Close the session > the browser back button

I have a simple question - I was wondering if there is an explanation or solution.

How is it that when I connect to a secure area, if I hit the back button on the browser, I am able to see the secure page to last-read? Of course, once I click on a link it redirects to log in, but it seems that page should not be visible in the first place.

For me, it is not really a big problem - but it would be a shame for someone to log a secure page that shows sensitive data, only to have this page easily accessible via the back button.

It is the nature of the web. Once you click back in the browser, the browser is not the GET request to the server for the page is rendered.

You can overcome that with some JS - http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?137518-How-to-refresh-page-after-clicking - quot back quot button. See 2007-02-07 11:35 post.

    Try to start Firefox in safe mode. This mode disables all extensions, customizations, hardware acceleration, etc., temporarily for the diagnosis and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then it is probably a problem with the add-on. Restart Firefox in normal mode, and then type "subject: addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions, restart Firefox between each one, until you find the troublemaker.

    A few other basic problems you can try things is the following:
    Run all Windows updates, install all required service packs, etc.

    I'm working on my desktop PC or on my laptop. The latest Firefox is installed on both computers (FF10.0)

  • webpageviews were saved by 3.5 tab and listed dropdown box with the arrow (was on the right side of the forward/back buttons), I can get that back?

    Whenever I changed or open a new tab in Firefox 3.5 tab remember all the pages that were visited in this tab and show a drop-down list when I click on the small arrow next to the forward/back buttons.

    When I switched tabs the dropdown would show the pages that I used to get to the page in the second tab.

    Now all tabs have their history lumped together in 1 place and I have no idea how I got to many of the places I find.

  • How can we separate "Icons and text" of the browser control buttons (back, forward, etc.) since the icons on the toolbar of the add-on?

    With us, it is not a problem. I don't know why it's different here at work - even editing, same settings (as far as I know).
    Windows Vista
    Firefox 7.0.1
    Status 4 Evar installed to activate the add-on bar in a status bar

    I have a NoScript module icon in the corner, which works very well. If I add a GreaseMonkey icon in the menu customize, "Icon and the text" is displayed for this icon as the icon and text browser controls (home, stop, etc.). Other icons the module show icon and the text (S4E, for example). NoScript is the only one I've found so far that collapses down to just an icon.

    I like this leads to the bar having a higher status (add-on). Basically what I want is for only the icon is displayed in the State (toolbar Add on), while keeping icons and text in the browser controls. My current solution is simply to remove the other icons of the add-on - it from the status bar (add-on), but which removes the ease of turning on/off and setting options.

    Please tell me if I can provide you with another thing and thanks for your help.

    Edit: I have some screenshots to show what I mean.
    desired behavior
    problem when the icon is added

    I tried, and while it does not remove the text, buttons retain their width, collapses don't not down icons. I was able to get exactly the effect I want to by changing the setting in the DOM, as stated in my post above, but which only lasted as long as the session and returned to the way it was before, when I restarted Firefox.

    After a few tries, I finally joined the userChrome following tweaks. This tweak sets the buttons didn't use any text, be limited to 20 pixels of width, and, if a drop-down list arrow is present, to hide that. Greasemonkey uses a drop-down list item separated so it must be hidden specifically.

    #addon-bar .toolbarbutton-text { display:none !important; }
    /*The following work for most of my icons except Greasemonkey*/
    #addon-bar .toolbarbutton-menu-dropmarker { display: none !important; }
    #addon-bar .toolbarbutton-1 { min-width:20px !important; }
    /*The following are specific to greasemonkey*/
    #addon-bar .toolbarbutton-menubutton-button { min-width:20px !important; }
    #greasemonkey-tbb > dropmarker {  display: none !important; }

  • How to avoid the focus problem when browsing via browser back button

    Hello

    I am facing a problem in setting focus on the buttons.
    Please see application: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=47869:2

    login details:
    Workspace: vsanthanam
    user: vijay
    PSWD: apex_demo

    In this application, I have 2 pages.
    #2 has the "submit" button
    Page no. 3 contains the Cancel button

    The two buttons are basic HTML and can be accessed using access key ALT + s and ALT + c.

