Column width classic report apex 5.0

Hello

Using the latest version of the Apex

version: 5.0.0.00.31

Information of the database: Oracle Database Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0 12 c - 64 bit

Theme: Universal Theme,

Models Page and the region: Standard

I wanted to know what is the correct way to set the width of a column on a classic report in the new theme.

I have two columns in the classic report and uses the form fields Stretch on model options in region I need the report to take the entire length of the region.

I want to control the width of the first column to take less bandwidth. Currently, each column is set to 50% each.

Please provide your suggestions.

Hi Madhu,

Go to the Page attribute

under CSS-> Inline-> put the code below

td[headers="JOB"] {
    width: 200px !important;
}

Here, instead of WORK put the column heading that you want to increase the width

Kind regards

  • How to specify the width of the column for classic report in 5 Apex?

    5 apex, I click on the name of the report in tabular form and then go to the tab report attributes.  When you look at the attributes column, there is a list of the database columns that are included in the report.  One of the attributes is the column width.  Regardless of the value, as I type, the column widths do not change when you view the results of the report.

    For a particular column of data in the report, which is editable, this is show only about 20 characters and I want to show him perhaps 50 characters.  It would be great if it would also wrap up the value of a new line when the size of the data is too large to fit in the allotted space.

    I guess that it is a simple setting and I looking in the wrong place.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

    Kim

    Hi Kim

    Bakhtiyar post is the correct answer.  However, there are occasions where does not display the width option in the attributes Panel. that was the position that I assumed you are in.  It depends on how the form of tables was created.  If it was created using the wizard, no problem.  If the form has been created manually (IE without using the Wizard), and then depending on the model used, the width option does not appear.  The only way we found it is to recreate the form (using the Wizard).  Or use the css above.

    I hope that your form displays the width option.

  • "Character String Buffer too small" classic report Apex 3.2.1

    Hi all

    I know it's a very old version I mention here, but that's what we have in our environment, would be very grateful if anyone can help out.

    I have a classic report with the sub query in this, I have added a filter using an element from the selection list (P70_GROUP).

    SELECT VWS. ServerID AS Display_ID, vws. ServerID AS ID, vws. Host name, vws. ServerStatus, vws. SiteName AS Site vws. Customer, vws. CoreHours, vws. Patch_Notes, vws. PATCH_DEP, vws. Patch_Day, vws. PATCH_GROUPID, vws. PATCH_TIMEID AS VW_Live_Support FROM Time LEFT JOIN W_Patch_Groups wpg vws WE (vws. Patch_GroupID = wpg.ID) WHERE the vws. ID = ' no AND NVL (wpg. Ignore, 'n') = ' n AND ((: P70_GROUP > 1 AND vws.)) PATCH_GROUPID =: P70_GROUP) OR (: P70_GROUP = 1 AND vws.) (Patch_GroupID IS NULL) OR (NVL(:P70_GROUP,0) = 0)) AND (INSTR (UPPER (vws. Host name), SUPERIOR (NVL (: P70_SEARCH, vws.)) HostName))) > 0 OR INSTR (UPPER (vws. ServerStatus), SUPERIOR (NVL (: P70_SEARCH, vws.)) ServerStatus))) > 0 OR INSTR (UPPER (vws. SiteName), SUPERIOR (NVL (: P70_SEARCH, vws.)) SiteName))) > 0 OR INSTR (UPPER (vws. (Client), SUPERIOR (NVL (: P70_SEARCH, vws.)) Customer))) > 0 OR INSTR (UPPER (vws. CoreHours), SUPERIOR (NVL (: P70_SEARCH, vws.)) CoreHours))) > 0 OR INSTR (UPPER (vws. Patch_Notes), SUPERIOR (NVL (: P70_SEARCH, vws.)) (Patch_Notes))) > 0)

    This is when I select a group in the list, I get

    "error report:

    "ORA-06502: PL/SQL: digital or value error: character string buffer too small.

    an unusual thing, that I've noticed here is when I select "All groups", which returns the value 0, it is works well and return of 3700 lines but when I select any group that returns 10 to 20 lines I get the above error.

    does not include why it is, please help me.

