  I have a friend who just got an OfficeJet 8710 printer and software installation problems.

  She has a computer HP (listed as p6110y), 64-bit Vista Home Prem w/SP2

  When we try to install the software from the CD is States that the operating system is not supported. I went to the HP site and it detected running on Vista and downloaded the webpack_OJ8710_1881.

  A ran it and the same error, the operating system that is not supported. Tried running it as an administrator, even. Went into the temp folder to run the installer directly, even. Uninstalled the old 8600 printer, rebooted, tried the installation, same error.

  Wireless printer and * not * connected USB.

  What else can we try?

  I suggest you to contact the retailer and replace the printer with a different model, the 8710 is not compatible with Vista 64 bit

  I am trying to import a virtual machine (composed of three .mf, hard, .ovf files), when I try to download the VM, it gets downloaded 100% in the catalogs, but gives an error "Cannot create" as condition to the end and when I check the error in detail, it gives me that "operations is not supported on the object.". Checked the Virtaul Center, I get the same error that 'operations is not supported on the object."in the taskbar. Google it a lot but could not find a relevant solution.

  Just for the record I have DRS activated in full auto mode and only in the aggressive State.

  Can someone help me what I can do to remedy the problem.

  There are two parts to the upload.

  5.5 download dialog box represents the progression to the record of transfer vCloud Director of the FVO.  The download method is via the integration of Client plug-in (which uses the OVF tool).

  I'm trying to clone a virtual machine using vmrun with vSphere/ESX4 by using the following command line:

  but I get the error:

  Error: The operation is not supported

  What the operation is not supported? I've not seen anything that suggests that ESX4 does not support clone.

  To be completely explicit:

  ESX supports the operation.

  However, the VIX API and vmrun do NOT support the operation against ESX. Cloning a VM is much more complicated in the vSphere environment that is in a workstation environment and of the VIX API current does not expose this complexity; for example, Clone in vSphere must know the folder in which to place the clone resulting.

  I have a big problem. All of a sudden my printer - AIO Photo964 said he cannot communicate with my computer. The printer works fine.   It is always useful to have the complete error message without paraphrase.

  It also helps to identify the version of Windows you have, including service pack.

  And it helps to give the manufacturer of the printer in addition to the model.  In your case, I guess you have a Dell printer.  I know that some Dell printers are rebadged Lexmarks, but I don't know if it's a.

  Why you try to configure the USB port?  It cannot be configured - you've discovered.  It's normal.

  It's quite strange that an iTunes installation would have had something to do with the printers.  What printer was made by default after installing iTunes?

  You say you have tried another USB cable.  Have you tried using a different USB port on the computer? Have you checked in the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK) to see if there is all the warning icons in the category "controllers of Bus USB?

  I suggest you uninstall the printer software and driver completely and reinstall by following the directions in Its first Article.

  Don't skip step 4.  After step 4 and step 5, follow these steps:

  Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
  type the following in the black command prompt window, and then press ENTER after each line

  Have you tried to do an upgrade installation or a custom installation?  A custom installation requires you to back up your files and settings with Windows Easy Transfer and then reinstall everything after installing the new.  If an update install does not install work, you need to do a custom.

  In addition, a Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade will not work and you get a message from a platform if you have bought a UA and tried to use it with Vista.  Vista upgrade requires a detail, a copy in the Windows 7 box.

  We are running vSphere 4.0. During the whole period that we used vSphere, we use vApps and Resource Pools hosts and Clusters to organize and manage the virtual machines used by our production team and test. From what I understand, this can be semantically incorrect (see: http://virtualizationreview.com/blogs/everyday-virtualization/2010/10/vsphere-folder-organization.aspx). So, I've navigated to models and virtual computers, created in folders with permissions of the user and tried to move their respective VMs to their folders... and I get the following error:

  "The operation is not supported on the object."

  So, should I go on the resolution of this or to leave things as they are?

  What are your opinions?

  Is there a right or wrong way to manage VMs of the multiple users?

