Codecs and video Formats

What is the difference between a video format and codec, such as PP, you can export something in format .mov with the h.264 codec, you can also export something using an H.264 format? Just trying to get clarification, so I could understand these things better.

    Hello Keith,

You can find a list of formats of audio and video files, the stream formats and codecs or the components supported in the Windows Store and RT Windows applications in this published Building Windows 8 Blog on MSDN.  The formats are summarized in a table in the middle of the article.  Please note that the table called some codecs that are supported in Windows Media Center 8 Pack or Windows 8 Pro Pack, but are NOT supported in Windows RT.

I'm sure that the answer is no, but I need to check if these formats are supported in DW or must be coded manually.  I know that HTML5 and Flash video are supported.

    Thank you!

HTML5 video is MP4, WEBM and OGG.

And Yes, the HTML5 video embed code is supported by DW CS6 and above.

Go to the menu insertion , HTML5 video.   Do not use the Flash.  It is a web technology dead.

    Hello

I am using windows 7 Home premium. my windows media player, I want the codecs which can play all kinds of video formats like flv, and everything... where I can get these codecs... is these codecs are recommended by microsoft...?

Microsoft not created for Windows Media Player codecs separately.

Today, there are hundreds of audio and video codecs in use. Codecs have been created by other companies, organizations or individuals. By default, the Windows operating system and the player includes a number of the most popular codecs, such as MP3, Windows Media Audio and Windows Media Video.

There might be times, however, when you want to read the content that is compressed with a codec that does not include Windows or the default player. In many cases, you can download the necessary codec on the web for free or for a fee. And, in some cases, the player can automatically use the codecs installed by other reading programs and the creation of digital media on your computer.

You can download one of the famous codec from the (improved) website below.

I doubt that this is possible because Bluray discs are mostly protected against copying.

    Thank you for your help

Sorry - I tried to decipher all that--I did.  I even reformatted to try to understand what your question was.  Out of all this - here's what I think will probably be your best solution (free, but a lot of time).

    Back up your data (pictures, music, documents, e-mails, contacts, spreadsheet, Internet favorites/bookmarks, executable installation and serial numbers and product keys, etc.) to support EXTERNAL - like CD, DVD< usb="" drive,="" etc. ="" anything="" that="" is="" not="" physically="" connected="" to="" that="" machine="" all="" the="" time="" and="" can="" be="" put="" in="" a="" safe="" place="" (like="" a="" safe)="" forever="" if="" need="" be="" and="" can="" be="" read="" on="" other="" systems="" in="" addition="" to="" the="" one="" in="" question.="" usb="" drive,="" etc. ="" anything="" that="" is="" not="" physically="" connected="" to="" that="" machine="" all="" the="" time="" and="" can="" be="" put="" in="" a="" safe="" place="" (like="" a="" safe)="" forever="" if="" need="" be="" and="" can="" be="" read="" on="" other="" systems="" in="" addition="" to="" the="" one="" in="">

System restore you have by default.  How to do this will be determined by the manufacturer of the machine and the model and the options you have when you bought it.  Could be a combination of keys to start, a menu in Windows option or even a CD/DVD set.  Whatever it is - follow these instructions to the letter to get the machine to her virgins "by default" State.

Once he's back to factory default state - Windows Update.  It will probably take a few reboots, etc - but better now than later.  Followed by the installation of your applications and others to use.  Make sure that those who are updates to their respective manufacturers as well.

-Restore your data you have backed up.

To get your computer sorted.  Questions from Google, etc. - those go elsewhere.  This isn't a Microsoft problem or even probably a problem with your specific computer.

One thing I'll tell you - if you come across something someone/thing ' a you indicating that your computer can be fixed with a simple program. It's a lie and you will have yourself and your wife the kind of trouble that of climbing is probably expensive and painful (mentally).  So ignore this type of waste.

  • Video formats with html 5 are like days VHS and Beta

    Hi once more;

I always try to get my site submitted to nine to work with video examples. The first site I made in 2009 was with Dreamweaver CS3 when video was not a big deal and all my examples worked fine, but now it's different.

In old messages I was told to flash video getaway because it was not used in the video most for most devices.  I should do more in html 5 and make your MP4 video.  Got it, but, still problems with some of the video of loading another story but they don't work in Firefox.  This browser requires ogg.  OK, changed it in ogg.  My questions are, if I have to put each format on a page that has 4 examples of my work, how the container so that it can understand what browser is being used and play this format? too many screens.

    I got it this way;

    < div class = 'video' >

    "< video src="video/imagerepair_1.mp4.mp4 "width ="400"height ="400"controls > < / video >

    "< video src="video/imagerepair_1.mp4.oggtheora.ogv "width ="400"height ="400"controls > < / video >

    < / div >

I have two screens for a film.  We'll play in Firefox with the other saying screen "video format or mime is not supported.

