Clones do not reproduce in the pool.

After building a no-mahmoud80 pool using linked clones, clones stop building runs the specified number. I have the numbers for the provision of this facility.

Number of workstations (minimal) 10

Number of workstations (maximum) 60

Number of desktop computers 10 (available)

It will create the orginal of 10 desktops with the exception of #1 and #6. Once the connection to a desktop user, it does not create a new to be ready. I get the following error message:

  • Clone is note to clone...

Hi, I'm looking for a little advice.  We turned a Citrix server pilot like aVM for a few weeks now and would like to replace our VM Citrix version existing, older servers.  We'll have some downtime this weekend for the job, but I'm working on the most time efficient way to create images of our master Citrix server.  We have a limited amount of space on our data store, so for each new Server Citrix, we want to add, we will need to remove one of the elders, that is not a problem.  We anticipate running the cloning process from one day to the next so that when we come to the end of week, the clones will be ready to be powered and modified to suit.  However, what is the best way for us to go about creating this 6 clones?  I understand that it is best to use when you want to create multiple images at a time of "clone model".  Are we better use "clone model" on the master, creating a model with which we can create 5 of our 6 images (with the model chewing space that we would need to grade 6), and then, when these images have been created, remove the template and make a direct clone of the master for our 6th server, or should simply clone us the master one at a time?  Am I correct in thinking this clone jobs get queued, so that we can run through the wizard several times, but the clones does not start until the end of the process of clone in front in the queue?

In short, how much difference, LeRiz, is there between create several images of a model and queues just clone processes?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I think that from a model, you can start cloning one at a time.

You can do a thing... Make n model cloning create a virtual machine.

Then start cloning a model as well as on the other VM.

Again repeat the samething... Start the cloning model and the VM and your work is done.

  • Set of characters not supported when the use of convert and join

    Take the following tables:
    --------------------------------------------------------
    --  DDL for Table TEST_ASSOCIATION
    --------------------------------------------------------

      CREATE TABLE "TEST_ASSOCIATION"
       (     "PARENT_ID" VARCHAR2(20 BYTE),
         "CHILD_ID" VARCHAR2(20 BYTE)
       ) ;

    --  DDL for Table TEST_OBJECT
    --------------------------------------------------------

      CREATE TABLE "TEST_OBJECT"
       (     "ID" NUMBER,
         "NAME" VARCHAR2(20 BYTE)
       ) ;
    Now this query works perfectly:
    select * from test_object t_o
    where convert(t_o.name, 'US7ASCII') like '%a%'
And it does not (error ORA-01482):
    select * from test_object t_o
    where
    exists (
      select * from test_association t_a
      inner join test_object t_o2
      on t_a.parent_id = t_o2.id
      where t_o2.id = t_o.id
    )
    and convert(t_o.name, 'US7ASCII') like '%a%'
I suspect that the inner query corrupts the CONVERT function, which makes it fail.

  • Send-LinkedCloneRecompose is not updated to the Image on the pool name

    Hi all

Using the command "Send LinkedCloneRecompose", everything seems to work properly:

    • The PS command indicates that the workstations will recompose (watch, unchanged VMs: 0).
    • The pool has a task to reconstruct for all desktop computers.
    • Pool tasks window shows that the action recompose for the correct snapshot.
    • A new replica is created in vSphere.
    • Desktop computers are recomposed OK.

    Get-pool-Pool_id "$poolID" | Get-DesktopVM | Send-LinkedCloneRecompose - ParentVMPath "$parentPath" - ParentSnapshotPath "newSnapPath" - annex ((Get-Date).) AddMinutes (1)) - forceLogoff $false - stopOnError $true

    Problem:

    • Check information pool in view administrator, the name of "The Image" shows again the old cliché– it is obviously incorrect. This would normally change to the new name of snapshot if the operation recompose is performed from within the Administrator display.
    • Using Powershell to query pool information, the same details appear - the old name of the snapshot is written.

