  OK I'll try to explain.

  1LCPU can be pinned to several virtual machines.

  If I have 1 quad core CPU, I have 4 LCPUs

  I can create as many virtual machines

  (1) 1 VM with vcpus 1

  (2) 1 VM with 2 vcpus

  (3) 1 VM with 4 vcpus

  1st VM will be pinned to 1 LCPU.

  2nd VM will be pinned on the 2nd, 3rd LCPU.

  3rd VM will be pinned to LCPU 1,2,3,4.

  If the processor reqquest comes from 1 VM and VM 3rd at the same time, she will be the process queue and do accordingly!

  When I see via Vcenter console to below two hosts:

  first host via vcenter console found Dell R900 there 4 physical CPU taken each socket supports 6 hearts. The Socket is Intel Xeon x 7640 it shows 24 logical processors.

  The second host via console found R910 Dell vcenter, she has 4 CPU sockets physical each socket supports 6 cores. The Socket is Intel Xeon x 7540 it shows 48 logical processors.

  why there is difference of logical processors. and how it was calculated.

  The difference is that on the second host hyperthreading is enabled - a logical processor is a physical core or the Hyperthreaded where a virtual cpu will be scheduled.

  On our server Esxi 4.1, we have 2 x processors quad core (xeon e5640)

  In the VI Client lists:

  processor = 2 Sockets

  cores per socket = 4

  and then the bit I do not understand...

  logical processors = 16

  Can someone explain why the logical processors = 16 and not 8? Someone asked me and I didn't know the answer!

  Maybe this is a stupid Question.

  If I have a cluster that has 4 hosts. Each host has 4 x Quad Core Processors (not Hyper Threading), that gives me 16 logical processors for each host a total of 64 logical processors in my Cluster.

  Does that mean that I could create only 16 VMS with 4 CPU?

  VMware currently recommended as a guide for vSphere - 4-8 vCPUs per core - 6 usually. so a box Quad-cores should accommodate 96 VMS, assuming there is enough memort, disk and network - but you're right more resource consuption the virtual machine requires less of these virtual machines you can host on a single ESX/ESXi server - this is why it is essential to have the resources the VMS invited-

  I recently installed first Elements 10.  I went to import videos from a folder and I get this error "this file type is not supported, or the required codec is not installed.  After searching around the internet, I installed the DivX codec (from their website).  How can I get PE10 to recognize this codec?

  DivX is rarely supported, but some users say success import some flavors of it to the pre.

  I simply convert DivX, which is a format of streaming delivery, DV - AVI or other format, a conversion program. I use the older DigitalMedia Converter 2.7.

  I understand your question as difference between 1. logic virtual CPU vs / by the hosts and 2. cluster/host Max County VM.

  Consider the case below;

  2 servers ESXi - 20 mV

  ESXi taken 1-4, 2 cores / socket

  ESXi 2-8 Sockets, 2 cores / socket

  Now here number of CPU logic-(4 x 2) + (8 x 2) = 24

  20 virtual machines - 2 jacks, 2 core / socket

  Virtual CPU count - 20 x (2 * 2) = 80

  Hope your first confusion is clear now.

  And a more complex thing to maximum rates:

  Virtual machines per host: 512

  Number of hosts per cluster: 32

  Therefore, the cluster may be Virtual Machines (maximum): 521 * 32 = 16384

  But in the document, we have only 4000 VMs in maximum.

  Why?

  This means that even if you have 32 Guest and each host can accommodate 512 VMs each the maximum number of virtual machines per cluster may not exceed 4000. And it does not mean that you can have a maximum of VMS (512 * 32).

• Server has 80 logical processors, but I can only use 8 cores for a virtual machine

  We have a host of ESXi 4.1 with four 10 processors and we want to give a VM 20 vCPUs for a test, but I can choose only 2 virtual Sockets with 4 cores per socket or 1 virtual socket with 8 cores. What is the maximum I can do? I'll attach screenshots so you can see what I'm looking at.

  With vSphere 4.1 eight-way virtual SMP is the maximum that you can configure with the Enterprise Plus license. With vSphere 5.1 the maximum has been increased to 64 channels for businesses more (32 channels for the company).

  It is a follow-up to a previous debate.  Less than 2 years ago, I had a default videocard from apple (OEM) with lines of scratches on the screen.  I replaced it with a

  ATI Radeon HD 4870 Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro Apple sold by: JAG technology it worked fine until I have let my old Mac 2008 for 9 months. When I turned it on to use for art, the startup has been slow and the screen became often black or never turned on at all. And the map seemed to be running really hot.    I pulled the card according to the suggestions and started and checked start with Hello time and on screen sharing my network and it seemed to have a time of normal start for this computer. But when doing screen sharing the screen remains black. So, I can see the contents of the hard drive, etc., but there is no display.

  I ran TechTool Pro and all components on the Mac pass inspection including the video ram.    I wonder if the problem is a graphics processor integrated on the system board itself or just the graphics card.    If the chip card display does not work, shouldn't be able to see a display from a distance even in the absence of a graphics card? Or not?   I don't want to pay $150 to replace a card if it is bad.

  There is no piece of the display on the map. For video, you need a working video card.

  Try reinstalling on both ends of the cables of two power between the card and power on the logic board UAX connectors.

• Piano MIDI pedals on logic pro problems

  the pedals of my piano yamaha arius, the right and the middle ones, produce a sound when connected to logic pro X. I can't pass that off, and it drives me crazy because I can not play with pedals, which sounds terrible depends on music. The right pedal produce a E and the middle one a d. and it its really strong.   This looks like to me MIDI controller messages being modified in MIDI Note messages. (These message numbers of control pedal, 64-127 and 66-127, correspond to these notes, and the value down to a pedal is 127, which, for a note, would be the largest value for sound intensity). Unfortunately, this can have several causes. A simple thing to try is:

  

  But don't think it will work in your case, as I suspect that the messages are sent by your Yamaha like this, so you will have to consult its manual and maybe its forums to find out what parameters to change. I guess that the Yamaha has a direct USB connection and not a separate MIDI interface?

• Virus or the logic board problem?

  Everyone has this screen before? Another screen that appears is a bunch of letters and numbers. Now my computer won't even turn on half the time. Sometimes just the fan will start the liquidation. Before what is going on started my computer would freeze and then turns off randomly. I called apple and I also took at the Genius Bar. They think maybe it's logic board. The Lady said that my best money wise option would be that she be sent for $280, more repairs before as I do that I wanted to see if anyone had any advice. At this point, I wonder if I should just get a new computer. I don't use the computer a lot to the point where this should be the case. Would it maybe a virus?

  I had a similar problem when I had my Zillion... This has worked great and synchronized to the logic but then after a few days it has stopped responding to the midi clock and I couldn't work out why.

  Fortunately, the solution is pretty simple once you know the trick...

  Do a hard reset while the Zillion is not connected to Midi...

  HARD RESET

  A hard reset will take care of all of the default settings just like the soft reset procedure, will also receive notes in all scales of the user to a height value of C2.

  Demarrer start with the power off, hold down the - key and switch on the device.

  Press and hold the - key until the display shows serial number units.
