  Hello
  I am struck with another big challenge here. There's a system that creates tons of PDF files on the oracle UNIX server, then these files are loaded into oracle as a data blob table. Now the Apex ive page which provides links to these pdf reports and allow users to download and save locally in their systems.
  Now, my biggest problem is that when the files are created in the directory of the UNIX server that is mapped to the oracle directory object when you open these files/download of Apex they are corrupt and cannot be read. Is there a way pdf files can be directly loaded into oracle as BLOB table without using the oracle directory object... any suggestion/solution to this problem please?

  This approach is going to be good in this scenario but look at this simple code under iam having error (no data found) with get_pdf(), but I know a file is created and can be stored in the directory, what could be the problem here in this small code?

  Insert a blob into table

  When you use get_pdf, you must also call to save_pdf. Simply remove this line and it should work:

  Why do you insist that I use Akamai Download Manager (which I hope is never downloaders) in order to download anything?

  Based on the advice of others, I tried to bypass it by clicking on the link "file 1 of 1.  But that does not give me the CF 11 installation file.  It still links to "Adobe ColdFusion 11 - AkamaiDLM.exe".

  WHY CAN'T I DOWNLOAD ANYTHING WITHOUT THE DLM?

  How does a fault the 'dialog Save as name,' the actual name of the file requested?

  The content-disposition header can be used to specify the name of the file. You can find several examples in the documentation for cfcontent (see bottom of page)

• Problem with .cfm files

  I just started working with coldfusion8 in Dreamweaver 8.  I installed coldfusion as a built-in web server.  I created a simple couple of .cfm files to check if everything works OK.  First time around, I can see my files display properly in the browser but when I make a change to the file in Dreamweaver, place the file in a folder C:\coldfusion\wwwroot/newland and retry the file in the browser, the file does not display my changes.

  I checked that my modified file is indeed downloading c; \coldfusion\wwwroot\newland.

  In dreamweaver, if I change the name of the file and try again to view in the browser, the file is displayed correctly with all the changes.  If I make other changes in the file, but keeping the same file name, the changes are not displayed.

  I was home for many hours to fix this problem without success.  I'd appreciate any help.

  Hello Mohan,

  I faced the same problem even when you use DWcs3, to resolve this problem, do not define two folders of your CF application; on the contrary, make the local site the same as the server site (same way; same folder). Then you can press F12 and you can test your CFM pages without problem; It works, but if you insists on doing a local copy and the server copy, I advice you then define another asks test CF objective and if it happened that you can preview your changes made your coldfusion server is busy with the other application to launch (you can keep in your browser preferred instead of switching continuous between the application). It is because the jrun uses your page and prevents you to erase or overwrite the changes you made.

• I'm filling a Russian visa and when I try to open the file to print, the message is cfm file and asks me to find an application to open it but none will.

  Visa guard download for print or save file but I can't open it. A box opens asking me to choose an application to open the cfm file.

  It is most likely a server problem, not a browser problem. Web server, processing of your visa application is probably not correctly configured to manage scripts (.cfm files) of cold fusion. I suggest that you contact regardless of the authorities you need to obtain the documents that you can complete manually, or alert the server administrator web management of the visa application. Yet once, most likely a server problem, not a browser issue.

• CF9 Standard / iis 7.5.  .Jsp process as a .cfm file

  I inherited links ending in .jsp.  The domain now points to my standard cf9 / iis7.5 web server.

  When I tried to open the my version of the .jsp file or perform a url rewriting, I received an error which is not the case of the homologated JSP Standard edition.

  However, I don't want to run a jsp as a model of jsp page.  I would like that it works as a .cfm file.  Or ignore the file completely so I can use a url rewriting to point to my cfm file.

  I tried to disable JSP from the files by default - web.xml.  I now get an error 403: Forbidden.

  What else to do to prevent the recognition of jsp Coldfusion files?

  The problem has been resolved.

  The first step was to disable *.jsp references all the files by default - web.xml.