  • Classic report with column LOV

    I have simple classic report (Apex 4.2.4) with two columns. One is to main table and shows the ID; another column is LOV that contains detail table names, which must FK main table.

    Table structure:

    master_table (id NUMBER);

    detail_table (detail_name VARCHAR2 (50), master_id NUMBER);

    Source report looks like:

    Select

    ID,

    lov_column null

    of master_table;

    lov_column is defined as a query in function LOV and query looks like:

    Select detail_name from detail_table

    where master_id = #ID #.

    But the application does not recognize the values #ID #? Can I use it without the WHERE statement, but in this case in LOV, I got all the records, and that I want in a folder have values only for this ID.

    What can I do?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kiran I thank you for your care, I finally found the solution.

    Apex.Oracle.com cloud works with Apex5, it is not possible to obtain a classical column LOV relation, but it is possible to do this by using APEX_ITEM. SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY. And so I did in my application.

    in the statement I wrote:

    Select

    Mt.ID,

    apex_item.select_list_from_query (1, null, "select dt.detail_code d, dt.detail_code r detail_table dt where dt.master_id = ' |") Mt.ID) retail

    of master_table TM;

    And it works!

    The old packed timesheet application has the tip for how to display the day of the week selected by the user in the form of columns in the tabular presentation.

    Reference: old packages of timesheet Application

    That's how I'd do:

    • Select the range of dates populate the days between the date columns range in a collection of the APEX.
    • Display the columns as editable using the APEX_ITEM API.

    NOTE: Application of time sheets there was select list for weeks, so always the number of dynamic columns would be 7 + column code time.

    Also, the maximum number of modifiable columns, you can use on your page APEX is 50.

  • How to adjust column widths individual classic SQL report

    There is an element of uncertainty in what we suggest as well, because you have not specified the theme and the report of model that is used. This information is required for any question of formatting or the visual layout.

    I drilled in individual columns and specified the column widths as the element, but in vain.

    Report in some themes templates may be missing in the #COLUMN_WIDTH substitution string # required for use of the declarative column widths, as shown here: Re: width of column in reports

    I don't know why it would be missing from a theme of so-called "modern" (perhaps the lack of documentation affects even the Oracle theme designers), but you can add it to the models listed in this thread.

    Width of the element applies only to controls on a form in a table.

    Would appreciate help on how to do this for each column and hope that I do not need to change the model of report (if possible).

    This can be done using selectors CSS attribute (for the themes of quirks mode non-traditional, because you are using a legacy version of IE). Add a style sheet in CSS Inline property page:

    #ALIAS,
    td[headers="ALIAS"] {
    width: 40%;
    }

    where the ALIAS value in the attribute selector matches the required column alias, and the width property specifies the column dimension required and the units.

    Note that the percentage widths will be compared to the width of the report table. Therefore, it may be necessary to also specify widths (100%) for the table of report and its components. Exactly how is based on the report, the region and the page templates and theme used, information that was not provided.

    I'm on version 4.1.1.00.23 of the APEX. I've created a classic report and I am trying to sort. Here's how I'm trying to sort by column name. I have TotPGPV with sorting sequence 1 desc and NewTOTPGPV with sorting sequence 2 desc. I have Count1, Count5 with the sort column. What I'm asking is when the report is run can column sorting to default Count1 and Count5 descending instead of the ascendant. I don't see anywhere to set the default value for the sort column.

    Hi - on the report of the page attributes - that you show in your attached screenshot - you can select the columns to sort on the sort sequence as well as the direction of the sort, i.e. for a given column, you can choose to allow sorting on this column, what position this column must be in the sort sequence and whether to sort Ascending or descending by default (i.e. '1' means sort this column first and bottom-up and "1 desc") sort this column first and downhill). Don't forget that once you click on one of the headings of column during execution, it changes your sort settings and these settings are stored in your preferences, that is, they are used again the next time you log in your application and rerun the report.

