Color shifted in iPad vs MacPro/MacBook Pro 17

I had created file CMYK in Adobe Illustrator CS6 for visit/logo card, etc. I placed the file have in InDesign CS6 card holders (two pages) document.

High quality printing to PDF, then exit card from InDesign document. Just out of curiosity, I opened the file print CMYK on my iPad 2 and quickly noticed that the color shifted sightly on iPad 2 in contrast on MacBook Pro 17 unibody and Mac Pro - base 12.

I suspect it has much to do with CMYK color management setting on preflight InDesign export to PDF?

Just tell me what exactly I did wrong? Am I assuming that the color change is due to CMYK is not interpreted correctly on iPad, only RGB, correct?

Thanks for any help and comments. And please confirm if I guess wrong or right. And tell me why I think wrong. Or if I'm right, or both? If I can help out in the right approach.

I can't wait to hear some views. Have a good.

Best, Brian

(1) it has no color management available on any mobile device that I know.

(2) any communication to the viewing on screen must remain in RGB because it's native color space of monitors, Tablet screens, etc.

  • iPad Air keeps the beep when I connect it to my MacBook Pro 15 retina.

Hi, I have connected my Air iPad to my MacBook Pro 15 new retina and it maintains to the beep on and outside.

It is a problem, I only experience with my MacBook Pro with two USB ports. When I connect the iPad to my MacPro, it works fine: it loads and sync successfully.

I also have an iPhone 6, which works very well with my MacPro and MacBook Pro.

If the two USB ports have the same problem?

If you have used any other processor of professional quality (for example, Microsoft Word), and then just go ahead and use the current culture of free (financially) applications on devices you mention. It will not take too long before you understand point Apple of giving them. No application in the world can open documents Pages but the most recent version.

Free will begin to erode when Pages for Mac forget how to open a perfectly fine document that you saved an hour or two ago. Or you realize you have to press the SHIFT key every time you want a first word in a sentence. Or you can not bind the text boxes to the text layout advanced stream. Or you can't do data merge / e-mail. Table of contents page links or comments will not export to PDF.

Pages is not a clone of Word, and you'll quickly realize that Pages input/export deal with the translation. Open a blank document. Type the letter "A". Export to Word .docx. It will be 494KO in size. Do the same thing in LibreOffice or MS Word and it will be 8 KB.

  • FaceTime and Messages "not responding" MacBook Pro but works on iPhone Plus 6 and 3 Mini iPad

In January, I sent a text message with a very large number of numbers through Messages on the Macbook Pro.  Since then, it will be not open without the reel spinning of Messages and FaceTime, the system fan going at top speed and the computer slows down considerably until I Force Quit or other software.  I have zero problems on the iPhone or iPad with either.

I've already removed the library of Messages and attachments, and this seems to have actually exacerbated the problem.

I did a complete reinstallation of the operating system (El Capitan), and it had zero effect.

My guess is that these two very large text messages are the culprits, and I can't understand how to reset all messages.  I'm happy to delete all, if I can get somehow my Macbook to recognize what has happened.  Otherwise, I am at my wits end, trying to get these two applications to work again.  I'm quite the newbie, so please refer to measures as simply as possible.  (Btw - the texts were a legitimate response to a follow-up request, and I hoped just don't have to send them all individually in case of FAILURE)

Thanks for any help you can offer, Apple!

Get the computer. iPads are portable accessories for use with a computer. They cannot replace the computer.

  • Restore the MacBook Pro vs purchase delivered to new/New MacBook or IPad

    My problem:

    * Have a MacBook Pro 15 "Intel Core 2 Duo 2009 2.4 ghz 250 GB (large pirchas at the time I was a designer)

    * Original hard drive has been replaced in 2012 after son magnets 'snake egg' on this subject and fried the original (was functional but not the same since)

    * Screen has a hairline crack from corner to corner (manageable)

    * Keypad functions are limited, and respond only to the no taps, no clicks (easy to manage but a pain in the *)

    * Battery will not hold a charge and needs to be plugged in to operate and even then sometimes stops

    * Only 1 of the 2 USB ports work

    * Always running 10.6.8 (did not lose time or money, the upgrade because of hardware problems and because that until recently I have not used it much) but now everything I try to do does not work because the operating system is so obsolete.

    * I teach now and my school district provides PCs w I don't need a cpu work.

    * I need a processor separate from work for everything (family photos, videos, music, etc., etc.) as well as a, I can always do a casual on freelance design project.

    * Im on a salary of public school teachers

My question (s) (based on the above):

    * It is better the time/money/headache to try to update/restore/repair my MacBook or better to buy something new?

    * If I buy something again need me necessarily a MacBook or an iPad would correspond to my needs? Whatever it is, you have a model that you would suggest?

First post here so that I'm not in the right place. Your patience and any info u maybe would be appreciated!

    I'm inclined to say no.

I suggest that you go to an Apple store and inspect was available and have an idea of what they can do to meet your needs.  I looked carefully at a Macbook Air.  Less expensive than a Macbook Pro and a lot better than what you now have.

When a decision has been taken, look in the section renovated from the Apple store online and enjoy some savings.  The units are as new with the same warranty as the 'new '.

    Ciao.

  • Update of the MacBook Pro for iPad Pro?

I'm looking to replace my MacBook Pro (MBP) for a new iPad Pro. Apart from the obvious differences that exist between operating systems, i.e. OSX El Capitan vs iOS (9)

Are there specific functions or tasks that cannot be performed on an iPad Pro, which can be done on the MBP?

