  IM pretty sure I know the answer to this but wanted to confirm before buying.  We currently have 5 Enterprise VMware esxi 5.5 host with Vcenter.  We add 3 hosts more but don't need DRS on them, so we do not believe that we need Enterprise Edition on them.  So I would go with the Standard edition for 3 new guests.

  Im sure that I can use my Vcenter current server to manage the hosts for Enterrprise and Standard, I just can't put my Standard hosts in the same cluster as the guests of the company.

  But I want to make sure IM right about that or do need me really another Vcenter server to manage the Standard hosts?

• View dial - Enterprise or Standard?

  Just trying to get my head around this thing vmview together, we are looking at using a load of rays of the Sun to provide computers to users when we move offices, and I noticed something weird. If I want to use View Composer, I have to install it on the same PC as my vCenter, which is fine. However, if I want to run 2008 I have 2008, Enterprise Edition installed, whereas with 2003, it will work fine with standard or enterprise. Why is this?  Does anyone run composer view 2008 standard R2?

  There has been several discussions on this issue already. You can use 2008 R2 Standard without problem. Personally, I spoke with VMware Support on this issue and was informed that it was a supported configuration.

• Live monitoring for ColdFusion MX Enterprise

  We have just improved ColdFusion MX 7 Professional for the Enterprise Version. It seems that there is no support for victory performance monitor, to live to control single server instances (we use win2003 server, ms sql2k). Then someone could give some tips how to achieve such a thing? We thought about jrun metrics, but struggeling with visualization of these surveillance data. Also, it would be good to monitor some specific values notify administrators in case of problems.

  The performance monitor option is disabled in the J2EE Configuration... You must go for some products like "Seefusion" or "Vantage" If you want to keep track of performance...

  Hi and welcome to communities,

  HA and DRS are separate functions and do not need to work.

  So HA without DRS is going to do what HA is supposed to do (or what you set up to do)

  If your host goes down, the virtual machines running on it will remain so and will be restarted on the remaining hosts in the cluster.

• CFMX8 - Enterprise or Standard to use the DataDirect JDBC drivers?

  Simple question here, I hope? I am migrating an application to CFMX8. This application will connect to Informix. The best performance I've seen so far to make use of DataDirect JDBC driver. I know, it's creates a DataDirect JDBC driver provided with CFMX. What I don't know is why it seems CF somehow restricts access to this driver for Enterprise edition? Here are the steps that I did.

  Standard SQL 2012 Enterprise edition migration is not a supported scenario. Even from 2012 to 2014 enterprise SQL standard SQL is not supported.

  You can raise the rear of the SQL Enterprise 2012 data, uninstall SQL server and do fresh install of the SQL Standard 2012/2014 edition and import the data, it is a just solution.

  A license key is specific to a particular version. CF9 keys do not work with CF11. You will need new license keys.

  I am currently looking for coldfusion application development. I am also looking for search engine software to use on my site like web anylitics. I have read that coldfusion 9 enterprise has a verity search engine and mentioned something about web statistics.

  Is the verity search engine effective? It's a strong autonomous search for a site of medium size engine?

  What type of information on the web the anylitics built it offers? What are the most popular pages users hit? In addition, the pages users never go too?

  Can coldfusion 9 enterprise effectively address all my needs?

  Not by default, the current version.  Or at least, you will need to configure your network to allow Google's servers through firewall machines of the intranet customer information.

  But, most likely, you would seek to a unit of Google Google rental to companies wishing to obtain Google analytic on intranet sites.  Just note that this is not a free option like the public more analytical which is currently taken advertising supported.

• 11 serving .cfm files download ColdFusion

  We started with a working instance of Windows Server 2007 R2 by using IIS 7 with Coldfusion 9 Enterprise Edition installed that hosts several sites (in fact its still running now).  Make an exact copy of it to a new instance.  It worked just like the old, we did if we could only cross each localhost site as the old areas have not been transferred to the course to point to the new server.  We uninstalled Coldfusion 9 Enterprise Edition and then installed Coldfusion 11 Standard Edition.  This of course is where things started going horribly wrong.