  Move the virtual machines of the TIME solved the problem.

  When I suggest them to the root of the host, I was able to move in a user folder.

  Welcome to the community,

  with the free license of the hypervisor, access to vSphere API is restricted, which is most likely causing this issue. To unlock the API, you must have a paid license. Unless your host has already exceeded the 60-day evaluation period, you could try to revisit the evaluation mode to see if the command works as expected.

  If I understand correctly it train physicians AuthManager.AcquireCredentialsInGuest we are not allowed to use NamePasswordAuthentication with this method. Instead try to pass an instance of NamePasswordAuthentication directly to the method that requires authentication and do not GuestAuthManager at all.

  Any ideas how we can determine what parameters it dislikes?  I am the appellant after VixDiskLib_Disconnect as recomment docs and using the same connection params struct I used with VixDiskLib_ConnectEx.

  I think that your connection is probably not use all transport advanced, in which case _Cleanup does nothing. If you connect without using advanced transport, cleaning returns 6 - there is nothing to clean up.

• Linked Clones remain the 'customisation' stage (composer)

  I am trying to Setup automated pools view 4.5. It is my first use of pool automated using linked clones. The work of fine manual pools. When I create the pool all seems good. The replica is created and the clones follow shortly after. They then appear in the admin view in the inventory menu / Desktop, but they have a version of the 'unknown' agent and a status of "customization." They have been at this stage, for about 45 minutes, without change.

  When I look at them in vCenter I see that they are turned on and running, but looking at the Summary tab shows that they are still using the host name of the VM parent, so I guess that the sysprep process command has not yet been executed. They picked up a DHCP ip address correctly, and VMware Tools is running. I tried to manually restart one of the clones to see if it was a blocked process, but she comes back with the same status. The guest OS is Win7. To check the vCenter customization, I deployed a VM from the same model that the parent VM and using the same saved vCenter customization and it works very well, change the host name and join the domain correctly.

  Any suggestion would be appreciated!

  What is the customization you have selected during the creation of pool (Sysprep/QuckPrep)?

  Please not that regardless of the linked clone type (syspre/quickprep) customization will try to join to the domain that you chose in the Create Pool Wizard and * NOT * to that specified in the selected custom VC specification. That is why the domain account that is set up (the server vcenter - Configuration of the server administrator display page properties) should be correct, and the DNS server to resolve this area.

  So make sure you:

  1. the parameters for each client and DNS domain connectivity

  2 Appropritae account domain and ORGANIZATIONAL unit selected in the Create Pool Wizard

  3. the added domain account has enough permissions (see the admin Guide)

  If above settings are proper, then,

  4. check that the ' connect to power on "is enabled for the virtual Parent card computer and consists of the snapshot as the network settings (return tot eh snapshot and check network settings)

  We have a problem on one of our field of PC:

  • Parts of the printer in printers and faxes are missing.
  • The print spooler service stops.
  • Add Printer failed with the operation could not be completed error

  Have tried the steps:

  1. Restart the print spooler service
     The service could be restarted, but stops again when I tried to do something in the windows printers and fax machines, such as adding a printer, or open the properties of the server.

     All the steps have been followed, but still could not solve the problem.

  5. Run Chkdsk C:/f/v

  Hi all

  Fixed a problem.

  It turns out the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Providers must be cleaned too - delete all subkeys (and their values) EXCLUDES the Internet Provider LanMan Print Services and printing keys (and their values).  A reboot is required.

  Hope it will be useful for people who have this problem in the future.

  Generally, Toshiba does not support any operating system s that are not shipped with Toshiba laptops
  BUT there may be a small light at the end of the tunnel.
  As far as I know Longhorn is a new Microsoft OS Server which is not official on the market. (can I ask how you got this oS ;))
  The Longhorn supports parts of the Vista or free spoken is Vista with additional features.

  However, I think you should check out the Vista drivers available for Satellite A100 and Equium A100 series and possibly unique pilots will run
