Cluster VI output?

So it's probably a very easy question to answer, but I can't seem to find this information in all the help files.

I am creating a VI with inputs and outputs so that I can interface with Signal Express VI.

Where can I find symbols to insert in my VI, where I then can I connect to the control panel connector for Signal i/o Express can access the IO of the VI?

Specifically, I'm looking for an output connector to be able to pass out of my VI and in Signal Express clusters. But any general help in this area is also appreciated.

Thank you.

To get the output of the cluster:

Click on the output of when the cluster is created (in this case a build cluster), and then select Create, then choose indicator.

To get a cluster in, select you control.

Then just select it as you would any other indicator or control when assigning to the terminals on the block VI icon.

  • Output to arrays in a Cluster

    First of all, it's a problem of school. The purpose of creating a VI that reads 20 readings of temperature and beams with the beat of the measure. I created a VI that is running this, but I'm not satisfied with my results. This is the VI, the Panel before is just a chart in waveform over time as the axis of the x and the temperature as the value axis.

    For simplicity, the VI works. But I want to do more and see if I can create an output table that relates to measures of 20 temperature as below:

    The problem is that I can't figure out how to make a 2d output array, or 1 2 tables work with temperature and time down the berries. I want to start the VI, and the temperature of the sample and the respective time move to the bottom of the table. I can't understand this, and I would like some advice in what exactly I can do to make it work. Below is my attempt to initialize the tables, using my inputs and produce my cluster of output as shown above. I can't understand what I'm doing wrong here, and I've lost a lot of time and resources trying to figure out. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thank you

    Thank you for trying the problem before coming to us, this goes a long way on the forums. When you share the code, please include an excerpt of your code, or attach your screws, so that we can better help you. We are here to help, but will not spend the whole day you re-create your code from scratch.

    What you run in to is a problem with a set of tables and an array of clusters of mixture. Your last code it make much sense... You are creating tables 2D and then by creating an array of clusters of tables...

    I think that's what you want to do:

  • Insert into the cluster by string name

    Hello

    I am writing a Labview program to query .NET database management system and get the connected device (like USB CDC) listed with Port of corresponding Com, VID, PID, manufacturer of SN name ect...

    I got to the point where I get the channels I need and want to organize them in a cluster table.

    Here is my code, I wanted a better way to replace section circle of the code.

    Basically, I can get programmatically the cluster name, but when the cluster wads, I can't figure out a way to do it programmatically inside the while loop: a loop on the number of items in the cluster and by placing values in the right place.

    Is it possible to do?

    Thank you very much

    Amine

    Altenbach says:

    If the cluster contains exactly three elements of the chain (nothing else!) and they are classified as in the node of your 'bundle by name", all you have to do is on the"table of cluster"output size 3 and it wire in a table build node (upper entrance wired to your array of cluster and botton imput cable to the new cluster) Wired output by the right side of the image).

    Here is a simplified illustration which simply sets the value of the label. (top image). Because the labels are defined at compile time, all you need is perhaps to get the names of once at the beginning of the program, and then use a range of simple string instead.

    Another possibility would be to use the reference to the element to set the value inside the loop, and then get the final cluster value later (at the bottom of the image).

    (There are some simplified examples. All you need is to replace the code that gets your new string instead.)

    So what I decided to do was to make a configuration using XML file that can be changed by using eaisly free XML Notepad Microsoft. This configuration file contains the type of instruments and resources VISA n other parameters as needed. I have attached a sample that I am in.

    Analysis of the XML seems to work but the cluster of output is not updated.

    I even put a probe on the wire of the just before cluster as the indicator and data has probe, but the light is still empty?

  • How to convert an array into a cluster of the same type as the one used to build the table previously?

    I have a group of 6 items I need to change in a table for the part of the VI process.  What I can do, but then I need to change in a cluster of the same type to be used elsewhere.  When I change the table in a cluster, I find myself with a cluster of 9 elements, which of course is not compatible!

    I am attaching snapshots of context-sensitive help in the initial cluster, the intermediate table and the final cluster (bad).  Regarding the photos, the length of the 1 d tables and values in their midst are the only subject to change things.

    Please could someone help by suggesting ways to work around this problem.  Thank you

    Please do not post bitmaps by chaning simply .jpg file name extension. Do not change the file type. There is a good reason why the forums software does not bitmaps, and this is because the file sizes are huge.

    To your question: right click on the table of the Cluster service and select 'Size of Cluster' in the context menu to set the size of the cluster of output.

