Color side by side comparison

Hello

I would like to know what is used in Premiere Pro and AE for the side by side comparison to the color correction. At the FCC, there is something called view frame

Thank you

A "reference monitor" may also be useful.

It can be opened from a number of places in the BODY According to what you need to do.

There is no menu command or button, but if you just click the delete key, the selected photo will be removed (you will be prompted and offered the option to delete the file from you hard disc as well).

  • Filter of color/side/Label/genre always grayed out?

In my LR 3.2 (Windows 7 64), orders of the submenu sub filter by color, side, Label, genre are still grayed out, regardless of the source (even with a new catalogue) or catalog. See the screen capture below. I know that I can activate filters and get this functionality by other means. But the menus are practical. Am I missing something painfully obvious? The aid does not seem to help.

    John,

It seems that these filters can only be selected when the attribute filter is active in the filter bar (or by choosing 'Activate the filters' in the same menu).

  • No tool straighten or batch or side by side comparison?

Why some of the utilities available in 7 elements important don't CS5? Is not Adobe assume that many customers of CS will be upgrading items and expect the same or better features that come with elements relatively good markets? Or will I be stupid, (it is not the first time.) by failing to find these things in CS5. Here's what I don't have:

Straighten tool. In elements, you draw a line through a peak and elements make this horizontal line and crop the photo as little as possible to the place of the photo. It's so easy and fast compared to the crop tool. Is there a better way than the crop tool to level with the horizon pictures or something plump as a pole CS5?

Batch processing. Items will take a lot of pictures from a file and change, like resolution, for example, and add sharpening or other options and save them in a file that I called. CS5 and bridge don't do that? Why not?

Side compared to one side in order to select the photo? Elements 8 organizer has this wonderful function and from the window you can easily navigate between countless photos. Also in the window, you can assign stars, make some changes, quickly zoom in and zoom out. It's a great way to select the best photos. I know that it's a matter of bridge, but given that the bridge is the file for CS management tool.

I love some of the features of CS5 as quick access and selecting layers on the right side and the content is up-to-date, but I'm surprised that some of the wonderful features in elements are not included in CS5 whatever it takes seven times as much.

Am I missing something? It seems to me that Adobe has separate teams for items and for CS5 and they communicate with each other because they hate.

    Straighten

Use the ruler tool and choose address in the options bar. Cancel after selection straighten If you want to manually crop the right picture resulting.

    Batch processing

Bridge or Photoshop you can batch files easily. Use automate > batch of tools and PS > PS > lot of the bridge. If you run the Image Processor script, you can quickly resize and reuse files and even apply an action after resizing on each image. If you explain a bit more on what you want to achieve with the batch we can definitely help you with that.

    Side by side

Bridge allows multiple images in the preview pane - just select them in the content pane. I am relatively familiar with the elements, but perhaps also consultation in Bridge mode has a bit of what you're looking for. In Bridge, space will toggle preview full-screen, and in this mode, by clicking on the image will quickly zoom 100% mode.

Of my modest experience with the elements that I have yet to see better PS but I'm sure it's mostly a matter of familiarity, and you will need to familiarize yourself with the PS (just in time for the CS6 upgrade).

  • Color correction, split screen comparison

I'm looking for a way to color correct a Multiclip composed of 3 angles of an interview.

I have a split screen, I can match colors from one angle to another.

FCP was a thing where you could split the screen and the select part of the screen as last edition, the next edition, to the point, etc.

I don't see that in the first to make a split-screen comparison of the CC on and outside.

  • What is the best way to clear up the brightness of that horse without affecting the color?

    Screen shot 2012-12-30 at 6.41.55 AM.png

    Hi Matt-

Unfortunately, the image you are working with a lot of solid black color data - this means that there is not much variation in tone to work with, as you expect to. However, I have provided a few steps below for you to experiment.

1 using the quick selection tool, select only the area of the photo you want to brighten up - in this case, I chose the horse.

    2. go in Select > refine edge...

3 use the tools to improve the outline to adjust your selection as needed (I would recommend clicking on the RADIUS Smart option).

    4. your selection active, click the fill/adjustment layer icon and select the curves. You can select other options in this menu as well if the curves does not give you the desired effect.

    5. set your curves (or other adjustments) for the look desired as you'd like.

    6. with your selected adjustment layer, click on the blending Mode dropdown at the top of the layers panel, and then select lighten (Alternatively, you can try any other mode of mix that gives you the look you want or brightness).

    7. below, you can see a side-by-side comparison of the images of the horse before and after. Because the black areas of the horse contains data of uniform color, there is no change. However, the bright sections of the horse became brighter and more dynamic while maintaining the tone of the original colors.

If you want more information, here are two resources advanced on the change of the brightness of a picture:

I hope this helped - if you need more help, feel free to post again. Good luck!

