  I suspect that you are in grayscale. Go to Image > Mode and change to RGB.

  pse13 I am filling the layer.  The layer has a small rectangle on it and nothing else.  When I fill the layer, it fills the whole canvas, not only the rectangle!  It's used to work!

  1. Go to file > new > empty file. Type w, h and the resolution, & background color. It's the Web.
  2. Set up the fixed size Rectangle tool, enter w & h dimensions of the rectangle
  3. Use the paint bucket tool to fill the rectangle with the color of choice as determined by the foreground color chip.

  Hi all

  I'm kinda a noob and following a tutorial... and found something strange and I wonder if you could help me understand what is happening.

  I have Photoshop CS6 extended on a macbook pro (late 2011).

  I am running OSX v 10.7.5

  I'm the long and the instructor has added a new layer. I did it.

  He then filled the white layer which is its background color (it has foreground black, white background). I have same evidence / background colors.

  Now I thought on mac to fill with the foreground color, you hit Apple + Delete and to fill it with the background, press Option + delete

  It's the exact OPPOSITE for me. I hit Apple + DELETE (or even BACKSPACE) and filled it with my background color, which is white

  If I hit Option + DELETE (or RET.), filled it with my foreground color.

  I tried searching in the area of keyboard shortcuts change... but I do not see these settings anywhere.

  I have an external keyboard plugged into my mac. It is a 3rd party one, but seems otherwise never function normally.

  I assume that you use the application overview.

  I can't find an answer to back up everything, but a workaround could be while the file menu options are visible, press the option key

  and the point of the window will become close, if you click on that dialogue will ask you if you want to restore the changes or save

  pressing Save will close the image with the changes and then move to the next image and so on.

  I hope that makes sense for everyone, somehow when I was messing around with the colors on my screen, well, I thought that I just changed the outline of color display box well apparently not whenever I'm looking for something on the bottom of some site web it is comes in blue instead of white like it's supposed to be , and it's really hard to read things on a blue background, I tried everything I know possible to fix it.   You can set the polygon tool to 3 sides, or use the pen tool.

• Photoshop CS5 with the colors of incorrectly on my CintiqUX21

  As far as I know that it's really just Photoshop, when viewing images or documents on the Cintiq they display the same colors as on my primary monitor.

  But when I draw something in Photoshop, the colors are more saturated. It is noticeable especcially when I remove the workspace and drag it on my primary monitor.

  Tests with a rainbow gradient I see that, compared to my main monitor violet becomes darker and blue, becomes stronger; almost turning a solid bar rather than a gradient. Green also gets a little lighter.

  Hi there we use Fireworks CS3 and seem to have problems with the color picker tool.
  
  When we hover over a color and select it, we do not get the same color. Sometimes, we choose a blue color and it translates into a green.
  
  Also when we have a color for example chabouni and reduce the color so something lighter, he returned to the Carter.

• A selection of Alpha channel with the color of foreground fill layer

  This question is more theoretical, because I found a work around. On a layer, I have a gray color, that I sample, and it becomes the desired foreground color.

  I would like to fill a selection in an Alpha channel with this gray color.

  However, when I view the Alpha channel, my forground color is lost for black and white, I understand, because the Alpha channel is a grayscale image.

  But I'm able to taste a shade of gray to a foreground color, but how can I keep my chosen original Gray selected from a layer? The only way I know would be to make a new shade and then use it when I'm in the channels.

  Don't know what you're saying. Sampling the RGB would eventually produce the colors 'Sales', aynway. This apart, of course sampling one color produces 3 values for all 3 components that define the color that can be applied directly onto a single channel a sense or the other. If you must have an 'academic' way to fix, you need to associate mathematics channel as for example combining the Red layer with Alpha using calculations of the image or creating a separate channel which holds the light / gray value. However, if your swatch method works for you, I see no reason to geek. Sometimes simple, hacky techniques are most effective...

  If you want this color "background" to print or export, you need to draw the rectangle.

  If you don't want to print or export, you can use the option simulate a colored paper in the transparency in all documents options upward. Set just two boxes of opacity of the same color grid.
