Don't use windows movie maker vista, show no pictures on the storyboard feature
When I create a slideshow in Movie Maker Vista (Home Premium 6.0, service Pack2), the pictures show when I drag them down to create the show, but when I go to play on the table of Storyboard, no picture (black screen), even if you can see progress through executives? It allows to work - any ideas on how to solve this problem would be appreciated.
Try to convert pictures in .bmp format and reimport them.

change the time between each photo in movie maker vista
I am doing a slideshow using vista movie maker. I added music and it is great. BUT I can't change the length of time between each picture and the duration of transitions. I tried tools / options / and I can change out there, but it does not apply to my project. I also tried to do it manually but still no luck.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Maybe the following will help:
The change of setting to: Tools / Options /.
Advanced... tab applies only to the added photos
to the timeline * after * you change the setting. If you switch to view "Storyboard" and select
all the pictures in the form of batches (select one and the type...
CTRL + A)... you can add the 'Speed Up, Double.
or "Slow down, half" effect of changing the
duration. Simply select all clips / right click
the effect on the menu... Choose...
Add to storyboard table.'Speed Up, Double' cuts the duration of half.
"Slow Down, half ' double life.
These effects can be added up to six times.
If you need finer adjustment...
the info may be useful:To the timeline, you can change the

the same or greater than the length of the photo.

codec windows movie maker Vista problem
I have projects in movie maker that now I want to edit and publish, I can not because when I try to import these files the required codec is not installed? I have downloaded supposed codecs that work & they do not. I spent hours with tech support and no result short of my project!
Hey,.
Download and install the right codecs. Maybe your should try K-Lite Codec Pack Full 5.6.1:
K - Lite Codec Pack 5.6.1 Full, Standard and standard http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_lite_codec_pack.htm

Hey guys,.
I have been editing videos using Windows Movie Maker with great success, but I have recently installed the K-Lite Codec pack (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_codec_pack.htm)
and since then, Movie Maker will not load one of my projects.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the codecs but I feel I did something for the Movie Maker of the program itself, installing the codec pack, it came with a list of files it wanted to replace. As I obviously had no idea what I was doing, I just said yes to everything that was recommended. I don't know for the life of me exactly what files were etc however, it seems Director impact because now it does not load the project files.
It's such an embarrassment because I don't know what is happening and really need this problem as soon as POSSIBLE. Any help would be appreciated.

Can someone help me please?
Hello Karan139,
Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.
Have you went to "Device Manager" to check it's not a problem with the card? Have you tried to remove the drivers and reinstall? I found a link that specifies this problem and has more information that may be useful. Please let me know if this helped, or if you're still having problems.

I have 4 videos of September I want to include on 1 DVD. I also want to have every video available from the main menu, so people can pick and choose who they wish to watch. Is there an easy way to do this? Also, is there a way to put the chapters to EACH of the 4 videos? Thank you all for your time!

If you import the 4 video clips to DVD Maker... each of them becomes a scene (chapter). If you want each video clip to have scenes (chapters) you must import them into
Movie Maker and divide them into appropriate pieces and store each one individually
a folder on your hard drive to the WMV format. When you import the WMV files collected
in DVD Maker, each of them becomes a scene (chapter)... you can have up to 18 scenes.Volunteer - MS - MVP - Digital Media Experience J - Notice_This is not tech support_I'm volunteer - Solutions that work for me may not work for you - * proceed at your own risk *.

I made movies using Windows XP Movie Maker. Now, I want to open them in Vista Movie Maker 6.0, but get an error message saying: there is no codec to do.
How can I solve this problem?
Thank you.Jaturi,
These are the source files that I was referring to, however the .mswmm XP file is not an accountant with the Movie Maker Vista. If you were to move to another XP machine, you will need to have the same directory structure in place for the source files in order to make it work.Kind regards

I created a slide show movie maker in Windows Vista - but it will only play on the movie maker - cannot download on facebook; the burned DVD is not compatible with basic DVD players. Nothing does support that kind of file - how can I convert this file into something that can be shared and played on other devices.