      > Get-pool-Pool_id "$poolID".

      >...

      > parentVMSnapshotPath: * original old cliché way *.

      >...

So, is this a bug? Can it be reproduced, or - is this a problem that I am experiencing?

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

Using LinkedCloneRecompose-sending does not update the configuration of the pool - it reconstructs only the virtual machines to the specified image.

You must use the command Update-AutomaticLinkedClonePool, use it as below only would change the parent VM and snapshot leaving all other pool settings as they are.

Run presents first, and then use the send-LinkedCloneRecompose to rebuild the VMs system to the last image.

    Update-AutomaticLinkedClonePool-pool_id «$poolID' - '$parentPath' parentVMPath - parentSnapshotpath «newSnapPath»

    Get-pool-Pool_id "$poolID" | Get-DesktopVM | Send-LinkedCloneRecompose - ParentVMPath "$parentPath" - ParentSnapshotPath "newSnapPath" - annex ((Get-Date).) AddMinutes (1)) - forceLogoff $false - stopOnError $true

  • Image change by default do not apply at the office pool View Manager 4

When I try to change a pool of offices to change the default Image, everything seems fine. I chose the snapshot I want to use and apply without any error. However, when I restart the desktop computers in the pool, they are still on the old default Image. I can tell quite easily because that new images flash plugin but the previous does not work. Everything on view eating seems correct, it shows the correct Parent virtual machine and good Image. Is there anything else I need to do?

    Thanks for all the help!

It is the persistence of one or a pool not persistent?

If it is a persistent pool you must also do a recomposition (under the image) to update virtual machines, followed by a reboot, etc.

If there is no persistent pool, just restart desktop does nothing. The new image will only be used on the new computer desk/clones. Need to remove the old desktop computers.

  • Linked clone failed: the operation is not supported on the object

Hi all - I would appreciate help on a related clone operation that is a failure.

I use Quest vWorkspace to create linked clone VM in my environment.  It integrates with virtual Center and creates from a VM snapshot parent according to normal related clones.  It has just stopped working and I am trying to track down the cause.  The task fails with the error message in the console of VMware vCenter: the operation is not supported on the object.

The vCentre is 5.5 and esxi.  vWorkspace is v8.0 MR1.  The parent VM is located on an iSCSI datastore.  I tried to put the clones of destination on premises and warehouses of NFS data with the same result.  Unfortunately I can't (don't want really to) move the VM parent from the data store that I have of many VM related to this virtual machine.

The failure message is a bit generic, so I looked on through the vmkernel.log and vpxa.log and it is an excerpt from the vpxa.log whereby it shows failed task 153.  Can someone please indicate something in the newspaper that had to be examined or another newspaper to look at?

    vWorkspace attached error and below:

    Additional accessories:

    Hello guys,.

For those of you already on 5.5, I did a few tests these days. I did find a magic bullet yet as a single parameter that is sure to break but I came up with a workaround.

I found that if my ESXi server was still on the 5.1, vWorkspace could deploy clones linked via vCenter 5.5 - it's only when the ESXi is also on 5.5 that you have a problem.

If any of you have ESXi hosts still on 5.1, you can deploy there for now.

In ESXi 5.x, it is easy to have an ESXi virtual machine. You might want to consider creating some virtual boxes ESXi to deploy on while the vworkspace dev team look at why it does not work.

I know that this is not the best solution in the world, but it's better than no work around

    Thank you, Andrew.

  • After using Norton Ghost to clone new HARD drive, get the message «This is not a real Windows 7»

Hi, I used Norton ghost 15 clone my old original (750 GB) to a new HDD (1 TB) hard disk, all seemed well, start in windows 7 from screen, but when he arrived at the office, there was a line saying "this is not a genuine copy of windows 7" and nothing shown on the desktop but a light blue background. I have my Win 7 DVD, but there is no way to indicate to the system on my product key.  I'm stuck on a blue screen.

