  So, I have a basic actionscript code.  It is a heritage site, so I use AS2.  The line of code is simply this:

  myField.text = "text".

  So I select the text field on the stage, and then make sure that the police is incorporated.  All the glyphs I want are checked, but then when I compile and test, the fonts do not appear when the code is executed.  Instead, the TextField is empty!  That's happened?  Where the text is?

  I should mention that the .swf that I compile is loaded in another parent .swf during execution.  If that parent .swf contains no fonts embedded, which is why it broke?  I'll try, but I just wanted to see if anyone can give some advice for troubleshooting.

  Yes.   the main swf file must incorporate this policy.

  Assuming you are using Acrobat Pro, you can use Acrobat Preflight or Pitstop to incorporate fonts assuming you have the fonts Times New Roman installed on your system.

  Go to the character Panel (window > Type & Tables > characters)

  There is a submenu at the top right of this Panel.

  Check if the ligature is checked on or off - and this toggle switch.

  Not sure it's relevant, but Firefox has a feature of accessibility called the keyboard navigation that moves the cursor in the document. You can disable this option in the Preferences dialog box.   This could be linked to the "keyboard navigation" function, which moves the cursor on the page when you scroll with the arrow. Or maybe in this case jumps around things on the page.

  You can enable the use:

  • F7 key
  • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced > general mini-onglet > uncheck the box 'always use the buttons cursor to navigate through the pages.