  • Call to a shared library a VI on a target NI Linux RT (cRIO 9068)

    Hi, I wrote a very small shared library (.so) with Eclipse (toolchain 2014), which essentially serves as a wrapper for more complex, but I am having problems with the call go to in LabVIEW RT on a target Linux RT - specifically, the cRIO 9068. First: the library was copied in/usr/lib and ldconfig has been correctly implemented. More important yet, I have also written a C program (using Eclipse as well) that calls the single function currently implemented in the shared library: this works perfectly, both in Eclipse and you connecting directly on the cRIO with a Putty terminal. So I guess the shared library itself is ok and can be called from code/external programs. Now, dating back to LabVIEW (2014 here btw). Here's where things get difficult, I guess. Initially, I had the symptoms listed here--> http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/How-to-create-a-c-shared-library-so-for-linux-real-time-for/td-p/302... who prevented me from actually run any code on the target of RT. Then I changed the call library function node: various tutorials suggest to put name_of_library.* in the path text box or the name of library, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work, so I had to put the name and the extension too. But it still produces the error below ("the name of the function is not found" etc.) So I check the box 'specify path on diagram' and add/usr/lib as a parameter to the node library function call: now the VI can work and is actually transferred to the target of the RT... but the cluster of output error returns error 7, which is a kind of "File not found" error. However, I believe that this error message is misleading: indeed, if I try to debug remotely this library shared under Eclipse, I am actually able to pause it. and when I press the Pause button on the debugger, the goal of RT VI pauses, then continues as soon as I press the Resume button, I'm stuck... I tried searching forums and Google as well, but I have not yet found a solution. Any ideas on what's going on? Moreover, I can add more details if needed.

    Problem solved, it was a bad configuration of the node library function call which prevented the actual library (.so) to be called.

    There is something very common to do during initialization - group things upwards into a cluster and carry it around to use throughout the program, in sub - vi, etc.. I am happy that you are not only throw all in local or global sections!

    Yep, you will use just a constant Cluster across the first time it was packaged. Take this constant initial cluster, simply create your cluster of output known > constant. So to answer your question, the constant of cluster is defined by the known output.

    However, if this cluster ever changes during development and it will be , you are going to change every single cluster within sub - vi and an initial constant... or... you'll accompany Ben to advise and do a TypeDef!

  • from the data varying in queues, error code 91

    Task:

    pass data varying in a cluster as a data type of queue, i.e. the bundle a boolean and a string (the string is converted to a Variant).  Create two while loops (producer + consumer).

    Everything works fine the consumer using variant of the Labview if timeout for the dequeue is - 1 service data function.  Then when the data is sent (in response to a press of button in the producer) data are received and displayed correctly.

    However to modify the time-out of the consumer to say 500ms and then each time-out time that 91 error as shown in the attachment.

    I would like to know what I'm doing wrong, because it is not completely clear to me why it works with the infinite time-out but not the time 500 ms.

    Hello

    When "wait" wait times the function provides an empty cluster as output.  When you try to convert a white to a string type, it generates an error.

    Just do not transmit data to the conversion operation when the dequeue tiimeouts.

  • Make measurements in parallel

    The title is a misnomer since Labview accesses every VI in a sequential way randomly. However, for me, I am measuring three quantities. Two of these measures take different, but a long time (more than the third).

    I use mistake / error in to sequence operations. I hoped to do was to use the error on the cluster of excitement VI to introduce all three instruments in parallel and then at the end, expect that any mistake three clusters of these three screws to be filled before proceeding.

    I can easily make a dummy VI that takes three clusters error and then generates a cluster of output (connected to a single internally of course - I have no idea how merge the contents of these clusters of three error). Of course, in normal operation, any of them whatsoever supposed to contain what.

    The question is - is this a good strategy? Or y at - it something better (you could suggest in response)?

    There is a VI error fusion you can use.

    The only problem I have encountered in using this: if I have a dependency of my instruments order errors for fusion vi errors is important. If a setting of Instr2 is used as Instr1 input parameter and there is an error on the Instr2 wire, a bad value can be passed to Instr1 generating an error on the wire of the mistake of Instr1. The fusion VI error me error on wire1 and ignore the error message of Instr2. So in this case I set instr2 to the error in 1 wire and wire Instr1 error for error in 2.

  • The sticky engine

    I have a very funny bug (?). In the extract which is attached when the condition for both cases structures become TRUE, I am turning off an engine power of 22KW, bit, he wrote to a function of writing DAQMX and goes to the next case. 3 of the 10 times that the engine cuts, leading to a messed up the machine sequence. I don't know that I'm passing to the next case as changes in Message string as expected. In fact this can occur only if the BAU changes before the cluster of output is written to. But I'm sure that it can happen that both are updated in the same case?