  • change the color of line based on the value of column 5 Apex in the classic report

    Hello

    I know this question has been asked several times here, but I'm working on 5 Apex and need to know the correct way to do it in this version.

    I need to change the color of the text of the entire line (no background color) based on the value in one of the columns of the classic report. I have just two conditions, if the value of column = Yes, color should be red, otherwise it must be green.

    I am new to jscript and css, so appreciate if someone can tell me the solution with steps.

    I have already checked this link that changes the value of the column, need to do something similar to the whole line.

    Hi coolmaddy007-Oracle,.

    Here's an example set up on the apex.oracle.com according to the specifications you gave: https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=35467:1

    Version of the apex 5.0.0.00.31

    Standard universal theme

    Page theme default template

    Classic report

    Foldable report template

    Here is how it is done:

    Create a dynamic action with the following specifications:

    Name: Give the appropriate name

    Event: After refresh

    Selection type: region

    Region: select your region classic report

    Condition: No strings attached

    Action: Run the JavaScript Code

    Fire on loading the Page: Yes

    Code:

    $('td[headers="JOB"]').each(function() {
      if ( $(this).text() === 'MANAGER' ) {
        $(this).closest('tr').find('td').css({"color":"red"});
      }
      if ( $(this).text() === 'SALESMAN' ) {
        $(this).closest('tr').find('td').css({"color":"green"});
      }
      if ( $(this).text() === 'CLERK' ) {
        $(this).closest('tr').find('td').css({"color":"blue"});
      }
    });

    NOTE: Download the selector appropriate for your knowledge $('td[headers="JOB"]') case using firebug/browser development tools.

    Items concerned: leave blank.

    PS: Changed the example to change the color of text instead of the background color.

    I hope this helps!

  • How to create a column width fixed in an interactive report 4 APEX?

    This thread is a continuation of {message identifier: = 9191195}. Thank you fac586.

    Partial success: the following code provided by fac586 limit the width of the column of the Apex 4 interactive report as long as the data in the column contains a white space in a browser Firefox 3.6:

    }
    < / style >
    < / pre >

    Notes:
    1. the above code is placed in the HTML header for the page section.
    2 T_DESCRIPTION is defined as VARCHAR2 (2000).
    3. the above code works in Firefox 3.6.12 browser but does not work in the browser Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13.

    Notes:
    1 "float: left;" requires no white space and successfully splits the column between the characters instead of whitespace.
    2. "float: left;" reduces the height of the cell and allows the page to show through... could not determine how to solve this fundamental problem.
    3. the above code works in Firefox 3.6.12 browser but does not work in the browser Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13.

    I've did some more research, but I've yet to discover how to create a fixed-width column in an interactive APEX 4 report that displays correctly in Internet Explorer 7 browser.

    Ideas and help will be appreciated.
    what theme are you using?

    A customized version of the 15 theme.

    You said you were using APEX 4.0, if I was testing on 4.0, but using one of its new themes based on the standards. 15 theme is a theme of legacy from older versions of APEX, mainly to ensure a certain level of support for the despised IE6 browser. The new themes are designed to restore mode standard and those inherited mode quirks (This is explained here). Firefox (and Safari, Opera and Chrome, and...) for your application, it's academic: all the required CSS: selectors attribute, the property max-width and dressing work in two modes.

    Enter Microsoft. They decided that in IE7, backwards compatibility meant that new CSS features would be supported only in standard mode, even if they had never been implemented in older versions, with no previous, behavior that may break. Go figure. Yes, even so the dressing will work in quirks mode (no surprise - Microsoft invented), attribute selectors, and max-width only. The latter is bug in standard mode, so I tried using widthworkaround, but who has always used an attribute selector, which of course is ignored, there are no selectors of friendly quirks mode in uneditable Oracle IR of supplement.

    The best 2 options are:

    1. stop using IE.

    2. use a theme based on standards.

    Less satisfactory would be:

    3. change your theme custom (or some of its pages) in standard mode (but it could break him other stuff).

    4 throw some JavaScript to fix the problem (I'll sleep on this one).