After seeing another suggestion to use MGAdiag, I created a new boot disk and it linked the diag.  The output is cryptic, so I guess that I have validated only my new installation and there is no obvious way to point to the other disk.  But the output is lower.

the only thing that your report shows is the WAT update is not installed, and it is not enabled. (you are in your grace. initial period to 28 days rest).

  • Thinapps will not deploy to the office pool

    Hello:
We are making a new environment for Horizon see 6.1.1.  Everything seems to work well, with the exception of our Thinapps.  We have our first pool of Fund established (persistent and dedicated).  If I have one of our Thinapps assign to the pool for a full installation, they do not install. I tried a disconnection and connection to make sure and nothing.  I looked in the newspapers and you don't see any errors that may indicate why they are not install.   However, if I give the Thinapps a machine or group of machines, they install fine.  I've seen other posts on this topic but no solutions.  Any ideas what could cause this or what I can check?  Thanks for your help.

After a lot of troubleshooting, we seem to solve the problem by re-installing the Agent of the VM parent view and recompose the pool.  Now, everything seems to work fine.

  • View 6 - Add Server 2008 R2 Desktop to the pool - "VM with OS invited not supported"

    Hello

I need to install a new server connection view because we have improved the vCenter Server 5.5, the view do not allow migration to a new server vCenter Server.

So my plan is to "unplug" all work stations of the old server connection view (if necessary) and add them to the new connection to the server view.

We use computers to desktop to Server 2008 R2, but if I try to add to the inventory view tells me "VM with guest operating system not supported.

How can I add them to the pool / inventory?

  • vCAC 6.0 selected clone - model Action Plan has been updated, now, it does not appear in the vCAC

    Hi all

I have been playing with vCAC 6.0 for quite awhile (now updated vCAC 6.0.1) and have created a plan that will clone with Windows Server R2 model 2012. Comments agent has not been installed because I wanted only to lift the machine up and running with customization specifications created in vCenter.

The plan was working as expected after I created the service, part of the catalogue and clearances. After that, I converted the virtual computer model to update the model with new Windows patches, and then convert back to model. Now when I try to create a new master plan, selected the workflow of clone and search for the model, the model that I've updated does not exist in the list. Curious, too, I went to change the blueprint and attempted to review for the model, and it does not appear on the list more. In fact, I created a model of linux (CentOS) at some point after the installation of the vCAC, and I don't see the list as well.

No idea on what is happening? Newspapers in the Infrastructure tab-> monitoring-> Log was not showing errors, and I tried to restart all the components of vCAC, including a restart of all services on the server of IaaS.

Probably, you have to manually kick off the collection of inventory data on computing resources where the model.

  • Linked clone is not the deletion of the Horizon view administrator

I am trying to remove a linked clone (and pool that linked clone). However, he advised that is the removal of more than 12 hours. I think that the problem is that someone has tried to connect to this virtual machine before fully completing commissioning. The only other VM in the pool view Horizon has deleted without argument. Is there another way to remove this virtual machine?

  • Memory not fully usable in the pool allocation?

    Hello

We have a few "issues" with Org CDV is deployed under the pool allocation model. It is not possible to use the RAM allocated by 100% (or any value close to 100%). When you try to start the virtual machines, we receive an error for the allocation of resources of the vCenter (lack of resources...). It turns out when you look at the list of resources that 'Used a reservation' is greater than the sum of reservation of the virtual machines that is already running.

    Example of

Org vDC has 13 GB of RAM allocated with 20% guarantee = list of resources gets 2662 MB of booking

VM1 is configured with 5 GB RAM = Gets a booking of 1024MB

VM2 is configured with 6 GB of RAM = Gets a booking of 1229 MB

Sum of reserves VM = 2253MB

Customers point of view, it seems that there are always 2 GB available RAM, RP views (calculated) there are still the 409 MB available that are 20% of the 2 GB of RAM. If the client sets up a new virtual machine with 2 GB, tries to start, but it does not work because of insufficient resources.