When it comes to streaming music (Spotify) and video (Youtube, Netflix, Amazon, BBC iplayer etc), will all these without downloading additional software, Flash drives or iOS apps for the iPad?

Any constructive comments will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Most OS X applications with versions of iOS will have reduced functionality located in iOS (for example. (Pages, Numbers, MS Office applications).  iOS is now supported split screen for some applications (not all), but it offers no true multitasking. iOS supports NO FLASH - never has and probably never will be.  Some 3rd party browsers or proxy subscription services offer alternatives to that, but it's not exactly a replacement for FLASH native.  It's the same for Java applications.

iOS is not addressable accessible file system or cross-app of the user, as OS X.  iOS apps are sandboxed to sand and largely unable to interact with eachother or every-other data.

Honestly, even though I love my iPad Pro and use every day for staff and job tasks, it is NOT a true replacement for a desktop computer / laptop.  If your use is very specifically limited to certain iOS apps or certain types of applications that are very conducive to a tablet OS, you should be fine with just an iPad, but if not, you will find you want always a laptop or desktop computer, at least for certain tasks or the types of applications.

Please also note, that iOS devices, like any electronic mass storage, must be saved if you care about your data at all.  Without a computer, your only backup option is to iCloud online backups.  Solutions available iCloud for photography, however, NO do not replace true or complete for archiving your photos elsewhere for guard - should photo be archived elsewhere (computer, another Cloud Computing service) regardless of your choice of iCloud photo service (s).  A computer is a perfect solution for a backup of redundant iOS device using iTunes and iCloud for backups.  A computer is also required to restore an iOS device in the case of a corrupt system, update, install or some other potential recoverable occsionally disaster.

  • Should I get a Macbook Pro or an iPad Pro to use for the next two years while I do my A-Levels?

    Hi all!

So I am currently doing my GCSE, I'm looking to my future at school aka Sixth Form (A-Levels). I won't be carrying massive files that weigh tons and can easily broken / lost files kept in the breast, as do the current year. However, I checked with my school and they say that you can use the technology as an alternative. Instantly I thought to Apple, since I love their products and buy regular. I have a Apple Watch, 6 s iPhone and an iPad 2 Air (we sell) but I want something new and powerful, I can use for Sixth Form.

So my question is, should I get a Macbook (any model) or a Pro iPad with accessories?

    I take:

Technical design - so should run CAD, Word, be fundamentally powerful and able to have sketches.

Media Studies - must be able to manage several videos 4K and execution of things such as Word, books, and iMovie.

Geography-Easy access to the internet anywhere, possibility to draw diagrams and just to run applications etc and be good at watching documentaries, etc.

Mathematics - internet access and video on good quality, easily be able to write notes and information.

So which one should I buy? Please can you help me

Given your needs, a MacBook Pro seems to be more appropriate.

    Greetings brsm1990,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

I understand that your iOS devices can see each other with the help of parachuting, but your Mac does not see them. To begin troubleshooting, I suggest you read the information in the following article.

Use AirDrop to send the contents of your Mac - Apple Support

    Tips for sending items

If you do not see the recipient in the AirDrop window or sheet:

    • Make sure that the two devices have on AirDrop and are less than 30 feet (9 meters) on the other.
    • If you send to an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch:
      • Your Mac must be a 2012 model or newer with OS X Yosemite or later.
      • The iOS device must use iOS 7 or later and have Personal Hotspot disabled in settings > cellular.
    • If you send a Mac:
      • If the receiver Mac uses OS X Mavericks, Cougar or Lion, then open a window AirDrop: choose go > AirDrop in the menu in the Finder bar.
      • If the receiver Mac is a 2012 model or, click "Don't see you looking?" in the drop window or the sharing of the sending of the Mac spreadsheet. Then click on "Search for an older Mac."
      • Know if the Mac has "block all incoming connections" enabled in the security and privacy preferences. A Mac does not receive items using AirDrop if this setting is enabled.
    • If AirDrop on the receiving device is set up to receive points of contacts only, make sure that the two devices are connected to iCloud. Also make sure the associated e-mail address or phone number to your identifier Apple is in the Contacts application on the receiving device.

  • Works very well with the iPad, stutters badly with Macbook Pro

Work fine with the iPad but stutters badly when using Macbook Pro OSX Version 10.11.4 El Capitan

We need more in detail here, please.

I'm assuming that you are referring to AirPlay of these devices. You are AirPlaying video, music or using mirroring of the screen?

If you are mirrored, others may comment on OS X settings to make this work.

  • Use the iPad pro as a second screen on a Macbook Pro 2009 with OSX running on it.

    Hello
I am to buy an iPad Pro and I would like to know if there is a chance that it might be connected as a second monitor on a Macbook Pro 2009 running Mac OS x Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    M.

    Hello

You cannot connect them with wires. You can, however, all these 2 combinations of applications, use using your wifi home network:

    http://Lifehacker.com/the-best-second-screen-app-for-iPad-1706351639

    http://getidisplay.com/

However, they all need two OS 10.9 (Mavericks) or later, which means that the configuration is not possible under Snow leopard.

Your Macbook Pro supports the latest OS X (El capitan), you can update, although it will significantly slow down your computer as well unless you add an SSD.

    See you soon,.

    Hi Houston1863,

I understand that you want videos you have on your MacBook Pro to add to your iPad.  Synchronization is a way to do it, but if you've never synced to your iTunes library before, you will get the message that you see.  The first thing I would say is that you back up your iPad if you do not already so.

Then try a different approach to file sharing between your devices.  It is called AirDrop, and here's how it works:
