CMOS reset

I have to reset the date/time COTM, every time I have to install a new Windows Update.

I have to reset the date/time COTM, every time I have to install a new Windows Update.

(1) check the status of CMOS battary... If it is directed to the bottom...

(2) check the time zone that is attached to your vista pc... is this correct?

  • Qosmio F50 - 10Z Bios Update crashed - how a cmos reset?

I have a Qosmio F50 - 10Z and prompted by toshiba I downloaded the Bios Update and started to install.
My screen saver came and it crashed.

Not turn off (even after pressing the power button for 15 seconds).

Tried to take part to Flash the bios by removing battery cmos/rtc (whatever it's called) but cannot find the battery and got to the point where I wasn't ready to dismantle any more (nobody else never disassembled a?)

Could not find information or diagram or picture where the battery has been on the net... manual really useless laptop)

Found reviews records of crisis, but I don't know what that means.

So, how to I reset the bios?

Please help - you're my only hope.

    > So, now, I find the cmos/rtc battery (if it's rechargeable explains so why does not easily localized) removed, he persevered on in a more accessible place - always reset BIOS

Removing battery RTC would not help reset you mate sorry to the ROM BIOS module but what you did was completely useless
It seems that the ROM modules where the BIOS is stored, was not properly flashed or something went wrong during the flash procedure

In case of bad you the mobo is unfortunate but I think that Flash module ROM once more with a disc of crisis could help solve this case
But the fact is that flashing the ROM module with a disc of crisis can be done by a technician of Toshiba ASP.
That's why I recommend contacting the guys in your country and ask for flashing ROM

  • Compaq Presario jumper CMOS reset position CQ5110Y?

My Presario CQ5110Y primer not. The power supply, cpu and case fans all came. I have no POSTAL codes or response of BIOS of any kind. It happened when I turned the computer on in the morning. It was closed properly the day before evening. I replaced a known good power, but got the same results. I want to clear the CMOS settings in the BIOS to see what will help. This motherboard has a rather unusual jumper to clear the CMOS memory. This isn't the standard 3 points set up. It has a single rider mounted on 7 pins. How can I clear the CMOS? Has anyone else had a problem like this.

    Chaz

Here's your motherboard with a procedure to clear the CMOS memory.

    Hallo,

I own a G1 F7Y99EA 350 HP, (shipped with BIOS version f.13, via the latest version of the BIOS HP is f.12!)

Every time after that the power is off (whether it's battery or simply remove the battery) I get the CMOS checksum error (502) with reset. After the reset, everything works perfectly fine, I have to change date & time, otherwise a few software goes crazy.

I run win7 pro x 64 and my system is in good condition, checked with the HP Support Assistant and HP Instant Support Professional Edition (online tool from HP). I installed the drivers from the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology and HP 3D keep.

I also have a boot mSata SSD (120 GB mS200 Kingston). The 750 GB drive only for data (no OS on this subject).

    Any ideas, suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately I can't find out how to clear the CMOS, but you can request a certified partner to remove the BIOS password. But I don't know if they will be fresh for the deletion, the greater part of the ASP´s that so get ready this basic need to pay something for it.

  • Reset password/fingerprint BIOS lockout on EliteBook 8560p

    Hello

Our company bought an EliteBook 8560p year last for a Manager. He died last December and the family gave us his address of company. The EliteBook has protection of fingerprints fingerprint and password on startup (but no disk encryption). We do not have his password on file and I tried to disconnect the battery from the clock for more than 18 hours, but it always happens with this password. Another I tried everything short of zap the chip with an electrical pulse to high energy to go down this password.

Do you know what the next step would be to get this password reset? I am open to the call to HP support technician to reset it or if there is another way, we do not send her away.

Too bad, I could do a BIOS CMOS reset.