    What can be wrong in such a situation the DAQMX write failed to refresh at times? And being a random faultr, I am unable to conceive any trap the error.  Going nuts on the issue. Any tips? Or is there is a fundamental flaw in the approach? (The TimedLoop turns to 10ms without warning 'Finished' later).

  • List of all VM network name and IP address

    I am trying to get my head around powerCLI.

    I want to create a script that will the virtual machines on a cluster of output and display their network name and IP address.

    I have this so far.

    (get - vm). %{
    $vm = $_
    echo $vm.name.
    $vm. Guest.Nics | %{
    $vminfo = $_
    echo $vminfo.NetworkName $vminfo. IP $vminfo. MacAddress
    echo '; ' n ';
    }
    } | Export-Csv C:\vm_nic_report.csv

    I'd love to be able to limit the output on the cluster baised, but I can't understand this.

    If I run it without the Export-CSV, I see the info that I need on the screen, but if I add the Export.csv, my CSV is a colum with a bunch of numbers and no real value.

    Hello, TdisalvoOrinoco-

    If you want to limit the output to virtual machines that reside in a specific cluster, you can just start the whole expression with a Get-Cluster and then direct to the Get - VM with which you start currently (or use the - rental on Get - VM parameter).  Thus, the first line would be one of:

    &{Get-VM -Location (Get-Cluster myCluster0) | %{    $thisVm = $_    ## a hashtable for holding properties to be returned    $hshNicInfo = @{}; $hshNicInfo["VMName"] = $thisVm.Name    ## for each NIC, build some info with MACAddr, IPInfo, and Network Name    $thisVm.Guest.Nics | % -Begin {$i = 0} -Process {        $oThisNicInfo = $_    ## the current NicInfo item        ## get the IP info (IPv4 and IPv6 if there, which should be available if VMware Tools are running)        $strIPInfo = ($oThisNicInfo.IpAddress | sort) -join "/"        ## add the NicInfo items to the hashtable for later use with New-Object        $hshNicInfo["Nic${i}MACAddr"] = $oThisNicInfo.MacAddress        $hshNicInfo["Nic${i}IPInfo"] = $strIPInfo        ## this does not seem to have the network name if the portgroup is on a distributed vSwitch, so changed to the line after it        #$hshNicInfo["Nic${i}NetName"] = $oThisNicInfo.NetworkName        $hshNicInfo["Nic${i}NetName"] = ($thisVm.NetworkAdapters | ?{$_.MacAddress -eq $oThisNicInfo.MacAddress}).NetworkName        $i++    } ## end foreach-object

        ## once the hashtable is populated for all NICs, create a new object with the info New-Object -TypeName PSObject -Property $hshNicInfo} ## end foreach-object## sorting goodness from LucD (of course) at http://communities.vmware.com/message/1769991#1769991} | sort -Property {(Get-Member -InputObject $_ -Name "Nic*").Count} -Descending | Select VMName,Nic* | ` Export-Csv -NoTypeInformation -UseCulture C:\temp\vm_nic_report.csv

    This is similar to the script posted in the thread http://communities.vmware.com/message/1848022#1848022 (which post has a bit more info on the necessary sorting for good performance, but also another way to recover data, using Get - views).

    In any case, it is a little more that you might write to debut with PowerCLI, but that he gets the output you're looking?

    Message edited by mattboren on February 15, 2013: change the part that gets the name of the network, such as TdisalvoOrinoco noted that VMs on vSwitches distributed has not been populated NetworkName

  • Python, call DLLs in LabVIEW: Fatal internal error when accessing output String Cluster

    Hello

    We have compiled a DLL in LabVIEW (TestError.dll) and tried to call it from Python.

    TestError.dll includes 2 functions:

    1 testErreur: cluster 1 entry string, 1 channel indicator

    2 TestError2: 1 channel input, 1 bunch of output string

    What we try to do in Python is actually something like this:

    1 provide values to controls in the functions of the DLL.

    2. call the DLL.

    3 get the values of the indicators.

    What we have seen are:

    1 read/write operations on normal data types (string, digital) indicators/controls are OK

    2. write operation on the Cluster string entry is OK

    3. read operation on the Cluster output string is not OK. The following error is still prompted for:

    «Unrecoverable internal error: 'MemoryManager.cpp', line 437.» LabVIEW version 8.6... »

    Also joined the TestError.prj and python code.

    Grateful if someone can help to explain why we get this error and how to overcome?

    Thank you

    It is very logical that it does not, and the bad news is, it cannot really be implemented reliable of a process not LabVIEW.