  Install a new using the Coldfusion Web Server Configuration we have added all sites. At first nothing just worked.  always 500 errors.

  Multiple tries deletion and adding sites via configuration manager did not work, then we noticed that Coldfusion 9 was not properly uninstalled and deleted its vestiges of IIS.  AboMapperCustom is still listed in the mappings of the whole site.  Force removed a cycle more Manager config Coldfusion and coldfusion (more on that later) files seemed to be served correctly upward.

  Then we started adding data sources.  Pulled up a site (via localhost) who has used one of the datasources and got a 500 error.  Got a late race around searching the web for solutions, come to find that wasn't even CFIDE/Administrator.  More hair pulling later updated Coldfusion to update 11 7 (made in 3 if I remember correctly).  127.0.0.1/CFIDE/Administrator started working at least. Removed and added sites through Coldfusion config manager again. Obtained the general http://localhost/ work, CFIDE/Administrator does not (does not accept http verb post, even if its properly configured to do this everywhere where we can find).  Could not find a good solution for any where then as a test we tried browsing the site to go to another page and that is when we started to receive the .cfm served as a download.  These files served in this way are neither text pure files cfm or html with a bad headers files confusing IE.  They have coded a text editor cannot read the data.

  I saw zero solutions of working on the web to do this, which is rare.

  It seems weird but as I initially used IIS to remove AboMapperCustom mappings Manager and set up the first web with accessPolicy = 'Read', Script in it was the result.  This time I made a backup of the old web, deleted configuration, had THEY do a new, removed AboMapperCustom again through IIS, because he appeared again and broke everything, resulting in the web config 2.  Now everything seems to work again.  Even the strange CFIDE/Administator post verb http error, we got before.

  This leaves here for other people with this problem.

  If run you a Web site only, and are not doing any grouping of ColdFusion and using Enterprise features only (you will have to consider to characteristic matrices one to see what is enterprise only), then you should be fine with the standard.  There are two ways to migrate your settings.  If you create a CAR of CF9 admin file, you should be able to import into CF11.  Just make sure you install CF11 first as a trial (serial number) and in stand-alone mode.  Then import the CAR, then once all parameters have been correctly migrated, put in the serial number Standard.

• ColdFusion 9 ODBC Agent and ODBC Server will start not

  I currently have Coldfusion 9 Enterprise Edition 64 bit installed on a 64 bit Windows 2008 R2 server.  I have not noticed this before, but on this server, the Agent of ODBC Coldfusion 9 services & the server will not start.  I tried from them but they begin one second and then stops.  A dialog box then gets poster that says "service of Coldfusion 9 ODBC Agent on Local computer started and then stopped.  Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs".  I checked the event viewer on the server and I see the following messages on the enterprise edition server.

  The description for event ID 0 in source ColdFusion 9 ODBC Agent cannot be found. Either the component that triggers this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

  If the event is on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

  The following information has been included in the event:

  ColdFusion 9 ODBC Agent@LOCALHOST,ErrorCode=430,ErrorMessage=Failed to open the trace file of events because the version of the file is not recognized.

  The description for event ID 0 in source ColdFusion 9 ODBC Server cannot be found. Either the component that triggers this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

  If the event is on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

  The following information has been included in the event:

  ColdFusion 9 ODBC Server@LOCALHOST,ErrorCode=430,ErrorMessage=Failed to open the trace file of events because the version of the file is not recognized.

  Strange is that I have Coldfusion 9 Standard Edition 64-bit also installed on another server in Windows 2008 R2 64-bit, and both ODBC services on this machine start very well.  I checked the account that these services are running under on two servers and two services on both machines are running under the local system account, so I don't know if this is related or not permission.

  I would appreciate it if some could help me get these services began and what I have to do.

  For someone who is interested, I solved this problem by deleting all .trc files in the C:\ColdFusion9\db\slserver54\tracing folder.  Once this is done, I was able to start the ODBC ODBC & Server Agent services.