Second question;  If I have 4 different videos make a container for each?  I use "insert a div tag" to make the container.

    Thanks for your time.

Download the Pickle player.  I use it for 2 video sites. Pickle works in all browsers and web devices with a type of file (MP4 or M4V for the web).  Pickle also supports playlists and poster frames.   You can customize the skin with the CSS code or just use one of the default ones. It's super simple to deploy with a few lines of HTML code.  A ++

  • Other video formats/sizes/fps - Please HELP

    Hi, I need help.

I use Premiere Pro for about a month now, so I know the basics, but I'm still not an expert.

My problem is that the filming, I did (using Fraps) is 3 video formats:

    1. 640 x 400 with 120 FPS

    2. 720 x 450 with 120 FPS

    3. 1280 x 800 with 30 frames per second

I tried to put it all together in a sequence and edited the video sizes/formats so they are all good, but it seems to ruin the quality of the videos and also make blurry in places (especially when export). Now, my question is, if it is possible to have 3 all video formats into a single sequence without this ruin the quality?

I thought of evolution of the formats of the video before you import them into Premiere Pro, probably their scale reduction - just don't know if this is possible.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing that your sequence is set to 1280 by 800, if it is you will see reduced quality when enlarging the other clips of lower resolution to match his size. 640 will not be as clear as 1280 when it is developed to adapt to it.  In addition, I would like to look in what Codec you are exporting too. If you export to say the H.264 codec to 15 Mbits per second, you will experience loss of quality due to compression.

Here is a YouTube video explaining how to export on Premiere Pro sequences, I hope this will help your situation.

  • Sequence of pixelation and video output

    Hello

I have a project where I have original video pan within a smaller area of the sequence, a kind of Ken Burns effect.

My overview of the sequence happens very pixelated and this, any export of this video file.

I tried to export to MOV, AVI, FLV, MP4 and other formats, with different codecs, quality settings, binary and other - flow does not.

I also tried to make sequence with different codecs prior to export, the effects of pan and make a WMP - it comes out exactly the same.

Here's how it looks compared to the original video, if you look at the top line of the arms of the girl, you'll see what I mean:

    i.imgur.com/6IkGLez.jpg

This is how the export looks like for Quicktime:

    i.imgur.com/r53Pblm.jpg

I will appreciate if someone tells me why this is happening and how to remove the pixelation.

    Thank you!

    Ah ok.

Yes, create a new sequence with fields to which Progressive instead of low.

Copy and paste all of the old order in the new.

And sure, when rendering, you use no. fields / Progressive on your exports too (in your screen shot you have down)

  • Great Job Oracle, but why the Codec dead video?

I'm just curious to know the Oracles decision to not support only a relatively dead codec.
It is also not on the roadmap for JavaFx 2.0 support other codecs or container, such as the very common MP4.
I hope that Oracle does not feel it's less important than other features they have planned for javaFX 2.x.

To be honest, video capabilities is the only real reason I made the switch from JavaFX 2.0 old Java.
JavaFX has a huge potential when aligned with competitors IE 5 Silverlight and Adobe Air. Here's how:

JavaFX > Adobe Air, because somehow, at this time, Adobe does not feel Multithreading is a necessary complement to its development framework. Already tried generating a thread in AS3? :).

JavaFX > MS SilverLight, SilverLight has not supported multiple monitors and sucks for Out-Of-Browser applications. Also in true style microscope (because they do not always understand that it is an era of cross-compatibility), silverLight sucks on other platforms. While JavaFX is only under windows at the moment, at least we were promised. MS has not said a word about this.

JavaFX is ready to be the best framework to dev for the in the browser and OOB applications.

But the only serious thing that would have made JavaFX really perfect, was more video format support.
They argued in FX 1.x and I KNOW it's still on Gstreamer. I don't see even in the current roadmap is not very encouraging for me. Oracle needs to understand that they cannot be relaxed with this piece, otherwise, they have no share in this market, in that they intend to enter. It seams to me like a fairly easy reinstatement if it happened to Fx 1.X already.

Must be because GStreamer is a cross-platform solution that would provide the same user experience on platforms. It is true that VP6 is quite obsolete that it should not have been the codec 'by default'. I said Sun a few years ago while developing JavaFX 1.0 only: .h264) 1 was the codec everyone is using (e.g. blu - ray), 2) that the necessary runtime support developers adding our own codecs or suppliers of video sources that could fit under presentation of JavaFX. That is, we should be able to algorithmically generate a stream video for the media player and work seamlessly.

#2 at least would allow US a decent codec license and include it in our application JavaFX.
