Looks like your system is corrupt, its probably best you reinstall Windows 7:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

Click Install now

Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

Got a message saying my computer may be infected and my Windows Installer is missing...! How can I solve?

    Hi JohnYusko,

    1. have you done any hardware changes or software on your computer before this problem?

    2. do you have security software installed on your computer?

    3. when exactly you receive this error message?

    (a) I recommend you run a virus scan online from the link given below and check if the problem persists:

    Microsoft safety scanner

Also, make sure that you have the latest update of the software antivirus installed on your computer, so that it works correctly.

    (b) you can also download & run Microsoft Security Essentials on your computer.

Due to Windows Installer, you try to unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer and check if the problem persists. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. initially, box run, type "msiexec /unreg" and press ENTER on the keyboard.

    b. Type "msiexec/regserver" and press ENTER on the keyboard.

  • A list of the internal commands of cmd.exe

    Hello

Aim: I am trying to get a list of all internal controls in my version of cmd.exe.  I found a reference on them elsewhere.  But what 'I' have?  Here's what I've found so far.

When I type cmd I just returned to the command prompt display

    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6002]
Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation.  All rights reserved.

Type cmd /? shows a list on the screen.

And when I type cmd /? > intrnlcommands.txt, this list is now captured in a file called intrnlcommands.txt. See a short list below:

Starts a new instance of the Windows command interpreter

    CMD [/A | / U] [/ Q] [/ D] [/ E: ON | / E: OFF] [/ F: WE | / F: OFF] [/ V: ON | / V: OFF]
    [[S] [/C | / k] string]

/ C runs the command specified by the string and then ends
/K executes the command specified by the string but remains
/S changes the processing of the string after /C or /K (see below)
    / Q turns echo off
/ D: disables running registry AutoRun commands (see below)
/A causes the output of internal commands to a pipe or file to be ANSI
/ U causes the output of internal commands to a pipe or file to be Unicode

I was hoping the/a/a or options/u show me what I was looking for.  But I tried just these option and > somefilename.txt, who gave me a screen similar to what you would see if you type copy con, even if I type exit (not press F6) to return to a command prompt and no file has been created.

Anyone have any experience using these switches? I'll keep looking.

Thank you.  Any help is very appreciated!

  • error message trying to reinstall Java. tells me that the windows installer is missing a DLL error #1723

My Java file must have been corrupted, but all of a sudden I can't play.  I have uninstall and when I try to reinstall I get afficherapres message "#1723 that there is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your provider staff or the support package!

I also received his message - Launch4j - makes registry reference to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted.  The system cannot find the path specified

Help!  I tried to download the version of Windows Installer 4.5, but the website tells me that I don't need. I thought that the download would overwrite what is installed on my computer and load the missing file!

Not sure if it is a Java problem, a problem Windows or Firefox...

    Help again!

I've corrected the Launch4J message by changing the values of JavaSoft registry keys:

    Start RegEdit
Open this key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Development Kit
Expand void keys and change all values your current value of JAVA_HOME JavaHome.

If you have installed the Java SDK in C:\Program Files\Oracle\6 then use this value "C:\Program Files\Oracle\6".
If you have installed Java Runtime Environment in the C:\Program JRE, then use the value "C:\Program JRE.

You might be able to open a DOS command window and run this command to find the current path of Java:
    JAVA_HOME %Echo%

    Substitute:

Unregister Windows Installer and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. in the menu 'Start', click on ' execute:.»

    2. in the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.

    3. in the menu 'Start', click 'run '.

    4. in the "Open" box, type "msiexec/regserver", and then press ENTER.

If this is insufficient, the I would say to install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility and run that to remove the Java remains Setup files that can cause problems with your current installation.