    LabVIEW channels (and tables) are very specific species. They are then called handles, which are pointers to a pointer to a block of memory. If you have a control or indicator on its own, the Prototype configuration allows you to configure this setting as a C. LabVIEW data pointer, when creating the DLL, create heels C for each exported function and place the code to do the translation between the past C pointer to and necessary LabVIEW data handle. For strings and arrays within the cluster, there is no configuration option and the DLL is expected to pass a structure with data handles native LabVIEW in there.

    You may say that creating handles data in your calling process enough to trick LabVIEW. For the input variables that actually CAN sometimes work (but is a delicate and dangerous generally to handle this). There is no way to make it work for output variables. LabVIEW will try to resize handle to fill data in that he wants to make. This resizing is done using internal memory manager of LabVIEW. This will work only if it had been allocated by EXACTLY the same instance of the memory manager. Otherwise, it refers to a different memory segment and catastophally fail. The only way to make this work perhaps, with luck, taking your heart and prayer to the gods, is to lvrt.dll to allocate a handle that you must pass to the DLL. Still find the good lvrt.dll, which will execute your DLL LabVIEW is a major challenge.

  • Find virtual machines in a range of IP addresses and name, IP and output Cluster

    Hello

    I am trying to create a script for the release of all the virtual machines that fall within a range of IP addresses and exit the VM name, IP address and the Virtual Cluster of machine is hosted in. I've got so far as to the release of the name of VM and IP, but can't seem to get the cluster to work. I can't find an expression for an attribute of Cluster in Get-View. Does anyone know how to complete it? Or maybe another way to go about this?

    That foot kicks back an error for each virtual computer running trying to interview (below). I don't know, but you are able to use - property and - Id in the same line - filter?

    Get-view: all parameters can be resolved by using the specified named parameters.

    Online: 15 char: 13

    + View-EEG-Id $esx. VM-Name, property filter Guest.IPAddress @{'guest...

    + CategoryInfo: InvalidArgument: (:)) [Get-view], ParameterBindingException)

    + FullyQualifiedErrorId: AmbiguousParameterSet, VMware.VimAutomation.ViCore.Cmdlets.Commands.DotNetInterop.GetVIView

    Change what you have there to remove the - filter and add back to the place where the declaration did the trick. Runs without error, but still takes a minute or two to complete. But that's fine.

    foreach ($cluster in (Get-View - ViewType ClusterComputeResource-property name, host)) {}

    foreach ($esx in (Get-View-Id $cluster. Home - VM property)) {}

    if($ESX.) VM) {}

    Notice-EEG-Id $esx. VM-Name property, Guest.IPAddress | where {$_.guest.} {IpAddress-like ' 10.10.10 * "} |

    Select Name,@{N='Cluster'; E = {$cluster. Name}},@{N='IP'; E = {$_.guest.} Ip_address}}

    }

    }

    }

    If I wanted to filter by name of Vlan or VlanID would I be able to replace the Guest.IpAddress property for a related property of VLAN?

    Thank you very much for the help!

  • Get-Cluster output blank list?

    I hope that it should be easy, but it baffled me completely. I set up a script that will ask a number of questions and deploy a virtual machine based on the answers.  One of my articles of the code is one 'other' section instead of choosing from a menu, the person who runs the script can manually enter things like the name of the Cluster, the name of Resource Pool and data store.  I invite to the Cluster name, and then run a Get-Cluster command to output a list of Resource Pools, prompt the user to choose a pool, then run a command to list data warehouses available on the hosts in a cluster.  This is where it gets weird.  If I manually run these commands in a Windows Powershell CLI, they work fine, but when I run it in a .ps1 script, the list of data store outputs blank lines in the place where the list should be.  Here are some very stripped of this code:

    $ClusterInput = Read-Host "Enter the VMware cluster name"
    Connect-VIServer vcenter | Out-Null
    Get-Cluster $ClusterInput | Get-ResourcePool | Select @{N="Resource Pool";E={$_.Name}} | Where-Object {$_.'Resource Pool' -ne 'Resources'}
    $ResourcePool = Read-Host "Enter the name of a Resource Pool listed above to place the virtual machine"
    $myCluster = Get-Cluster -Name $ClusterInput | Get-ResourcePool $ResourcePool
    Write-Host "Retrieving a list of Datatores in cluster $ClusterInput..."
    Get-Cluster $ClusterInput | Get-VMHost | Get-Datastore | Sort Name

    The last line, 07, what shows empty lines.  Line 03 outputs very well and is basically the same thing.

    I can assign a variable to the line 07 and then run through a loop to exit, but the format is not as nice as the only line should be able to do on its own

    Any ideas?

    Try changing the last line to

    Get-Cluster $ClusterInput | Get-VMHost | Get-Datastore. Sort name | Out-host