  Then apply a url rewriting. ^(.*) $ JSP which redirects to cfm {R:1} {R:2}

• Difficulties to download ColdFusion 11 test - Akamai fatal error: access denied

  I have trouble downloading the trial/developer of CF 11 edition. I use IE 11 on a laptop computer of 'company' on which I temporary admin access. Yesterday, I followed some instructions on the help of download (compatibility setting for adobe.com) and managed to get the Akamai Downloader installed. "I got a prompt asking where to download (SEE download), but when he started to download after a while I got a message in the Downloader of Akamai" Akamai Download Manager has encountered a fatal error: access denied ". There is a link "download files directly click here file 1 of 1" but that doesn't seem to do anything (in fact if I right click on it and open in a new window it gives me just the Downloader Akamai even with unrecoverable error message).

  Try again today, I do not get a prompt to find out where to download the file, just the "fatal error" message in Akamai. And I tried the direct link with no success. Everything tried several times on.

  I just downloaded ColdFusion Builder 2 and insatll on my computer and the server for the new Setup project.

  I have not C:\ColdFusion 9 on my computer, when I wanted to add a server.

  It seems that I have to install ColdFusion Server to try to create a new project.

  Am I wrong? Can I use IIS as my local web server and tests?

  If I need ColdFusion Servver so where do I download and install and test on my local machine.

  Yes, that would be one of these devices requires a ColdFusion server. You cannot view what will look like a page without a server in order to treat it, right?  If you need to install and configure a local CF server, or connect to a remote server (which would require the files to download).

  In general, if someone wants to use the tabs in FireFox and IE, they will have a local server installed and configured CF.

  Once you have a CF server ready to go you can however connect your project by right-clicking the project and choosing "Properties". There, you can add a new server and assoiate with a project.

• Get the name/path of current .cfm file...

  I'll make a script of "tracking" for a Web site.  My idea is to add a < CFINCLUDE > to each server the .cfm file (at the very end, it would be easier to remove when im done), and have the included script add a record to a database containing the path/file name of the .cfm file.  for example, index.cfm will include trackscript.cfm, and after the treatment the index.cfm a database will be a record in this container path/name of the file to index.cfm.

  I'm new to coldfusion, but I think that I got it, except on the way to get the name of the file that will be added to the database.  is there some kind of function or variable available that will give me the name of the file running .cfm?

  GetCurrentTemplatePath() will give you the absolute path of the current CFM file.

  You have actually installed ColdFusion on your web server. ColdFusion is running? (Check services) If so, what type of web server are you running? IIS? Apache?

  To install Firefox on a Mac, follow these steps:

  1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
  2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).

  4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:

• FTP connects successfully, but no file download

  I have Dreamweaver CS4. I connect to the server successfully and download files without any errors, but never files on the server at GoDaddy. This problem started when I updated to Windows 10.

  I also have sites with JustHost and I have no problem downloading files on this server. If it is not a firewall issue.

  I talked to technical support at GoDaddy and they said I'm all good. So I downloaded FileZilla and I can upload it to the server without any problem.

  I uninstalled and re-installed Dreamweaver, but it did not help.

  Could there be a corrupted file when I switched to Windows 10 that is causing problems? Very difficult to diagnose the problem since I get no error.

• File downloaded (via front-end) created as a Media Download (literature point)?

  Is it possible to have a file downloaded (via a form or webapp on the front-end site edit form) to be stored/created as a Media Download (literature point)? Or if not, is it possible to secure a file that has been downloaded on the front-end server (by 'trust' I mean impossible to access outside a secure area)?

  My goal is to have customers upload files in their secure area and to maintain safety on the downloaded file so that others cannot access it. I don't see that this will be possible, but I hope someone might have creative ideas to work around.

  No, bad choice of wording by support staff.

  So no, you CAN NOT do a media download the item on the front-end server as Adam wanted.

  You can make a web application that accepts article submissions web app and have a file download the component. This requires a selection of folder, it is the names of files that are not non-sensiques and impossible to use on the front-end and web presentation app requires you to be logged on to the website to do.

  The other method of course if via web forms that settle on a deal and are not available outside access to the admin.