  • How the color of a photo to be identical to another

I want to change the orange color of this button:bg-button.gif

for blue dark (top) this logo,photo-main.png

How would I do that? I'm not familiar with photoshop, please show me the detailed steps if possible, thank you

    Hello

Below are instructions on how to recreate the effect of gradient of the orange button use the dark blue of the logo. It is difficult to change the color of a gradient flattened as orange in the button. However, recreating the button is a fairly simple process.

Step 1: open the button and logo in Photoshop.

Step 2: Go to the image of the logo and select the Eyedropper tool from the toolbar, highlighted below. Then, click on the blue color in the logo.

Step 3: go back to the image of the button and go to your layers panel. Create a new layer using the icon below.

Step 4: In the toolbar, select the Paint Bucket tool, located at the base of the Eraser tool. If you don't see it, click and hold on the gradient tool and a submenu should be released. With the selected paint bucket tool, click on the area of canvas to fill it with the color blue dark logo.

Step 5: create a new layer Panel layers using the same process as step 3.

Step 6: Click and hold on the Paint Bucket tool and select the tool gradient in the toolbar, as shown below.

Step 7: At the top of your window, you should see the menu of the gradient tool. Select a transparent linear gradient, using the settings below.

Step 8: Click on the sample of dark drunk in your toolbar to bring up the color picker dialog box. Drag the white circle in the field of color to the upper left to select white. When you are finished, click OK.

Step 9: You can now apply the gradient by clicking and dragging upwards above the button. Hold SHIFT on your keyboard when you drag to create a perfectly vertical line. To create the gradient below, I started just outside the canvas area and stopped in the middle of the button. This may take a few tries - if you make a mistake, press Ctrl-Z (Windows) or command + Z (Mac) on your keyboard to cancel.

Step 10: Now that you have your gradient, go to the layers panel and use the Opacity slider in the upper right of the layers panel to reduce the opacity of the gradient.

Step 11: You can now remove the orange button layer by selecting the layer by clicking on the Delete icon below.

There you go! You can now save your button and use it as you want. If you need to change the color, simply select the dark blue layer and use the paint bucket tool to fill it with the color of your choice. Below, I have included a side-by-side comparison with the original orange button.

If you have any questions or need any clarification, just ask!

    Good luck!

These two simple things slowing down my design process. If anyone can help me out here, it will be great. I really need a solution to this.

You are comparing apples and oranges, that's why he organizers can't make sense for you.

The Photoshop document that you are working is in RGB color Mode and the Illustrator document that you are working is CMYK.

One is light the other is the ink pigments.

Screenshots of the same fill gradient in Illustrator is RGB and the other converted to CMYK.

No matter what you do get ofn the screen actually colors when printing on EIA will much duller on paper but as human beings, we tend to compensate for this, until you make a side by side comparison so all the beautiful coloryou see nature CMYK print is mostly in the mind's eye.

    Here is for your self

    CMYK (same converted document.)

Tim has manipulated the colorful side of the tab of this Q.

If you ask about the text than the tabs labels, they are all the same.

If you really want and can settle their definition at run time, you can use

  • What is the best way to match the Pantone PMS to CMYK color swatches?

I am looking at colors Pantone swatch book for coated solid colors, but he should know that the best way is to match, as closely as possible, a tone direct Pantone CMYK color. Is it possible to see these side by side? or is there an equivalency in the book of PMS, as I remember them to be in the print version of the Pantone book (which also showed formulations of ink for different tones,) which shows the percentages of CMYK equivalents to better match a Pantone color? It would be better to be able to see the place and the CMYK colors side by side on the screen.

It would be better to be able to see the place and the CMYK colors side by side on the screen.

N ° it would be preferable to see the task ink and CMYK process inks-by-side on paper.

It's why printed swatch books exist. I don't like what type of monitor you have, it won't look like a spot color ink. Period.

Glow of monitors. Ink on paper doesn't work. The human eye is incredibly adjustable; So really can't trust your own eyes when you look at a monitor.

Any monitor you use, it's always show you RGB. He can't do CMYK, and of course, he can't spot color.

So when the game is so dang critical, you must have a hand book of shade printed Pantone and process printed swatch book. And the two swatch books are on a similar document.

And if you expect to find perfect matches, you need to understand something very basic: many spot inks have no exact match to CMYK. You have to make Judgment calls.

  • Comparison and sorting of raw (NEF) & JPG in LR

I am interested in importing raw and jpg and then comparing them.

I want to apply different effects on the raw files to see if I can match or better the JPGs, returned by the camera

    (I use the Nikon).

    Background:

In the past, I used L:R to view my Nikon NEF files side by side with the camera JPG files and discovered the amazing versatility of the NEF files to solve problems in the image files and so I always preferred to work with RAW files.