When you look at the list of resources in detail, that it's somehow clearly why it fails. The used reserve is 2521 MB, so only 141 MB are available. It is about 700 MB usable for the customer.

I think it has to do with the charge of the virtual machines, although the General value of resource pools does not explain this difference

This also occurs when you use other percentages of RAM guaranteed.

This behavior is - although somewhat understandable - boring.

To avoid calls to the technical support of customers complain about this issue (in my opinion), there are 2 possibilities

    1. explain the situation/reason for customer and tell them to order more RAM. First of all I don't think that the majority will understand it or worries. And as long as we can't calculate how it takes over is a no go.

    2. Add a buffer to the quantity of RAM. It's what we right now - we add 10%. It works, but customers see that they have more available RAM that they ordered. Integration with billing is too difficult.

Other vCloud Director users are aware of this issue, too? STI is expected to 'fix' that in future releases? As vCloud Director auto setting RP booking limits somwhow.

    Best regards

    Carsten

Is it in vCloud 5.1.2 or 5.1.0/5.1.1? If you're on 5.1.2 and using a single cluster for the allocation (inelastic) pools, you can force elastic mode.

explanation here is for the memory usage:

  • DRCP - scenario of relief then to connect when he has not left in the session pool

    Hello community of the Oracle,

I have a DRCP configured with a maximum pool size of N. Once all sessions N pool are used, we need to have a scenario of relief for the application that is trying to establish a new connection. As per documentation these new sessions are placed in the queue, so once the free locations appear in the pool - they get them. I realize there is nothing to the pool itself, there should be a timeout parameter / parameter sqlnet.ora or in OIC connect instead. But everything that I have reached my hands to-did not work for me: session hanged just wait a bit for pool to release.

Anyone does the same approach? What was your solution?

Is there a way I can use failover at the moment to connect here to pass the customer to use queue to DEDICATED by setting simply good alias tns TAF?

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex

Answer my first question: is there a way to trigger some kind of time-out and handle exception if the connection has failed within the time limit (as when the DRCP has no free sessions and incoming requests are put in queue)?

Probably it is there no out-of-box plus solution. Key word here is "non-blocking calls OIC.

The last mention of appeal without blocking connection was in Oracle OCI for the 7.3 database - http://www.helsinki.fi/~atkk_klp/oradoc/DOC/api/doc/OCI73/ch4a.htm#toc063

(unfortunately, this page of official documentation on the Oracle's Web site is damaged and does not the whole list of functions):

Although the modern version of BEAK allows no blocking calls, but the appropriate setting (OCI_ATTR_NONBLOCKING_MODE) must be set only once the connection is established (OIC programming database -> handle and descriptor attributes ) and only affects subsequent calls.

Possible solutions for application developers I can see is the connection in the separate thread and drop it if it does not end in the defined period.

The above applies to DRCP, so I'm without touching the case when it could be solved with SQLNET. OUTBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT and TCP. CONNECT_TIMEOUT

    You have your Caps Lock?

  • Could not use the Clone Stamp tool as the area to clone has not been set

Freshly installed 10 items.  Can not use the option-click to define an area for the clone stamp.  The error I get is:

Could not use the clone stamp tool because the area to clone has not been defined (option - click to set a sampling point).

New Mac Mini.  Had the same problems in Elements 9 so I installed the trial of 10.  Is it an error of keyboard shortcut?  Do not have this problem with Elements 9 on my Mac Air or my Windows 7 system.

I'm not a newbie and know how to use the tool clone.  I won't say that I'm an expert, so if it's something related to diapers please throw some ideas.

Yes, that sounds like a problem of layers.  If the area that you use to define the source of duplication is a transparent area on one of your layers, it will not work.  Released from the Palette layers, then make sure that you use the area of the image (and not the mask area) - if the area of the image on the layer is active, it will have a border.