    The problem is:
    When I go back to the previous page (pgid #2) of the application using back button of the browser pgid IE #3.
    due to the onFocus event located in the button "submit", control returns to pgid #3.

    Is there a possible way to set the focus to other elements. so that whenever IE brower back button, application would stay in
    page #2.

    I took approaches:
    -------------------------
    If we use onclick, onfocus instead and then the problem remains because we have onfocus = "this.click (); in equipping the Accesskey.
    Another way is onKeyup event. If we use onKeyup, we can avoid this browser back problem, but disappears from the access keys functions.

    Pointers on this would be a great help.

    Thank you very much
    -Vijay

    PLEASE NOTE: I have created intentionally two buttons on each page. It is necessary to have HTML buttons with the key features of access,
    otherwise application gives a few flaws in HTML accesskey.

    Hi Vijay,

    Crikey, aren't annoying browsers! It took a while to get out, but I've updated your SUBMIT1 button attributes:

    class="t20Button" AccessKey="s" tabindex="-1" onclick="javascript:this.blur();doSubmit('SUBMIT1');" onfocus="javascript:this.blur();doSubmit('SUBMIT1');"

    Note that I removed the spare semicolons you after each attribute - these are only required in javascript code.

    The important point to note are the statements of "this.blur" () - this tells the browser to move away from the current item to the next. On your page, only for this purpose, I have added a text element of Temp - I am assuming that your actual page will have at least one other element on the page that will accept the focus? Everything gets focus of the call "this.blur ()", should be the element with focus when the Back button is used.

  • IE cache on the browser back side

    Hi all

    I have a form page, a page of action and a confirmation page.

    I send the form page... takes me to the action page where I validate the fields... fields are NOT valid... I place the data and the error message in the session and redirect (cflocation) to the form page. In the page of form I to store session variables (err message and incorrect data) into local variables, destroy the session variables and use local variables afterwards.

    Now I have the correct values and submit the form again... going... valid action page and then redirect to the confirmation page.

    Now if I use my browser back from the confirmation page, it takes me to the page of form with the validation error message and incorrect data... I understand that the IE 7 browser uses the cache to get the data... but I tried to use cfheader and META tags to avoid pulling... always pulls of browser cache cache... This does not happen in Firefox. I use the following code.

    < name cfheader = 'cache-control' value = "no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate" >
    < name cfheader = "pragma" value = "no-cache" >
    < name cfheader = "expires" value = "#getHttpTimeString (now ()) #" >

    < META HTTP-EQUIV = "expires" CONTENT = "-1" >
    < META HTTP-EQUIV = "pragma" CONTENT = "no-cache" >
    < META HTTP-EQUIV = "cache-control" CONTENT = "no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate" >

    Any thoughts on how this can be resolved?

    Hi Madhu,

    I am back. I revisited the thread and my test code. The first code that worked for me is, in fact, not very different from the one I gave above. Only the headers, no tag meta. And my headers are more or less the same as those of the original of your post, too!  So why it works for me and not for you?

    The crucial point to be noted is that if IE buttons next and previous shows pages cached, then it may be that these pages were already stored as history. This means that, in your case, IE must have disobeyed the directive no.-cache. How?

    My first guess is: the web server. If you're using ColdFusion's built-in JRun Web Server, for example, then who might be the index. This web server uses the HTTP/1.0 protocol to answer. Current browsers expect the HTTP/1.1 version. For example, the Cache-Control header was introduced in HTTP/1.1. It could be that HTTP/1.0 is too old for IE and, possibly, that IE is not backward compatible as the HTTP protocol is concerned. Test for to do us next is to compare the behavior of the headers for HTTP/1.0 and HTTP/1.1 web servers.

  • How do I close the browser

    Hello

    I want when I use the button close in my application to the field of browser load the url gets stop and move to the previous screen. So how to proceed?

    How to stop the browser to load the url?

    Thank you Peter and Aman.

    I think that my question was not clear for you.

    There is a menu called narrow so if I click on close the html page which was loading gets closed and I get the previos screen in my application.

    So, I found the solution.

    public boolean onClose()
    {
    Html1.this.close ();
    UiApplication.getUiApplication () .getActiveScreen () m:System.NET.Sockets.Socket.close ();
    Returns true;

    }
