like to keep users on the same version of View customer Horizon. Is there a way to check the version of the virtual machine or VCenter via the script? This way I could determine who to reach in order to request they update the customer in their host.

    Thank you.

  • vROPS Horizon and high processor WmiPrvSE.exe Office Agent

We lack v6.1.0 Agent of skyline view that has the Operations Manager of vRealize built in agent.  With the operation of the service "VMware vRealize Agent of Horizon Operations Office", we find that 4-10% CPU usage (our VDI sessions are two of vCPU) of WmiPrvSE.exe.  Using the process monitor the process constantly trying to access the C:\Windows\System32\tzres.dll file which seems to cover the Windows time zone setting.  When the service is disabled as Wmiprvse.exe disappears and CPU goes back down.  Anyone has any ideas on what the heck is going on?  It's much too broad for a monitoring tool and you just want to remove all together.  We had this problem from the beginning (running vROPS 6 within our environment 5.3 view before the upgrade).

    Thank you

    Travis

Just a quick update... we have disabled the service vRealize and the CPU has dropped down.  We had trouble finding the value of the product anyway so we have stopped using it.

  • View 6: Blast gateway Gateway stopped, VMware view Horizon Blast Gateway Service lasted less than 1500 milliseconds

An interesting error popping up on a view greenfield 6.0 installation, was curious to know if anyone has come across this. It's on the Security Server, the breath gateway server service is suspended and will not start. In Event Viewer, I see circling them following in the Event Viewer error. We checked for if make sure that the certificate was friendly named appropriately vdm, but it looks not to the service will not start after reboot or reinstall. Will post more detailed logs if you ask inquiring minds.

Hey Mike, thanks for the reply. Just got word back (it was actually a peer of mine) it ends up being a problem with the certificate, they import the pfx with the private key. Logical since he said it worked until it has updated the cert.

I was wondering if it's something big or something right in the House.  When the wired or without wireless on Windows 8 and 8.1 (laptops / tablets), using the client to view Horizon 2.3.3 I get hesitation to scroll in Outlook 2010 and Excel more large spreadsheets, that I don't see on my Windows 7 machines using the same client.  Anyone else noticed this or fix?

    Thanks for the tips...

I know it's a bit old, but found the fix for our windows users tablet 8.1.   On the client itself, we have removed the cache of the client completely do the following steps:

Create a new file as below.

    C:\Users\vditest\AppData\Local\Teradici\pcoip_client_settings.txt

    and write this line in.