  • Canoe reset the password on my pavilion slimline S7727C

I have a pavilion S7727C slimline runnig Office win xp pro sp3. The other day I was leaving for a trip and changed the password of user logon to oust the children while I was away. 3 days later, on the way back, I realized that I could not remember what was the password. Ive tried every password I have; "ve never used over the past 20 years. no luck. I tried using the password and cmos reset function, but change the pins to reset does not work. I change the settings of pine 2-3 (default) to pims reset 1-2 and restart the computer and nothing happens. It does not start in reset mode it going straight to windows screen, the same before resetting the pins to reset the system. nothing ive tried seems to work on this pc. can someone tell me the correct procedure to replace these pawns and reset the password? When I turn the power off and unplug the unit to change the pins, should I also purchase backup battery as well? I am at a loss here to solve this problem, and I don't have the software for this camera when I bought it I had the vista Home premium deleted and the dealer install windows xp sp3 proffesionla for me instead of the vista it is came with, so restart is not an option.and windows 7 is NEVER an option for everything I own or use. Help! does anyone have the answer to this dilemma? Thanks in advance Bill Huff Sr

Thank you, Jennifer. I used spotmau yo system utilities program recover and clear all passwords in the pc and now its working fine again. I tried google on another laptop at first, but all the info I got from sites has been vague atbest.  Then I remembered that I had bought the spotmau program a few years ago because I needed a good program to mirror op systems from old to new hard drives. I didn't know he had a recovery password and reset the function included, it worked very well. Thanks again for your suggestions.  Bill655

  • No audio after installing new graphics card

I recently installed a Geforce 8800 gt xfx graphics card. After you install the graphics card, I have more audio analogue. My computer does not detect the analog audio devices. Things I've tried: reinstalling the drivers chipset audio activation built into the bios bios reset CMOS reset reinstallation Editing registry. PC specs: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02628226 (Note: all specifications listed are correct except the video card and power supply) voltage is the 450w graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150280

Yes, it is possible, that there is an overload.

The solution is to get a sound card not cheap, I think.

One that works with everything what add on slots (PCI/PCIe x 1) you have.

Then get a Radeon HD6570 (didn't need additional power supply), or some other card Radeon HD if you wish.

  • shaded in hp elite desktop 8300 bios virtualization options

    Hello

I have a computer format microtour HP 8300 Elite convertible with Intel core i7-3770

In the bios under the security system, I don't then activate intel vt - x and vt - d intel.

    P/N: C3B59ESR #ABV

I tried upgrading to the latest BIOS v2.90, but without success, checked also all other options in the bios, a full CMOS reset... but no luck on either.

    Please advise!

Below is a picture of the options as shown in the bios. As you can see I can only turn the prevention of execution of data.

OK, problem solved. Some how the TPM has been blocked in an undefined state. After forcing the Activate by using the bios Setup utility and initialization of the TPM Module of windows (tpm.msc) I had to reboot and the bios prompted me to question if I wanted to activate the TPM. I accepted this and when entering in the bios by looking at the security settings of the system was able to disable Trusted Execution Technology and it gave me the option to turn virtualization options! It took me 5 hours to get the job of the thing.

  • HP TouchSmart 610 BIOS, all elements are gray and inaccessible?

    Hello

    HP TouchSmart 610-1010sc

BIOS HP version 6.09 (FRIEND BIOS 2.6 x)

I am able to get into the BIOS with F10, but every time he asks: ' "user CURRENT password:".

When I type the password (empty) computer gives 2 long beeps and it enters BIOS.

But the PROBLEM is that all the elements are disabled...

Which means that all the items are grayed. If I look at the instructions of the BIOS (HP bios for motherboard F01 settings) there are many editable parameters (BLUE) as boot disks, lan onboar elements, load default configuration etc.

But in my computer, everything is visible, but GRAY and inaccessible. I can't access or modify anything even not "Load setup defaults". Only active items are "Exit ignorant changes" and "Exit save changes."

    What's not here?

How can I access BIOS so that I can change the settings normally?

Finally the BIOS and boot LOGO obtained works!

I noticed that, after CMOS, reset all the product data in the SYSTEM IDs inside the HP BIOS section me wiped out.

So I had to enter my BIOS by CTRL + F10 instead of normal F10, so that the ID SYSTEM fields are editable.

Then just re-typed all the information of two stickers found the back of the computer.

First content SERIES only and PART SKU No.. Second was BUILD ID, BYTES and NAME OF THE PRODUCT FUNCTIONALITY.

NOTICE! Note that you can type BYTES of FUNCTIONALITY that once, when recording it will be grayed out out/no editable.

After saving these changes to the BIOS and restart the computer, the LOGO is the settings the computer BIOS and fully accessible back once more