But I recently read a discussion of NikonView (or maybe it was different, software by Nikon NX2?) compared to LR in which several people agreed that Nikon is better to render his own SHIP as ADOBE files and they suggested that it was because the Nikon engineers know the exact process (algorithms?), they used to extract and calculate the chip data and thus can better engineer the right to the editing environment even if Adobe uses a "best estimate". I have no idea if this is true, but it seemed plausible.

Now I do not have the latest version of the Nikon software but I wanted to see if I could compare jpg 'good' of the camera to the image of the raw data in LR.

(Without having to buy the softwareor even open a free demo)

The first thing I did was import NEF files and JPGs as separate importations in the same catalog, by changing my import settings.

    .

It was easy to notice the difference on my screen. (How does that translate to print, I don't know.)

What surprised me, is that the jpgs from the camera immediately look better than the NAVE "Unproessed" files.

(When it is properly captured.) I do not expect to be as easy to improve however as the raw files.

But I couldn't the Raw file to resemble the JPG?

I tried to assign the NEF files my favorite camera profiles (used portrait put in camera)

Even on eidting my first RAW file, I noticed that if I wanted to match the jpg files, I use other adjustments such as contrast, recovery etc.

I intend to make quick mass-settings for RAW files to see if I could match or beat the jpg for the overall image quality

I wanted to use synchronization to copy those affecting each file.so NAVE, I started sort NEF files and JPG files into different groups and soon discovered I don't know how to do this:

Is there a QUICK WAY TO SORT / GROUP of TYPES of FILES IN LR?

Can I select just the RAW file or just the JPG files?

I know that I can sort the metadata files, but cannot figure out how to sort by extension.

I realize that I can do to work around the problem by deleting the entire folder in the catoalgue and sorting using windows explore (XP) and then re-import them separately.

But I think that there should be an easy way to sort directly in LR. But I'm afraid, there is no. Am I wrong?

Once I sort, I would be able to mass - apply settings (such as contrast settings) to a set or another and to do some side - to - side comparisons between RAW files and jpg files and make the most of my photos.

To select by file type, go to the metadata Panel in the library filter (if it is not displayed check

( Display filter bar on the view menu). Click on one of the panels of meta data, and then select the file type. Select the type of file you want.

  • Firefox Sync not synchronized with the device

I recently noticed (maybe about last weeks couple?) a few inconsistencies with account of bookmarks on my laptop. So, I did a side-by-side comparison with one couple of other computers I have sync with and noticed that they were sync very well, but my laptop that has never had a problem today are problems of synchronization. When I click Synchronize now (under Tools on the Menu bar), I immediately clicked on the menu button and saw the progress rotating blue color sync indicator arrows. Thinking this would be now to synchronize my mobile with other computers and vice versa, I noticed an error message at the bottom of the following page: Sync has encountered an error during synchronization: could not connect to the server. Sync automatically retrying this action. The "Préférences" button... "appears to the right of the message so, naturally, I clicked it and it opened the window Options for the synchronization. I tried to find documentation on this and failed. How can I make Firefox engineers aware of this problem? Before you ask me what is obvious, yes I'm able to connect to the Internet and search the Web. I don't know what caused this failure of the connection to the question of the server and how to solve.

followed another: can you try to enter Subject: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named services.sync.clusterURL, right-click and reset this preference and finally restart firefox once?

  • Variance between Lightroom and Photoshop image

I often export my work from Lightroom for retouching in Photoshop. When the image opens in Photoshop, it is not as bright and vibrant as the image view in Lightroom. I have nothing in Photoshop can restore the image to its counterpart in Lightroom.

I am running Windows 10 and Adobe CC 2015.5. My screen is a 24 "LED-backlit Dell U2413, calibrated with Spyder5pro. I export images from Lightroom to matte printing paper as sRGB as JPEG with a quality set at 100 and the resolution to 300.

If I find the image exported to any other viewing application, Lightroom Jpeg seems well. It doesn't seem bad until it hits Photoshop. I have not even to save in Photoshop. It looks like offshore as soon as it opens. Is there a setting in Photoshop I'm wrong I don't understand or know?

I'll try to include a screenshot of the two for a side-by-side comparison.

    AdobePSvLR.jpg

When Lightroom and Photoshop the colors do not match, it is usually caused by a defective monitor profile.

Did you upgrade to Windows 10? If so, have you done a calibration since the upgrade?

Windows 10 is known to install the manufacturer monitor profiles, which tend to be of poor quality and will replace all current profile.

It is also possible that a profile you created by calibration can be damaged.

As your monitor seems to be a wide range (which means about Adobe RGB), try to set the monitor in Adobe RGB profile.

Press the Windows key + R, type colorcpl in the box and press ENTER.

This will open the color management dialog box, and you can now see what profile is set as the default, which will tell you if Windows has replaced the original profile, or if your calibrated profile is always default.

Now follow the instructions in the screenshots below, and make sure you check out use my settings for this device.

If this solves the problem. re - calibrate with your Spyder.
